I have also problem that I can not see option of sign a message in coinbase after putting details in label and save it, How can i Sign a message?
Just being said multiple times above that coinbase did already remove this feature this is why I decided to move up into another wallet which is electrum signed message is way too easy which is expected for a desktop wallet. You do own your keys you can signed message with it this is why its always been better compared on most web-wallet provider which most of them are not offering such feature.

Coinbase does not support option of sign message. If you want to use this option, you can use blockchain or electrum where you can see privatekey.

Currently, the sign message link is not showing anymore probably coinbase has stopped support for signing Bitcoin address. I ended up signing Bitcoin address using Electrum. The process is pretty straightforward.

This is my problem before that is why i change my bitcoin wallet into electrum because before when i was getting loan i can not even make a sign message even you can seen the button sign message there its no longer working i already requested in coinbase but they ignoring their message ..
So i decided to transfer all of my bitcoin in to electrum because i can't trust that site even they are legal.. we don't fully over our wallet..
This is the reason why I do stop on using their service already which they did disable such important feature which most people are seeking in able for you to sign message. Whats the purpose of the button if it isn't working at all? How pathetic on their service and same as you did I transfer all of my funds in electrum which is far more better you do have the keys and you can input or set out dynamic fees that suits your needs which you cant able to do on those exchange wallets.

If you wouldn't be able to sign a message by following this step by step tutorial
https://coins.newbium.com/post/1408-how-to-sign-message-your-bitcoin-address-coinbase
the coinbase indeed disabled this feature.
The tutorial is one year old, but didn't find an info on coinbase.

This disabled for a long time after they change the theme  of the wallet .. i think that is why they disable this because they are having any problem about there new theme that is why they removing and disable this feature..

I just having this issue when signing message from staking but looks like they have no plan to re-enable  it again..
So if you really looking for a wallet which is can sign message you can choose electrum instead or mycelium..

ill have to see if my ledger can sign messages;  then it wont be such a pain...
Usually, the standard Ledger Nano needs electrum to sign a message that makes currently some problems to me, without them it gives an error that it contains inappropriate letters. With a Ledger Nano S it should works smoothly and fast.

resurrecting.

Coinbase disabled the signing of messages using their service.

This really pooches some people.

Imagine staking your account, then not being able to recover or re-stake it because you can't sign a damned message.
You shouldn't use them for staking anyway - or even as a wallet. Deposit when you want to sell your coins, withdraw your money and you are done. That's what Coinbase is for.

I'm not sure why people keep using them as a long-term storage method even after everything that has happened with exchanges and web wallets in the past. Remember: As long as you do not have control over the private-keys of your address, those coins are not yours.

@813bits Have you tried with another browser to see if it could just be a browser problem?

Because you don't own your private keys and you don't own your coins.  You also can't sign a message in any other online wallet as far as I know.  Your best bet is to go with a software wallet or a TREZOR instead.

It is possible to sign a message with Coinbase. As far as I know it is the only web based wallet allowing people to sign a message (I have not tested all web wallets BTW)

I am in my Coinbase account, I go to details of the btc address that I want to sign a message, I select "sign a message" and enter my message.  From here the Sign Message button click does not show a Signature, what is going on?  Nothing happens when I press Sign Message..WTF?
Did ou try on a diff. browser? I have never signed a message on coinbase because I don't use them and I never liked them because of the issues their ussers has against them. Instead just sign a message using a diffrent wallet like the suggestions of other. Use mycelium, bicoin core, multibit or electrum.

Why to use only coinbase? It has a worst ever customer support, delay payments and, takes even weeks to confirm your deposits.
Choose another wallet provider like blockchain for your ease.
I can recommend you to import your private key to https://omniwallet.org
