Why you don't try to do it yourself? Fill out a complaint to the police about this scam or how you were scammed?
If you have strong evidence that these operations involve money laundering or support to certain entities, I think you will find a quick response from Interpol and others.
There are examples of similar business closures/sized ----> Europol Shuts Down $200 Million Crypto Mixing Service.

Until then, try to warn everyone about startminer.com Scamming.

Can anyone tell me how hard it is to catch the people behind the massive online bitcoin mining scam startminer.com ?

I see they have scammed millions from their ponzi scheme of bitcoin mining yet they are still operational

Is it that hard for police or FBI to catch the owners behind it?
If they want, not that hard, depends on wish of needs.
Also if we consider the fact that website's Alexa Rank is 31,841 (which has to do something with traffic), I would say that website isn't that popular to make a scam of millions. (I want to remind you that most people deposit low amount of money, not thousands).
On another hand this isn't the major problem of police or FBI to pray on such websites. You have brain which has the ability of thinking and that ability must be used before making any action, especially on such one. Don't take it wrongly, just saying.

The way I see it, these agencies will not act unless proper complaints are filed against any Ponzi-type companies.
And not just a single complaint, it has to be a massive amount of complaints before they even take notice about it, Bitconnect is one of the examples.
Also, I bet these agencies got other priorities than protecting dumb people and making them aware not to invest in these obvious scams.
They wont really waste up their time on catching these people and i agree on what you have said.If said complaints would already come to a point
where its already piled up then thats the time they would take action but for only a few identity? No doubt that they would just reject nor ignore this one.
We have been advised for a thousand times on not to invest with these ponzi schemes but people do still continue to do foolish things and they do cry later on
when they got scammed where 1st to approach to local police or even international ones which is dumb.

I am sure you think FBI just go searching for websites on the internet and start catching them to face the law. If that is the way they work, then they would probably have locations all over the world with their workforce being the largest of all. The point is there is a way things work and it has to follow the route. So you know, the FBI does not have jurisdiction outside the United States and if the site is not hosted in the States or decides to shut out US citizens what would FBI then use as a motive to go after them. Again, for them to go after such, most times there is need to be a petition and that is always hard to come by. The most effective way is to continuing educating members of the public in ensuring that they are more careful in their dealings and quest to make money on the internet.

They are scammers and successful scammers for a reason that they are able to pull the wool over authorities.

Best you become aware of them being scam and tell your friends and family about it. That is what you can do to prevent them from getting scammed.

Bitcoin itself is a big grey area when it comes to law enforcement. BadBitcoin is a good site where you can report anonymously to FBI but then again prevention is better than cure. They do bust these groups at times which comes out in the crypto news media. However like I said, make others aware so they dont waste a couple of hundred dollars on these scams before the authorities can take any action, if at all.

The only possibility that a website will be shutdown is when they already have receive enough complaints against it like what they have done to Bitconnect but mostly scams where even the victims are not coming in front of them you won't really see any kind of authority doing the first move since chances are they really don't know anything about the scam that happened with that website in the first place. So if you think that startminer has a lot of victims I think what you should do it to file a proper complaint to them together with your fellow victims to have these kinds of websites shutdown. Just like what stompix said this isn't hollywood and even the victims need to do something in order for them to recover their funds.

Interpol and FBI has no time to bust this small time investment scam. Even white hats hacker can take them down and also not very alarming since only few people might gonna fall on this shitty scam. Honestly, I never here startminer until you post this thread.

Why FBI or Interpol is not shutting down startminer.com

Because this is not Hollywood.

Interpol is not arresting people, shutting down meth labs or catching terrorists, as the name suggests in interconnects police agencies across the world, if none of those opened an investigation against startminer then that's it.

Now for the FBI, I'm going to ask you something, have you filled complain to your police about this scam or how you have been scammed?
Do you really think the police have nothing else to do than scan the net every day for thousands of ponzi schemes out of which 99% disappear before they would be able to even make an inquiry or file a report?
