I agree, anyway this situation or similar situations, better to be  in safe and as soon is a  possible to transfer money in another purse. Better to spend an extra 10 minutes than to lose all money.

This is not possible until and unless you or any person who has access to the private key of your address makes a transaction.
The transaction could be ETH transaction or an ERC20 token transaction. Paste your ETH address in an ETH chain explorer and find out if the transaction details. If you have done a token transfer then the gas amount would be used from your ether wallet an hence the ETH would have been decreased.

P.S : You should have posted your eth address so that we could verify what the problem was

Many people are also wondering why bitcoin prices have fallen to date with the ethereum, especially the ethereum, as it really is the biggest drop in today.

It was normal for the price of bitcoins to drop because they are selling their coins at its lowest price, just keep on holding today in order to avoid losing your investments.

if the amount of eth that were lost are just little, then it's probably you have done some transactions like sending tokens or executed some internal transactions of smart contract.  if it's quite big, then maybe you spent some eth that you forgot.  go to etherscan.io to check for transaction history.  if your eth wallet is compromised/hacked, I think your balance will be quite near to 0.

anyway, just to be safe, transfer all your eth and tokens into a new wallet.

until now, i believe you have to do one transaction per token in your address.  is there a better way to transfer all contents (eth+tokens) of an address to a new one in one transaction and lowest cost?

I just have a question. i am just new in this venture. I have this new myetherwallet account and put some particular eth coin. i was not able to open the account for 1-2weeks due to some reasons. I opened it yesterday and my eth went down. i understand that the equivalent price for an eth is dynamic, but not the eth itself.  does my own eth also move in response to the market movement even if you dont do anything on it yet? thank you for the help.
You can see that the market is down in the downtrend phase, even though the price of ETH in recent days is rising very strongly but still can not overcome the resistance at the $ 300 level, I believe that at this time of the market You should only invest in short-term in bitcoin, as ETH is currently experiencing a lot of bad news and prices may fall further.

Your eth itself went down? Meaning regardless of value your eth quantity went down? Maybe because the transaction fees that is why your eth quantity went down? Because it is impossible if you have the private key and then your eth went down without your control.

I am not sure that somebody is able to answer to your question and to explain the reasons because there is no anybody who knows exactly why ETH is so weak crypto asset even comparing with BTC. We just can suppose but no more. I have been observing ETH since ETH was 500$. I was absolutely sure that 500$ was so low price but I mistook. Now I think that ETH will be beneath 300$ several months and it is possible that ETH will go down even lower than 200$. Actually I do not know what is causing of such a downtrend in ETH but I understand that ETH is one of the worst assets gight now for investing. It is a pity if I could I would better buy BTC instead of ETH but now I am in a mesh by holding ETH without any positive changes in the near future.

It is because there are many people spreading FUD, specially those whales because they want to buy cheaper ethereum. They know that ethereum will spike at the end of 2018 because of the upcoming big update of ethereum.

You can see that ETH is experiencing a lot of serious FUD from the manufacturer, so the price of ETH is constantly decreasing, which makes investors lose confidence and start to divest. In addition, the market is in a bear market in the long term and ETH too, which is why the price of ETH is falling very deep and difficult to recover.

It suffered but it's not out. Hopefully eth supporterd were able to buy below 300 usd since it seems it's ready to recover now along with btc. End of the year is always when the market comes to life and i've always considered eth to be a long term coin anyways.

ETH is going through a difficult time unlike BTC. I don't know what the reason might be. It is very surprising that ETH who has a high use case will be the worst hit in this bear market. Well, am confident, it will recover because the product behind it is good.

Certainly etherium can change if the exchange rate has decreased or increased even though you don't run the etherium in trading every day, there may be a time for the market to experience turmoil going forward along with the circulation of various issues regarding the world of cryptocurrency.

thank you for the help. you have a very good point. if im going to hack an account i will surely zero it. on my case it just took a portion of it. weel, compromised or not, i think i don't mind creating another MEW and transfer everything. and from now on, keep track of every move that I'm going to do. cheers everyone!

Mind giving us your Etherium address so we can looked at the transactions? Maybe you just forgot what you did on the way but the problem might not be because your address was compromised or you are a victim of a fraud. Just curious because there is still leftover. So unusual.

Well then go on and create another MEW. Just be sure that you will be more attentive and cautious this time. Take that as your experienced.

P.S LOL with other replies.

