As people have mentioned, it always come back to resources. Have a religion? You need people. Have people? You need food and water.

Peace is generally about a lack of conflict, but conflict will always exist because there are no constraints that prevent conflict on a biological level.

We can't live in peace because we are humans - and hence have emotions - hate, love, ego, jealousy, pride, respect, etc. Peace is bad for business and politics. There is too much economic and political power to be gained when people are at peace, plus throw in the fact that people regularly feel good about disturbing and upsetting others. Peace does not come from ignorance, it comes from knowledge. It is a voluntary process. Much like tolerance. As long as we are still living in duality, still competing vs. collaborating, our thinking minds still have a negative bias, we still living by others rules and oppressive governments, we can't live in peace.

So far as human continue to exist, war, conflict, disaster, disagreement, supremacy and other ways by which crisis erupt among individuals will continue to exist as well because normally, human beings think differently and does things differently so there is absolutely no way one will not disagree over another and just like animals, humans also fights for survival of the fittest in a time where there is limited supply of socio-economic needs of the people and other basic things that makes man superior to another.

And what also leads to crisis and other social vices is as a result of the anxiousness of power because on a norm, no body wants to continue to be inferior or belittled so in a situation where someone at the bottom is inquisitive to be at the top and the one at the one at the top doesn't want others to meet them at the top therefore it can result to conflicts and disagreement and can lead to war clash and other human disturbance with those particular regions.

Well there will be wars in the world forever I do think. There has been wars that is happening in BC and people is going to not agree with each other.

And yes that is it the reason for wars. For power and control and for wealth they will let many to die for that.
If peace can be attain completely then this is a different world from what we are living because war is part of the world even since our forefather lives , and said that in early days ? war has been around to conquer for power and  popularity , saying many kings fight for war just to be their name be listed in the history , that is how BS war brings to the world.

What makes a person thirst for war? Is it control, power, or is this his nature?

One of the basic truths of the universe:

All biological creatures will eventually be forced to compete for limited resources.

Peace is just an illusion my dear, seriously stay with me for a moment, we are physical creatures that lives in a physical world but also we are spiritual creatures damd with a spiritual mind, a brain that has no limits, unlimited information, history, present that we live and future that we should create in order to get a better life, we are damd by our history, our life, and our environment, we didn't chose to live and we don't have a choice to stay alive, we are damd by a short life, how could you even talk about peace, in order to get peace we create war, that is the paradox of life my friend. So I think that the best question to ask is does peace exists?

If war is a middle way to seize because of one's selfishness to own it, it is ridiculous. Indeed, previous wars are made history, but that does not mean for the future, meaning that this is the era of smart people, there is no need to fool under the pretext of strength. Some will care and some will feel that the world does not only take care of natural resources for income if it is in the name of the state, let alone seize the rights of others. The difference in mindset makes violence a solution to paralyze, it is an ancient way.

I believe every country has laws and each country has unity for defense and protection.

Hi,

I wake up in the morning to go to work and find that another war has begun in another part of the world. This topic is very large and we cannot stop talking about it. Wars over land, oil, water, precious metals, almost everything, until the word war has become very common and is mentioned in News broadcasts many times a day. Indeed, humanity is heading towards its destruction and demise. We are the ones who create death with our own hands.

What makes a person thirst for war? Is it control, power, or is this his nature?
Individual discrepancy, nature has made that humans can never behave alike in all ramifications of life, actions and reactions differs from one another, quest, expectations, lifestyles, aspirations, dreams, and so many others, humans can never become like minds. Hence there can never be permanent peace.

Well, for the information you are exaggerating than what's happening in the reality just because it's just keep repeating everywhere you see.

Even people can live close to normal life when they are in the war premises because not everyone citizen is taking part in the war since it's mostly between the army of two countries and if you are just a commoner you have the choice to make.

i Think greed makes a person thirst for war.  Whenever a person covets a particular thing, war ensues.  So everyone should control their greed.  Only then can we live in peace.

there is nothing that can explain this but POWER, who are a human that has a nature of conquering the world if it is not about the power? when you are in control of the world you all has the power over everything and no one can stop you, look at those animated movies/series? isn't Power is what they are fighting for?to control the world so what made this different from every of those power hunger/abuser ?

Humans are built in a way that fights for survival

It is somehow in our nature to keep wanting more and more whatever it is. We are naturally greedy and selfish but it is really for our own survival. Others, though, have become way too greedy that even if they don’t need it they still fight others to get it. Hence why wars are started and it is mainly started by big and powerful countries wanting more territory and power.

Reflecting changes in the international system of war theories of war have gone through several phases. Wars are fought for many different reasons, including competition for land religious conflict and nationalism. Wars were fought in the interests of individual sovereigns and were limited both in their purpose and their scope. It is difficult for a person to be at peace because his own interests are hidden here.

What makes a person thirst for war? Is it control, power, or is this his nature?

It will be more informative if you include other specific events and developments such as territorial battles, resource control conflicts, and power struggles.

One can list countless causes of war, but the most basic cause is always human greed and selfishness. The desire for power and domination is inherent in human nature, so they will use violence if necessary to achieve everything in life.

In addition, cultural, religious and political differences also have an impact on conflict and war. They cannot be resolved peacefully because these problems cause people to start fighting with each other for not accepting their differences.

Many reasons why thirst for war occur is not far from power and dominance, fame , territorial boundary, military power, population mineral resources as many is already mentioned which I may not like a repeat over it.
Human being prefer power ,fame more than anything, some thirst for can be trace  from economy dominance and historical issues.

Most time some believe war reduce population , and use it as medium to reduce population.

All of those are correct and add many from it, greed, belief, territories expansion, and many more.

Honestly, just by looking at many posts in the internet. I don't understand why many are glorifying these wars as if they're prepared to die while sitting on their homes comfortably startling and triggering other people that soon there will be more wars.

I know and I understand that we have no control over these matters. But it's about the differences of these world leaders and why they can't just talk over it peacefully? I guess that's how the world works when most leaders have their own prides, reasoning and logical thinking about international affairs. Them being winners if they win this war but we are the mostly affected here, emotionally, psychologically and those that are in the ground, losing their loved ones.

While the rich are making their bunkers, they know what might happen soon.  Undecided

You already mention one of the reasons, i.e., for limited resources. Many wars are just because one party wants to take the other land, maybe because of strategic position, natural resources, or simply want to rule the entire world (like Caesar, Genghis Khan, etc.).

One reason that you missed is about ideology, including religion...
