It does not seem like a promising start. I visited the link. They asked me to complete a file and in the end it seems that there is a list and they will respond to you later.

They asked for a lot of information, but there was no explanation of the price. I will try again with filecoin, but I thought the idea was simple. Drag and Drop File Uploading, in addition to paying the fees, you get the TXID.
it does not seem that this service is available to everyone or upon request, but rather it is available according to what is available after filling out a form, which means that you may wait a long time.

The reason is quite simple and obvious

Decentralized storage use less money to operate their servers compared to centralized storage the examples you have mentioned are all big names large corporations are expensive because they are operating on a large scale hence why their services are much more expensive than the centralized ones

I believe the primary reason is not the cost of the service, but rather the marketing. Google, Amazon, Dropbox, and Apple invest billions of dollars to lure users into subscribing. Almost all of them end up utilizing less than what they pay for, such as 30% of a 1TB subscription.

If I had to guess, I would say that the main reason is the fact the general public has not yet massively moved onto those decentralized services, creating a context where there are plenty of people willing to mine or offer their storage space in exchange of their native coin, while there are few people willing to rent their storage space.
Let's face it, the average person who wishes to pay for storage space in the cloud is more likely to look for those centralized solutions first than diving into doing their own research on projects like Filecoin or Sia.
Also, keeping in mind the prices of Sia and Filecoin are not stable, a higher demand for storage by clients would increase and increasing demand for their native coins as well, increasing the cost for each Terabyte/Month.

If there was a way to introduce those decentralized solutions to more companies and individuals, it would be awesome, it may even drive companies like Google and Amazon to decrease some of their prices.

This is my personal opinion but why decentralized Storage is cheaper than centralized? It is because the high supply over the decentralized storage

Second i see that some miner actually mine other coin with their gpu and just add bunch of hardisk as a side mining

Maybe I should just answer the question in the title: maybe the decentralized fee is cheaper because it is not regulated or controlled by any government in each country. With Dex, we actually have control over the assets we buy on this platform.

Although there is still a risk because, when there is an issue or problem, there is no certainty if you will recover the crypto assets you have on the Dex platform, Unlike Cex and Binance, you can be complacent because they are informed by their community users. Although with Dex, the chances are pretty much 50/50.

Not only are they cheaper but these decentralized storages give users a lifetime guarantee of their data. That means the data will be there until the user doesn't remove it themselves. In centralized storage they remove old data from the server after a few years. Also decentralized storage is subject to censorship resistance, which means the govt will not be able to do anything to manipulate the company or the data. The data will be there and it will be accessible through the internet even if the government wants to ban them.

so why don’t centralized services follow a technology similar to filecon?
They probably know the existence of decentralized storages by now but they don't seem bothered. I guess they don't need to at the moment since people are already buying their product as is. Changing the working system that they already have would mean additional cost and resources so is it really in their best interest as a business? I think they will only take the risk and cross that bridge when they think there is enough demand for it.

Outperform in what way? If the metric is about price then I guess it's just about demand. Is the service priced on the native token and valued based on their USD equivalent? I think that's one thing that should be considered here. Decentralized storages could be charging more if the coin's value in USD increases.

The reason is demands.

Now the question comparing to (Google) and other service do people know about (Filecoin) service ?
I was comparing the costs of adding megabytes to the Bitcoin blockchain, which is very expensive, but the amount is very low compared to centralized services, so why don’t centralized services follow a technology similar to filecon?

The chart surprised me at the first look but I think there are other consideration to make before making a decision.
Speed and uptime on the centralized service might be much different from the decentralized option. I have never used such decentralized service yet, just my guess.
And for long term storage which doesn't need quick access, Amazon glacier deep archive goes as low a $1/TB. The pricing here are for instant service like the one offered by google drive and dropbox. I'd too like to know the reviews from ones that have. I might even try filecoin myself considering the price. Hope the rates are for long term.

charts encouraged me to try it. I was waiting for the experience of users here about the price, efficiency, and possibility of accessing files after years, since even Google does not guarantee you files for dozens of years.

In my opinion, the reason is that the price of decentralized storage may be lower due to the efficient use of resources, the absence of intermediaries and competition. In addition, transparency and security contribute. These factors reduce costs and make decentralized storage more accessible to users.
If the upload speed, download speed, and access to data without delay are reasonable, I will choose them. Reliability is the most important thing in cloud storage, ease of access and then price.

I actually don't have much experience with this piece, but some names in decentralized storage like Denet, Crust... are really cheap.

But we will have the same opinion because it depends on the purpose of use, and the cost that people are willing to pay. Maybe because of the security factor, I think the decentralized space is always rated lower, although I have not seen any resource risk issues during use, but honestly, it is quite suitable for those who are willing to use it intend to store.

When it comes to storing data people would look for something that is reliable and long term. I don't mean the decentralized options are less reliable or for a short term but they still have a long way to go to prove they are reliable. Most of the decentralized "cloud storage" or "data archive" have not started to offer the service yet. I checked for storage options and price for filecoin, there were many confusing options and redirects and they finally asked me to fill a form. That's not how people want to buy storage. sia seem to have better interface and it seems we need to install their provided software to start renting the storage but I can't find exact pricing.

The reason is demands.

Now the question comparing to (Google) and other service do people know about (Filecoin) service ? I think every business scheme is always provided us with cheaper price while they're on growing or early. Meanwhile in the future, once they have many people on board or the demands is high they will raise the price. It's always like that, most common business scheme.

[...]Filecoin asks for around $0.19 per 1TB/month is this real? If so, how were these services able to outperform Amazon S3, Google Cloud, and iCLOUD, as the average prices seem very different.

I intended to renew my cloud space in one of the popular services, and because I encrypt my data before uploading it, privacy was not a priority for me as much as reliability and price. I tried to search for cheaper methods until I found this article, which frankly surprised me with the prices:

Decentralized storage is cheaper than centralized storage by around 78.6% on average. This is given that the main decentralized storage options cost $2.11 for 1TB per month on average, compared to the average of $9.88 among top centralized storage providers across personal and enterprise plans.

The most expensive major decentralized storage option costs $0.16 less than the cheapest centralized storage option, for 1TB/month. Storj charges the highest among top decentralized storage providers at $4.00, whereas Google Drive offers the lowest price of $4.16 among top centralized storage providers. That said, Storj charges separately for the retrieval of stored files at $7/TB for download bandwidth.

The topic is up for discussion, but if anyone knows who has personal experience, I would be grateful.
