The .net site is now down. It looks like the people in charge of it got spooked with all of the attention their scam was getting.

..

I was told by someone else that amazonbitcoins.net was a replacement for amazonbitcoins.com. I didn't check it myself, which I usually do before I recommend things to people. I broke my own rule: never recommend something unless I have first hand experience with what I'm recommending.

I'd like to apologize to the Bitcoin community and to Brian Ethier and Co. for going against my own code and making life more difficult for others in the process. Thanks also to Brian for his email alerting me to my mistake.

It would help the community if you edited your post to be a warning to NOT use amazonbitcoins.net. They have not only copied our site, but they have also stolen our identity and are scamming users who send them bitcoins.

I've sent a message to Severian asking him to edit his post as to reduce the confusion and to prevent anyone else falling victim to the scammers.

At least Brian looks legit, seeing as how the site clearly says it got canned.

I am the creator of AmazonBitcoins.com, Brian Ethier. This is an urgent warning. DO NOT under any circumstances use AmazonBitcoins.net

They are impostors, and have ripped off our site, and identities to scam people. We are getting to the bottom of who has done this.

Follow our real site, and my twitter for updates:

you receive a gift code that you can use on Am...com

They don't order for you. Again, my first two transactions were OK.

I don't know what to say at this point if they can be trusted or not. In the beginning, there is this Brian who talks to you real time to answer any questions.

The original site (.com) got shut down, they changed it from .com to .net. It's the .net that I have not had any success yet.

I haven't heard of that service. Did you research them before ordering?

I assume they just order stuff from amazon for you?

I got the gift code quite fast first couple times. This time, it's been 24 hours, no confirmation, no gift code, no response to email???

I spent my bitcoins via the amazonbitcoin service a couple weeks ago. Everything went through OK, although my second bigger transaction got held up by 6 hours. I want to spent more now, but the site is gone. anyone know why?
