1) No incentive for legitimite sites to use it

Actually there are lots of legitimate sites accepting Bitcoin. For a start accepting Bitcoin as a method of payment shows that the company is prepared to move with the times, even during the pioneering stages.

Furthermore, as the owner of Overstocks said, it brings in new business - people are buying things that they would have otherwise bought elsewhere using their dollars.

It will fail due to greed before anything else. The technology behind is admirable. It's beautiful. The humans that it attracts.. not so much.
