I would just focus on price realized and not to crazy listings on ebay. Some people try to hit the jackpot with random numbers Roll Eyes

The forum offers the chance to grab items at the lowest possible price because people will list here their items as first place.
In some cases you can get for free. Or you can get a specific edition maybe with nice addon (like a "signature" etc etc..)

For sure if you want to buy a specific coin or note and you don't know directly the producers/collectors/ etc you CANNOT buy at the lowest price but you can take ONLY in ebay.
Yes there are major auctions like SB and HA but for me as EU citizen it's more simple to use this platform. and you need to wait they list it.

I will also see some "numbers". Of course there are just few people that know there are "collectibles" for crypto and bitcoin.
fewer will known there is a forum. fewer will know there is a dedicated section for it.
Even if you know this, there are no "hundreds" of listing like ebay, but maybe each week there are 30-50 new items offered to new collectors.

Probably this spread will become less during the years. Or people at a certain Wink point will just stop listing here ...

yeah ebay is better for silver rounds or bars than it is for crypto coins.

but it does not match here for prices.

Just find good sellers here that do not cheat and you can get a better deal here almost

every time.

heck I sold over 10,000 usd worth of silver bars and rounds here below market cost  in

2024  alone.

If it wasn’t for eBay I would never have discovered the forum. I purchased a 0.01 Microsoul coin from member hephaist0s back in the day, and because of Gravitate’s incompetency it led me here! Paid up on eBay for an introduction to the rabbit hole that is the forum!  Cheesy

I recently browse the e-bay just to check how much is the market value of some of my collectibles especially satori chip and I noticed that they are selling at least x2 of the price here there which makes me wonder if there’s really a lot of buyer there willing to pay high price of coins that sold here low.

Does collectible section in the forum is the perfect place to purchase coin for resellers? Or those e-bay sold count is fake? I’m not using e-bay so I don’t what’s the process of selling item there.

I think it's the high fees. Sold a 1HODLCLUB 5 oz Silver Ingot (which sold successfully) for $3,800 minus $500 selling fees that were deducted from my earnings (which is insane). It's this reason why sellers are forced to sell their collectibles at 2x - 3x times their prices.

Selling directly for BTC is the best way, but not many people are aware of this forum (not to mention, not many people know how to pay with BTC, calculate network fees, etc). So those are the ups and downs of selling on a centralized marketplace like eBay vs selling on your own without middleman (in-person, through this forum, etc). I usually keep an eye out for BTC/crypto collectibles on eBay with a low starting bid. You can snag a decent collectible for a pretty good deal if you're lucky.  Smiley

They are definitely paying the higher prices there. I think that most new physical bitcoin collectors start on ebay for simplicity. After awhile they migrate to the forum. The forum is complex and takes awhile to understand and use. Its also intimidating to new buyers. I purchased many coins on ebay at the start. Even after i learned of the forum it was a year before i actually started bidding on things.

Agreed... Ebay was the first place I was introduced to crypto physicals
My first purchase was a knock-off Lealana 25 LTC coin for $10 Tongue

We have had and still have multiple eBay resellers on this page. Hard way to make a living if there are active bidders on auctions. They cost me ALOT for stuff I want to keep just for stuff they want to flip - oh well, fair market and good for the sellers… but on another note, fuck them guys lmao.

Crypto market is finicky, also why most of them don’t stay around forever. When it’s dead, nobody is buying. Add in seller fees and 1099 reported to the tax man (plus sales tax and shipping for buyer) - makes it a hard way to make real money

I would think the fees involved are a part of the asking price. Those fees can get pretty high, I still don't understand how people are able to sell gold and silver at the prices they do, because I am pretty sure they still have the final value fee, which is not cheap.  I also think sometimes people just throw a high number out there and if some sucker buys it then ok! There the buyers may not know "market value" like we do here, though in my opinion i think we are pretty stingy here as most are paying in precious BTC.

I think also, ebay you don't know if the guy is a scammer or not, there have quite alot of shady listings from a seller in some remote country with zero feedback. Not exactly comforting to spend thousands of dollars with some random seller. At least on forum we have our merit and some trusted escrows.
