They are not interested in your privacy. Any government wants to know what the people are doing and thinking so that it could manage them efficiently. Without that the government will fail. That simple.

Whatever the government do, whether it is good or bad, surely, it do have reasons. National security, as the government's argue about the issue is reasonable and appropriate. But if it is only their fabricated affirmation, then clearly, they have an hidden agenda. Whether this was true or not, as much as the government is primarily concern to the natiinal security, they must also ensure and secure the individual's privacy concerns. They must not neglect nor compromise the individual's private matters to stregthen the national security. They could have find more ways to give the people what they want which is privacy, and at the same time, respond to the national security issues.

Sometime government need to make choices , a hard choice, like they decided to kick your privacy if it mean and necessary to protect as many people as they could... but as long as you don't do crime then nothing to worry...just comply with them ... maybe after doing so..you will have an award..

why is that any time that an innovation comes up to protect the privacy of the individual governments kick against it,citing national security concerns?

The government is super protective and wouldn't take any risk in any form, since technology
today has made things convenient and fast especially with communications. With that
powerful and innovative tech, there's also threats that come with it since
a lot of people are keen on exploiting modern technology for various
reasons. It's all about threats and protection I assume.

Maybe my comment seems too banal. But Captain Obviousness Smiley says that the purpose and essence of any state is power over an individual. How to manage people, if they become absolutely free and will not be afraid? All states are afraid of the freedom of the individual. Totalitarian states openly control all spheres of human life, but democrats are embarrassed Roll Eyes, therefore they come up with many tricks. But the goal remains the same.

The government not only wants to control but feels the need to know what is going on. so for them to loose control is  something they cant do

Every government has a foundation of ideology in determining their policies. But, in the reign of ideokrasi, the dominant ideology has been embedded in the politics of the country and the life of the community. The ideology of a ideokrasi displayed as a system that the supreme, absolute, and universal in the life of the right God in the monotheistic religions.

Well, sometimes I don't blame governments, I blame ourselves. We bring a good technology and then our own people use it for bad act. Look at the number if people who've scammed many investors in crypto and we couldn't trace any person (due to anonymity). So what do we exoect governments to do, they'll definitely intervene

Lots of scammers have already ended up in prison.  They are easy to track down if you kinow what your doing.

Because we have exchanged our own privacy for our security. The government have access to almost everything so that they can better help protect us against those who will seek to harm us and they do that by listening to our conversation and spying on us.

Treat People How You Would Like To Be Treated.
The government basically use it as a control measure.

They can not control you if they don't know what you are doing.

The reality is that in the near future current systems of government will become obsolete. I foresee (and HOPE) that things will move more towards a consensus-based model with a few structures of government whose only purpose would just be to oversee and assist with things. Everything will be fully transparent and they won't be able to get away with any funny business.

Like for example, if we could move to a model where we pay taxes in crypto to a a specific wallet... each person has their own wallet thay they pay their taxes into. Once the funds are their then you can monitor exactly where the money gets spent, so you know how ur taxes are being used. All payments going out of your wallet must go to publicly registered government department wallets. Obviously, there are more details to this idea, I'm just giving an overview.

Governments rely on control over its citizens, every possiblity of anonymous behaviour deminishes their power regarding that, hence they destroy every upcoming technology or movement which promotes anonymity (if they cant place a backdoor or corrupt it).
