I gave the seed to 2 people who I trust with my life in case I am disabled or when I die. I almost wrote if I die but that would be stupid.

I just started with electrum. I like it because it is "instant use", no need to download blockchain. The deterministic addresses can be seen as a disadvantage for some, but it is a good idea to have all your addresses backed up by just a few words. Less chance of loosing funds from one or two new addresses since last wallet backup.
