Because thats seems to be the only feasible option that would provide a better ROI as compared to setting up a mining rig..

Because generally it's been headed to the moon, so people can make money off it.
I buy bitcoins to use for trading other alt coins. I'm fairly new so I've only invested a small amount of money looking to get the hang of trading. If you have the money investing in bitcoin itself can pay off.

I'm a finance guy so it's simple, risk to reward is excellent for Bitcoin. The downside is in 3 years bitcoin is $10 or below. The upside is Bitcoin is $5,000+ per coin. At $700 and the potential, I'm willing to take the risk.
Because BTC is the mother of crypto coins, so many people are already on it, a lot safer than alt coins.
