Clout and engagement farming

We reaching a point in tech side of things and social media presence that people are pretty much hypnotized by social media and therefore their value as a person in their mind/world is dictated by the likes and followers they get in the digital realm.

So it makes sense that when even a negative event is happening their first instinct is to always pull out their phone and start snapping pictures or record a video, merely because they think of all the likes and engagements they are going to get from it, but I'm sure there are some smaller percentage of people which getting engagement is not the first thing that comes to their mind when such events happen so not denying that either.

Frankly speaking I have seen people in several occassions where an accident happens they will gather around And will be making videos And snaping instead of helping the people or even atleast givie  them first aid assistance or even call some government agencies for emergency assistance But they will rather Choose to snap pictures , shout , search the victim’s Pocket to steal their money And all that .

My question here is , will such videos And pictures save people’s life ? So lets enligten ourselves on this , And what could be the best solution To this? Or will the pictures or videos serve as first aid To the victims ?
Even though the videos and pictures are not going to save the person at the moment, it will make the family members of the person to know what happened to the person and the location it happen, There are many innocent people in the prison now, for what they don't know anything about, just because they where trying to recuse the person not to die but the person later died in their hands, but they where accused of killing the person because no proper evidence like video or pictures of trying to save the person life.

In some cases it do help that it can transmit info quickly to the authorities when there's no coverage yet for the accident.

But at most times, we're naturally born gossipers and that's why when accidents happen, we tend to take pictures and videos of it because we think that there's an urge that we should be the one to cover it first.

And with the technology media arises now, it becomes a content and clout for those people that covers it.

In highways, I often see these people that were slowing down just to gossip what's happening. I am guilty of it as well but I'm too lazy to get my gadget and take it into lenses.

We live in a world now where people are so consumed by social media & the online world that they don’t live life in real time. People are obsessed with their social media profiles & getting the best ‘content.’ I’m very glad that I grew up in a time when all this stuff wasn’t available.
No. That is not the case. The truth is that in real life most people are f@#$ed up pieces of s@#$. Online, they are simply less capable of acting f!@#ed up even though they make a better effort.

I am not interested in helping someone in an accident nor am I interested in snapping pictures. Helping someone will not benefit me at all, and it will subject me to risk, so I refuse to help people. If you want me to help people, then you need to begin with yourself and act virtuously. If I do not expect the person who needs help to be virtuous, then I will not want to help that person. And since most people are completely and utterly devoid of virtue, I will not help people in the least bit.

Don't save people's lives. Don't help people with things. Don't tip. Don't donate money. Don't donate your time. Don't donate to the church. Don't vote unless you are purposely voting for the worst possible candidates out of revenge. Don't give your kids gifts. Don't give anyone else gifts. Don't help people move. Don't support any causes. If you do something for others, they will never appreciate you. People are sick and evil. Treat them accordingly.

If you want to be virtuous, the first step is to stop f@#$ing pretending that you have any virtue whatsoever. I can teach you how to be virtuous. Please send me a message, so that we can set up sessions that will teach you how to be virtuous.

I personally know of a way to save lives, but I will not do anything to implement this method until I get lots of sex (but seriously, I don't want your STDs), but since I am not getting enough sex (oh, and the sex must result in a few bastard kids), I am not going to do a da@# thing to make sure that this method gets implemented. This method when implemented may save humanity from extinction, but there are more important things like my own pride.

these days.. with whats known as "ambulance chaser lawsuits" many people fear getting involved because if things go wrong they can become liable of mistreatment
Your are right franky, their are some conditions one may be going through people won't have the capacity to render help but the only thing they can do is to video it for the public to see how the incident took place. I don't see anything wrong to video when terrible things are happening I think it  is the highest people can do at point.  People are scared involving themselves into things that will lead them to problems,  so they wouldn't want to go closer.
It's true that in some cases where the accident victim is conscious and able to move some parts of their body, the right thing to do will be to call emergency numbers and take pictures, but I believe that apart from rare cases where the victim is quite conscious, people should try and save lives in an accident scene, Because the accident victims can die before the arrival of medical professionals or an ambulance. Mobile phones are very useful for quick and effective communication but people are more concerned about social media activities in their phones than physical communication and saving lives, you'd see people in need of urgent help, perhaps in accident or distressed about something, most people around will rather video or snap than help.

