After losing 0.02 BTC to ponzi games and reading some of the threads here, it seems that the ponzi games here end extremely quickly. A game that is designed to last a week such as WeeklyPonzi.com might only really last for an hour or so. It is common for those who deposited only a couple of hours after a game has started to not see any return at all. A game that is designed to last for 24 hours might only see those who deposited within the first 10-20 minutes make a profit.

From the payment list of Week #3, it seems the last deposit getting paid is the one made just 10 seconds after the round started lol.

if a ponzi offer you %0,01 per day, it will live maybe 20 years
but now they offer %100 in a coupple hours..
so they can't live even a month..
it's normal..

Those "cloud mining" ponzi do last longer. For example pbmining has a life of almost a year. Smiley

They dont want to leave so much information behind. They open a ponzi for a few hours, close it. Hide for a few days and than come back with another account and ponzi name.

simple, they reach their initial objective and walk away. be it your 0.02BTC or be it more. If you can get 0.02BTC from several schemes why would you bother to continue one and share your win with the initial investors?

People are generally aware of what happens with ponzis, and don't want to risk it.
-snip-

Yes. People know that only the first few investors really profit. And since you can see how many investors are there before you in a ponzi game, a lot of people are scared to risk anything if they're not one of the first ones to deposit.

Normal ponzi schemes aren't like this at all. They typically go on for days, weeks, and sometimes even years. Bernie Madoff's ponzi scheme lasted for almost two decades.

With the forums and the plethora of ponzis in the gambling section it makes sense for people to just post it then shut it down right after and make a new one, no incentive to keep long ones going since people will abandon it quickly enough.

That and their is little demand so they scrape and take what they can and go away with it, in my opinion may as well just gamble it in a dice game or something and maybe win something since the ponzis won't pay out  Grin

They end quickly because no one join ponzi scams any longer. The less people taking part, the sooner they end.

I don't like use the word "game", ponzi is an intentional scam, if everyone realizes it, all ponzis won't live long. CHEERS!

As you have noted, the sooner the game ends the quicker the "sponsor" gets your coins.

As numerous threads have made clear, most if not all of these are borderline scams.  At least in a casino you get the fun of picking your bets and such.

Yeah, that's what we need, proper Ponzi schemes that steal millions, not these crappy cheap copies.

the people that have created ponzis here recently are small minded and non creative. theyve not figured out how to get players to invest so once they make a small amount they just run off. its so easy to make a new account here and do the same thing over and over. and honestly theres not really any consequences when they do so

Because your 0.02BTC was the game. Once the scammer has some money there is little incentive to do anything except go shopping. In a real ponzi you are paying out initial "investors". But why even do that?

Yeah I second that. Most of the time I have the feeling they are unemployed kids seeking some funds online to buy the next call of duty game for free!  Cool

And you must have marked that there were only first 4 of all the investors in 24hourponzi.com that got paid today... Seems that this ain't just about the investment, it's also about the interest and trust of a person to either invest in ponzi and risk or just sit back and watch... I ain't encouraging you at any point to put your money in any of them, it was just an opinion...

Well, the victims of Madoff didn't know that they were part of a ponzi. It's much easier to string people along with long-term investments. No blockchain to monitor transactions either.

EDIT: Cryptory and pirateat40 were other ponzi schemes that lasted for several months/years.
