Government banned (or not supporting) bitcoin because

1. They dont gain tax from bitcoin.
2. Its decentralized, they cant control it.
3. Its not a secure investment.

They perceive as a threat. Some progressive countries like Japan see it as an opportunity.

I guess it is because they can't control bitcoin, and because it is so volatile no one can control it not even the government. The only thing they can do is to ban the usage of bitcoin. Governmwnt is also afraid it could be use in any legal transactions, and one of which is money laundering and it may also have a bad effect for the banks as well.

I See topics about banning and I want to ask.

Is botcoin really that bad? To banned by other countries?
Do the other government in other countries see something bad?
Can bitcoin be used to locate us?and see what we are doing? In short a Spyware.

Bitcoin is not bad, but it is the people who uses it to their advantage. Lets say for example, bitcoin is used in crimes or making it a drug money which is hard to trace because of its anonymity. Some countries banned bitcoin for security reasons, to prevent the bad elements to operate under their radar.

Some countries have an unstable economics due to their dependency to people's income tax. Cryptocurrencies can create an impact (even small) not only in their online market but also in their very own control over currencies that are circulating on them. Other countries however uses cryptocurrency as an opportunity to expand their market which is I think is clever.

Besides for the reason that it could be use as for the transaction illegal such as buying drugs, for pornography with the use of some softwares on the internet, they do ban it because there are lots of scammers who uses this thing to deceive people and they definitely does not want it. Despite of the good effects that bitcoin could bring they do not even hesitate to ban it.

With the reasons mentioned above indicate that many governments are not ready to face the development of the era. Authorized government officials should update their knowledge so that criminal acts committed with new technologies can be minimized. Banning bitcoin isn't wise enough from my perspective.

because it is out control of central bank and not depeond on $ or gold or oil
Based on my own observation about this , government banned bitcoin because they think that it used by some criminals. And maybe they believed that it cluld cause negativity on their country. In some cases they dont used properly the money they earned through bitcoin.

Govts ban Bitcoin and any form of Crypto payments since these types of transactions cannot be taxed and therefore will make them lose potential funds for the development of their respective country.

If this is true, do you have any proof to prove this? Because for me it is not the reason. Bitcoin is unstable that is why. The fact that there are still a lot of countries that accept this digital currency is the proof. Also, even if bitcoin and other digital currencies are banned, they can still use it as an investment online since it is only banned to be accepted in the country as a payment but not online.

Government ban bitcoin in their country or state beacause they find bitcoin a threat and not a opportunity. Bitcoin is a very volatile currency this time and it make some investor to gain profit very fast and make people stay in internet and not find actual job which make profit more in the country.

Broadly speaking, I conclude all the answers above, that the ban is groundless because the government can not control and take advantage of bitcoin.
But, why do not they imitate japan. Instead of banning, Japan actually embraced technology by providing high protection to its citizens who use digital currency to transact. thus Japanese citizens have protection from the free market of the digital currency.
If you look at Japan, the predicted countries are still the top five strong economies in the world until 2032 by the Center for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) based in London, England. japan chooses to make peace with technology.
Perhaps, the way that this Japan can be imitated. because, the possibility of the government will not be able to limit the development of blockchain to the future.

It is because if bitcoin or another cryptocurrency become widely adopted, the entire banking system could become irrelevant. While this may sound like a wonderful concept in light of the recent behavior of the banking industry, there are two sides to every story. Without banks, who will you call when your mortgage payment gets hacked? How will you earn interest on your savings? Who will provide assistance when a transfer of assets fails or a technical glitch occurs? While the financial crisis gave bankers an even worse reputation than they already had, there is something to be said for institutions that oversee timely, effective, and trustworthy asset transfers and their associated recordkeeping. There’s also the issue of the fees banks earn for the services they provide. Those fees generate a lot of revenue and a lot of jobs across the global banking industry. Without banks, those jobs disappear, as does the tax revenue those banks and their employees’ paychecks generate. Money transfer business would also disappear in a virtual world. Nobody needs Western Union or its competitors if everybody is using bitcoin.

Now this is indeed a deep question.I think the main reason behind banning bitcoin in some countries is because if all start using bitcoins for each and everything the government will not be able to collect tax which may lead to the downfall of the nation.A nation runs on it's taxes collected from it's people,if the government won't have any money then it will become a dire situation.

No my friend, did you forget the pros of bitcoin. It keeps the user anonymous.

Bitcoin is not banned because it is bad, it is banned because governments are not able to control it, cannot get taxes, and avoid money laundering.

No, Bitcoin is not bad. People use it at bad work like samugling, buy & sell weapons, drugs. But who discovered Bitcoin, he would not have this bad intension. Of course, he had discovered it for our good well. But some people are using it for bad work. For this some people the entire Bitcoin community are now getting punish by the government. I know what government are doing, it is for our good present & for good future. But they have to think that Bitcoin is not bad. Using badly is bad. If they accept it, we will also give them tax. I think government will think over it.

Any Government have no control to bitcoin, and anything without control can be banned at a moment. Still in many countries it is not clarified with any law it will be more al less legal: Ubi lex non distinguit, nec nos distinguere debemus