There are many reasons why people choose to just take a picture, such as wanting to gain followers on social media platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook. Some may avoid helping because they fear getting into trouble. They worry about being blamed for the accident or getting involved in a dangerous situation, like being attacked by the family of those involved in the accident. Others may be influenced by the bystander effect, where they act similarly to those around them.

Could be several reasons, of which I believe two are most likely:
1) Seeking dopamine hit with social media interactions
2) Avoiding potential liability in helping and instead choosing to document the incident

This is not so from the beginning ,I see the situation not been course by social media only but how people perceived their laws and policy of their nation.

Before now when there is a reward for good work people hustle to be recognized both working in public office, even doctor don't care using their policy to save life first before money.but today everything turn due to failure if the laws and policy examples when you help a person who have accident, doctor will ask for money first, if you come across to be Police you will write statement and many things that discouraged people to render such humanitarian assistance because most help turn to be a dangerous one base on the system of our laws and policy.

Though is not laughable as some person use it as medium to grow the social media .

Though I feel the reasons why people take photographs on Accident scene rather than helping the accident victim is because so that they can have a way of sending information to the relatives of the accident victim through social media because when they post the accident victim on social media, the relatives might bump into such photographs and identify the victim then thereby information can reach the person's family about the accident.
the situation of the victim.

That is a wrong approach, recue should come first. How can you be snapping when assistance is needed. Tender the help first then consequently you can snap for identification from friends and family. This act is peculiar with the feminine. They have socialize everything including person's life.

its why there are laws that people should not act like a doctor. and why people need to go to be properly trained in CPR to be "certified"

..
imagine you spot an accident. the person is on the ground slightly conscious and feels his leg in pain but able to move his legs.
if you intervene and try to move the person to safety. you can risk breaking their spinal cord and rendering them disabled..
its later found in the lawsuit that the accident did not cause the disability because the victim was able to move legs after accident. but became disabled due to the "saviour" intervening..
the "saviour" then has to pay millions of dollars in compensation

advice is dont touch the victim (police evidence gathering. and avoid risk of further damage) but to contact emergency services and follow their guidelines

Assuming it's a motor accident and some of the victims are under the car meaning that they might die as a result of the car density. It's abnormal to wait for the emergency unit. I think the best thing to do is to lift the car away from them first

My dear I,the thing tire me ooh, this world is getting out of hand ooh,you go see where person dey die instead of you to look for any means to help to save the life you go dey busy dey snap picture wey you go Post for Facebook, messenger or Instagram or WhatsApp, tell me how the picture of person wey won die and post am on the social media,, which help you help that person if the person later die,

E get the kind of thing wey go happen and if you snap picture e go make sense no be like person wey dey unconscious the thing wey you go do na to look for a nearest hospital to take him or her to for treatment after he or she is ok,you can then tell the story about how everything happens, but people of today chose to be the story teller than to save life,

So to me ooh I dey see people who choose to snap picture than to help in an accident as an evil people and they are the devil and manner less people, because person wey get conscious will not behave like that...

It's unfortunate that we're in a society whereby sometimes our good deeds becomes bad when things go wrong as one may try helping the victim and maybe the victim peradventure dies then you will see people asking the person that tried helping a lot of questions and besides if one must help accident victims, it ought to be trained personnel as trying to help when you ain't trained may worsten the situation of the victim.

In ₿ we trust
People first think about the likes on social media and then they think about the suffering of others, empathy no longer exists, everything is very superficial, especially feelings.

People value virtual life more than real life, unfortunately things will only get worse.