Wow this was the first time I heard of something like this,i wonder how it goes when your ethereum wallet eats you ethereum coins, sounds funny and strange..maybe better check your transactions if you made some accidental movement for your funds

No, your eth holding doesnt go down with market. This has nothing to do with it. Probably, you made a transaction for eth or an erc token..and some eth was deducted as gas fees. Otherwise, there should be no reason why you Eth would go down.
yes, I agree with what you say, if no one hacks your wallet, the only other reason is the cost of gas, how come if you do not lose your eth transaction by itself, or the biggest possibility of that could have hacked the wallet you.

It is not only for you it is same for everyone. Eth is went down because of many reasons. Market capasities and circulating capasities are changing rapidly. We can not guess the reason exactly. The only thing which we have to do is keep belive in eth and bitcoin. It is important. In near future eth and btc will be up. When it happens we can get profits. In thepresent market we had better invest in eth

It is obviously because all the market is going down it is an overall mood which is present in 100% of coins presented in the stage right now, so all of them are falling not the particular ones.

If you have ether in the purse of myetherwallet, then it simply is there. Its amount doesn't decrease and doesn't increase if you didn't make the transaction and either didn't bring it out or put it into the wallet. If you yourself didn't make any transactions, but your balance has changed, then maybe your wallet was compromised. Also, there is a possibility that you originally registered on a fishing site.
Phishing site might be the reason, because MEW will not maintenance for almost 2weeks. Your actual eth should not be decrease if you don’t do anything on that, maybe its just a paper loss but still your ETH is there. Let’s be careful next time because a lot of hackers are out in this market, protect your wallet as much as possible.

It should not move.
I bet you are not hacked too. Cause if you are then there should be zero balance in your account.

One thing I am thinking of the reason behind the deduction of your balance.
It could be that you have used some of it for gas price. You can check your transactions in etherscan. Everything will be there.
You can calculate there what transaction you have done and also when you did it.

Everything is all interconnected in the world of cryptocurrency due to the traders and investors switching way to make profits. That's why the level and prices are constantly changing in a way of manner that sometimes unpredictable to notice. All of this you are feeling right now might be temporary so does the drop of prices too because everything will going to back in normal again once they've gone to the other side.
hopefully all will soon return to normal prices. a lot of hope in Q4, where cryptocurrency price habits will rise, this is by looking at the market habits of the previous year. but it is not a guarantee

Man, sincerely regret of your loose. It's always a pain in the crypto world to keep thing safe.

Are your 100% sure you obtained an official ETH wallet and kept your password and safe phrase in a safe place?
You are lucky still to get access and remain some ETH.

Get new wallet, transfer the funds, turn on 2FA and try to figure out what were the last transactions.

It is a bit impossible for the amount of holding to decrease unlike the market value of most cryptos which do so. Given thay that you have met a problem which pushed you on not to open your account for a couple of weeks, maybe it is just a "bug" or something like that wspecially if you didn't have fast transactions. Also, if it is hacked, nothing will be remained because he will surely get all of it.

If the amount of ETH itself went down then you got hacked or you created a wallet in a phishing site and a hacker is stealing your money, create a new wallet in a safe computer without viruses in the right site or install a desktop wallet, do not waste time or there is a chance that you are going to lose all your coins, and next time be more careful with your coins.

The market status does affect the number of eth or any other token in your holdings. It might likely be that your wallet has been compromised by some scrupulous elements. I would advise you to create a new myetherwallet and move your remaining eth there or download imtoken. Sorry about your loss!  Don't be discouraged.

No. Your ETH should not be fewer. Can you check the status of your wallet on etherscan.io and see any outgoing transactions? Its weird to see your ETH decreasing and the only "guess" as to why it is happening is that you have been hacked and they are stealing your ETH.

If you mean that after a while you saw a decrease in the number of ethereum in your MyEtherWallet purse, this should not happen. To find out what's the matter, you need to log into etherscan.io right in your wallet or dial it on Google and see all the transactions in ethereum in this wallet. If there were any movements of ethereum or tokens, it would show all the necessary information about such movements.

This is quite confusing. If its about the dollar price of etherum, the price should go down because market is down at the moment. If its etherum equivalent, you need to protect your account better. Better still, open another account and take your coins to the new account. It would be better that way

But the main reason for ETH go down is the whales.
The value of  your Ether in the wallet is directly proportional to the value of the market. If the market price was high your ether would have been high also but the market is volatile and keep moving according to the sentiments of the market.
That's not what he's asking, you illiterate and irrelevant shitposters.  He understands that the price can decrease, but apparently the number of ETH he has in his wallet decreased.

