There are too many accounts that makes advertisements that all members and moderators of this forum cannot handle alone.
Which is a bullshit excuse. Had this been the policy from the beginning, it would be almost trivial to combat it now.

Theymos is way too liberal to run a forum where his word is final IMO. BTCT is in a catastrophic state where the common occurrences are:
1) Account farming / shit posting.
2) People getting scammed or otherwise damaged (e.g. bullied by trolls and scammers).
3) Fake news.
4) Propaganda.

I am on the telegram groups of some upcoming ICO, and what some of the admin say/answer questions makes it so obvious its a scam. I've seen an admin accept cash in exchange for coins. yet there are people falling for it. when will they smarten up.

Because the owner of this forum allows it, unlike any other forum I've ever seen.  Shouldn't surprise anyone.  I'm starting to think there are like a dozen or so honest people in crypto altogether.   Ban copy pasters but let scammers continue.  Why?  Because apparently it's much harder to recognize scams--and they'll just do it somewhere else.   Great logic.

there a lot of promising ICO, but it you should be at least be wise and careful, you see may flaws about the ICO if then voice out your question to the OPS as everything directly or in PM or in post. in this forum there a lot of people and as i know dev have many account, you will not get banned as you dont violate the rules and regulation of this forum. This is what i use to do i have portfolio of different ICO and check there papers i bookmark ICO that scam also the team and dev. so if i see them again on other Thread i will sure that the upcoming ICO are scam too.

Do we have a consolidated list of known scams somewhere?

No product, shitty designs, no team info. No nothing. Promising $30 for a tweet to get some attention and scam people.

Therefore prior to following or investing in an ico. we should research about the ico. For the moment I have not found a filter for ICO procurement itself. But mostly from this forum sometimes there is someone I am very happy with the world of graphic design. so I am so perfection when judging a design. I see the logo design and white paper is less neat. I just look from the perspective design not to the team and others.

That is also confusing to me. But I think if they are not violating any rules at all, they won't get banned nor their thread or posts locked. A lot of ICOs are accused of being scams, projects as well, but they remain posted here and are even open for further posts. Look at Skyway or Monkey Capital or Lust.

The other day I saw someone posting to sell high ranked accounts on the forum. I was surprised to see many wanting to buy. Basically, you need to use your own judgment, scammers are everywhere. It's sad but true.

Because, few people on these forums asks enough questions. There is so many ways to manipulate ICOs and all that bullshit, if you see a scam, then call it out for all members.

Point out what's wrong with the ICO. A lot of these devs have many many accounts, and their own BTC to invest, they float on their own money and own talk to reel in the suckers.

If something doesn't seem legit, then it's probably not legit. Don't risk your bitcoins or your money to fund the fucking scammers and the 5-10 crypto teams that own over 80% of the shitcoins.

They claim their "ICO" has no ether investors because everyone is paying through paypal and debit cards.

Why are these people allowed to scam people here? This sort of bullshit can KILL ethereum and btc. Let's put a stop to it.
