There is a lot of friendly people around here that you will meet, from all walks of life. This place isn't THAT exciting but I can see how it might be if you just got here, see you around the forums!

Hi everyone, and thanks for the comments!

As I mentioned in my original post, I am aware of the negatives as well. However, I'm quite convinced it is actually a very small fraction of ill-willed people who are causing most of the "dark side" phenomena to occur.

While I'm relatively new to the crypto scene, I've been around and involved in all sorts of online and IRL projects for a long time. Without being blind to the obvious problems, I'm still saying I have never seen another scene with so much people with genuine good will.

These are very interesting times in so many levels. While the crypto scene is growing stronger by the day, the "real" world out there is showing more and more signs of collapsing into it's own conflicts. While it's becoming more and more difficult to say anything certain in the middle of such radical shifts and changes, I do see the significance of both cryptos and the related technologies growing into a truly reality shifting force in the very near future.

I felt the same last summer - a honeymoon phase. Later on
I've had encounters that have curbed a little my initial enthusiasm.
But not all of it has been drained. It's an incredibly exciting technology after all
with many yet-unforeseen uses and variations. And most of the people
in the scene are great folks when you get acquainted with them. So thank
you Jyri for this reminder, and thank all of you.

Let's keep it real..

+1 on that, mostly.
The crypto scene is (mostly) amazingly friendly, especially outside BTT........I've set up a NXT promo booth in a BitCoin Foundation run conference, and had nothing but fun, games and excellent deals for 3 days.  Same story all over in the physical world: crypto guys/girls are generally pretty good people.......

I think the anonymity afforded by a forum simply brings out the worst in some, take a look at pretty much any comments section. Add in a few genuinely scammy assholes and you can get the impression that crypto is indeed full of horror, which isn't really true. It's just a very small minority of idiots causing all the shit.

Stay positive, Jyri!

Huffingtonpost wrote something about
Quote
GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — The U.S. Justice Department said Thursday Indian tribes can grow and sell marijuana on their lands as long as they follow the same federal conditions laid out for states that have legalized the drug.
So back on track, what does that imply for crypto scene? Country coins are so-la-la-la, and I (dont) remember where was that 1 coin focused onto a tribe? MazaCoin?

All I can say for sure is that most non-completely-legal endeavors (Silkroads) are currently at their all time low, facing their trials. Whatever starts to grow into that niche left wide open now, might not necessarily feel bound to former coins, but roll their own.
I am curious how this will develop.

Dear everyone,

just a quick outburst of positive energies. Wink

I'm a 40-years old entrepreneur and innovator who has seen a lot and been involved in hundreds of different projects, start-ups etc.

Never in my life have I seen so many positive, co-operative and innovative people at one place as there are in the crypto currency community.

I just keep getting stunned by the amount of genuine good will and unselfish behavior I'm faced with basically every time I get involved in a new project here.

Yes, there are scammers and trolls and all the rest - but they form a tiny marginal compared to the overwhelming amount of people who work together towards a common goal, which (as I see it) is the development of the best alternative(s) to the fraud based fiat currencies. Even when there is competition and schisms between projects, the game rarely gets really dirty.

It will be very interesting to see what comes out of this all in the next ten years or so. I'm not sure if most of the folks around here actually realize that it's currently the scene that pushes forward not just technologies related directly to crypto, but web and peer technologies in general as well.

This is quite simply the coolest shit in existence.

I'm so happy to have found my way here and will keep doing my best to support the community in every way available to me.