I know next to nothing about the mechanics of ETH-based tokens, but the explanation that it takes "gas" to send them makes sense to me, and hopefully that's why the coins are missing.  I would think that if the wallet was compromised, the hackers would have taken everything he had.  Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Something is wrong here.

I am pretty sure your account has been compromised and someone does have the private keys for your wallet one way other. Because you stated that you was not able to login for many weeks into it and suddenly you logged in yesterday and saw the funds were down.

Just take the snapshot of transaction made through your wallet and see if there is any outgoing ETH transaction! If there is any transaction then surely someone hacked it.

Better to transfer the funds to new wallet and make sure for new wallet you have more precaution and store the private key somewhere really safe.

thank you for the help. every reply has the same suggestion. actually, that's what I'm planning to do now. to create another MEW and transfer everything. and also make sure to be careful of my private code from now. cheers everyone!

If the amount of token itself (ETH) had been decreased then theres a possibility that someone do have access on your wallet or you do make transactions which you do make transfers but as you said you haven't done anything on 2weeks time for several reasons which means theres only 1 possibility that your wallet might be compromised. If you do talk about usd value then its just normal because ETH do reacts on how this market moves. Its much better to post screenshots for us to look at on whats happening.

I think because of two main reasons:
- The Miner: we don't know how about the max supply of ETH, and it still mineable. Miners need cash out their ETH for maintaining their mining rig.
- ICOs: yes, almost ETH belong to them. A project needs the fiat money for their development after ICO, then they will dump their collected ETH.

Maybe you mean that the value of your Ethereum went down and not the content itself. It's because the price of Eth went down rapidly that is why your eth went down also.
No you must read again what OP wrote. He said his ETH went down when he can't login after some time. It's clearly his MEW was compromised. He didn't sent any token since he can't open his wallet for some reasons.

They suspected that the OP's account are attack by hacker in this situation you must do another MyEtherWallet account and transfer the funds. For the safety you must keep your private keys and avoid to click an any phishing link.

If you look up the market now, etherium price is going down, and even the other coins is dumps its price value, therefore  we conclude thats due to the bloodish market ethereum itself will be affected, therefore if the etherium equivalent value  is going down the etherium also its value vecone affected and this fluctuation are we called volatility in the market,so we must accept the facts everythings about in crypto sometimes are risky.

ethereum recently has a bearish sign. At present of course rising transaction fees will make investors feel disappointed, but the market will soon rise again and help generate profit offset for what has been lost in the past.

No, your eth holding doesnt go down with market. This has nothing to do with it. Probably, you made a transaction for eth or an erc token..and some eth was deducted as gas fees. Otherwise, there should be no reason why you Eth would go down.

Here is what I think and questions that I would like to ask....

First I see that you are in trouble and other saying that you had been hacked or what

I would say it was because of the Ethereum download of the cryptocurrency market but reading your post carefully and basing on thers post this is bad I can not help you but I can help you to prevent it again.

Now here is the question

1. Have you been using any kind of divices from the computer shop or other diveces that you use that does not  beling to you?

2. Have you been doing something like downloading stuff from your own device the same time use you account to log in your device?

--------
If you are doing things lwhat I said above  you should be careful and further for most links when you looking at the link and entering anything be sure that there is no exe at the end.
Also of you may go to youtube or Google you can search how to detect fake phishing links.

There are many reasons to answer your question. But the main reason for ETH go down is the whales. They continue to create a downward trend for the market, believing that the market is going down, many investors will accept losses and sell their ETH, they will take advantage of this to buy ETH at cheap rates.

It may go down because of fee if you have sent a token to other wallet, otherwise it does not decrease itself.

It definitely looks strange. Because, either you did some transactions on your own, or your account has been hacked. But then again, why would a hacker take just a fraction of your ETH? Usually they would empty the account to zero.

I suggest you to go to:

https://etherscan.io/

In the upper right corner you will find an empty field. Here you can enter your public key (ETH address, starting with 0x...) and click on GO. Then you can check the list of transactions related to your ETH address. This will give you more info about what could have happened.

Maybe you should start moving your funds to a new MEW account as the only way something like that would happen is if your account has already been compromised. On a normal day, you cannot experience any reduction in your ETH quantity.

Are you sure you did not make any ERC20 transaction and you got scooped for fees? Just trying to wrap my head around what could be wrong asides your account being hacked?

Have you checked previous transactions? You can do that on https://etherscan.io without having to log in to your MEW account. Probably from there you may know how the reduction came about.

This is strange as I am hearing this type of happening for the first time and I suspect that your account or wallet maybe hack. A lot of things are happening and you should watch how you save your private keys in other not to have this type of stories that touched the heart.
