The transaction in the blockchain now appears verified. Must appear in your Cryptsy account now.

[guessing]
It clearly has been transfered to another wallet and is confirmed as such. However it is not showing up in the exchange account. I would assume that means the exchange has received it in one of their wallets, but has not transfered/credited it to the users account.
Could that be it?

Wow, but how can that be possible? Here's what I thought would normally happen:

A wallet is sending a transaction to the P2P network.
Miners collect that transaction and put it into a block.
Now they try to find a hash with a certain set of characteristics (defined by the difficulty level).
The "number" that led to that hash is then propagated to the p2p network.
That process should happen roughly every 10 minutes.

now other clients in the p2p network can confirm that transaction and notify the p2p network of their finding.

Is that not how the proecss works in general?

If so - how can the processing of a transaction or its confirmation take hours or even days?

EDIT: the money just showed up in Cryptsy. I guess I will just have to wait :-)

Nope, nothing yet.

Well, here's what I did in Cryptsy:
Balances >> BTC Actions >> Deposit / Autosell BTC >> Copy the address that is being displayed to the clipboard

I used that address as target address in bitcoin.de

The other transaction to BTC-e made it through...

my last btc deposit took about 4 hours , normal fees, got 2 confirmations after 3 hours..

Already 6 confirmation. Still not show up ?
It has been sent and is being further confirmed. Perhaps Cryptsy has some internal stuff they do before crediting it to your account? If you have not done so yet, you should also confirm that you sent it to the correct address.

You can look up the transaction on:
https://blockchain.info/

e.g. look up the public adr. you send to.

Not sure. The platform bitcoin.de handles that automatically. How can I find out?

I transferred a small amount from bitcoin.de to BTC-e and Cryptsy over 1 hour ago but they don't show up.
According to blockchain.info, it took almost 1 hour before the 1st confirmation was created on one of the transactions.

I do understand that transactions take 10min on average but I don't understand >1hour.

Could someone explain to me why this might happen?

Thanks
Matt
