ICOs have to liquidate their Ethereum warchests at some point as they need to fund their companies and pay staff. This would not occur if cryptos were accepted on the high street more often. As such it is not market sentiment but a dumb fund-raising model (the ICO) that is at fault.

It definitely will and it is not until the weak hands like the OP who thinks downtrend is equivalent to death get to leave the market out of frustration before we will start seeing a very good movement upward.

There is nothing that has a beginning that does not have an end, and same thing applies to downtrend and uptrend. If people cannot understand that downtrend, is a good opportunity to be buying, then I wondered what they have been learning all these while, when relating to investment.

The thing is that in the last year a lot of ICO on the basis of Ethereum has been held and now the project developers (scammers) sell Ethereum at any price.

I don't know why, but I know that many ICO projects sell Ethereum together. This surprised me. What do they think of the cryptocurrency market?

I think the suitable question for this is why bitcoin, ethereum and other popular coins are not dead despite the massive falls and bloodbaths that drains the market down, you may have the simplest answer for that instead of that repetitive questions during the fall of the price and Moon threads when the price was increasing not that high, they are proven, working, community and trust.

The fall of the ether contributes to many factors. If many reset the aether, then naturally the price on the market will fall, and the drop of it will have a very bad effect on the ICO. For their project, many broadcasts are needed, and no one invests these ethers, and therefore the project is either extended or closed.

There are many causes that cause ethereum prices to decline, but the main cause is because bitcoin is bearish.

The influence of bitcoin prices with other coins is very large.

Different factors influences the price of digital currencies, and the volatility means that such pumps and dumps are natural with cryptocurrencies.
A huge drop doesn't mean a dead currency, it means you should buy more.

Anyone can say whatever they want to say about Ethereum, for me after Bitcoin, Ethereum is next, people talk about the price dumping but so is Bitcoin from $20k to $6k. Ethereum is suffering from its own success and all the speculative value  would be erode until the real value start picking. It is a good technology and have a very strong community around

ethereum will survive this fall, because not everyone wants loss and not everyone sells it, only some people panic. some of the holders still survive and continue to hold eth until it rises again.

   Developers selling all the Ethereum they collected from the ICO's,
promoters selling for profit, buyers from pre-sale selling for profit.
We have too many sellers and to little buyers, laws of supply & demand
are dictating the price.
   I think that Ethereum price will grow back to $1000 and more. I strongly
believe in that and I will hold all my Ethereum's. Like I stated before I will
buy more in this times, Ethereum is long-term investment.

In relation the current market is inevitable to find comments on the top 10 and Bitcoin and Ethereum are the first to be commented and criticized and we can wait more. We are in Q4 of 2018 and there is probably a chance the market will reverse due to launches and meetings in developed countries attracting bigwigs or institutions. However currently prices do not match and Ethereum may suffer reversal or seek new support.

I think the problem is not in the coin itself, but what surrounds it, for example in the cryptocurrency market, not since the distant time the market is in a dangerous zone of destruction, and is not improving.

No ethereum will not die. This is common question about ethereum. This coin have big chance to increase.
That price is good to buy more ethereum because you will get more profit if you hold more months and few years ethereum. Possible also to you to become millionaire if you invest big to ethereum.

It's not dying, it is a good opportunity to other crypto investors to buy ethereum at lower price and hold until it bounce back to the best price. Ethereum has a good project that has strong community and with the adoption of smart contract this will help rise the ethereum price soon.

Crap over crap! It is pathetic when people just assume that because a market is in a downtrend, it is dying. That is a funny way to go about things. The reason being that so many people lack the knowledge required to even be investing in the first place which is why utterances like this will always be common.

If you are seeing it as a problem and you feel it is dying, you can as well just stay away. Over time, I am sure, it is a question you would not have to ask again when you eventually miss the train and you never ended up buying the dips.

I don't think ETH is going to die cause all other cryptocurrencies in crypto market are being in the same situation and this terrible time will last till the end of this month at least . I don't really know the reason for this falling but I think the whales are working really hard to dump price of all cryptocurrencies .

It will not die. The market is only affected by the world economy is going down now. Do not worry too much about this. If you believe in the growth of Crypto, maintain it and you will get a great result in the future. 

Just like Bitcoin we have decline in demand rate for Ethereum also one more reason is panic selling which are more in numbers these days which is foolish mentality. Traders should think professionally and not with short decisions which will result positively if they perform it by professional way. So all we need is to buy it on low price as these are available now and hold it for high market.

And they are looking to buy it at the cheapest price possible. ETH is the best altcoin if it dies, the whole altcoin will turn into rubbish, so I also agree this is a temporary discount and ETH will grow in the future and will create a higher price 2018

The altcoin market can't last forever. Especially because it's a zero-sum game. Bitcoin is great as an alternative to gold, that is it's killer app. It is unable to be influenced by state actors and it has a finite amount of coins. This is good for storing value during macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties. Altcoins really don't have a use besides making money, as you say. Whenever you make money in altcoins, you are making the money that someone else has lost. That is zero-sum. Eventually, people won't be able to make money with the altcoins anymore and they will just sell them off until they are 0. Who knows, maybe that is whats happening right now.

That's right because the only thing that prevent bitcoin to be dumped more than altcoins because it can be considered as the best crypto to store our value while at the same time so many people are using altcoin to become money machine. Look at the market and it looks how it works today. people consider altcoin as the place to make money.

I think the market situation is too bad for ethereum as the price is keep on falling. Too much of the supply that being flooded on the exchanges that causes the price to hit the bottom. Although I still believe that this currency will bounce back after a couple of months and with the strong community supports then we can recover from this dumps and reach another milestone for ETH.

most people are blind, or allow to be blinded by emotions. They listen to fud instead doing research themselves. If you look at the fundamentals of Ethereum, it has a brighter outlook than ever. Casper is being developed and almost ready which will solve part of the scaling issue and even sharding will be possible in the future, also the programming language solidity will be upgraded to vyper which makes easier to code in Ethereum.

Giving all these developments, Ethereum stands a high chance to defend it’s position from all the next gen platforms that have nothing but potential tech. They don’t have the brand, they don’t have the ecosystem, they do not have developers that have experience with their platform.

Right now, 9 out of 10 projects are still launched on Etheteum, despite many alternatives. If it was the opposite case, and people are fleeing to other platforms in combination with the falling price, then yes you should get out out. But this is not the case, the price decline is only related to fud and selling pressure from ICOs.

Ethereum is not a shitty altcoins so this question is bullshit, I have no doubt that it will rise so much after this bear market ends. ETH is one of the best coins.

Since price falling one side other people getting on having their fund alternate cryptocurrencies if the value goes dump in the market at that time we will be find the bitcoin volume dominance will be increased in the market.

If you believe the worth of ETH will be increased then invest do not show your blind belief on cryptocurrencies.

Despite the fact that ETH is the most powerful project on the market, it is not normal to fall so much. But BTC keeps up very tightly.

I dont know honestly, but I really miss good ICOs which provide something meaningful that you can use in everydays life.

I think that the Ethereum drop will stop, but the quality of ICOs are also a good point to know. People invest less in ICOs, because it do not bring some profits and we see the projects under the ICO price.

Ethereum is gonna survive consider 80% of icos platform are using ethereum as the main chain. but there was a lot of possibility that will be dumped even lower. i think it has reached its bottom and the price of bitcoin and ethereum remain stable rather than last week.

I was also damn shocked on seeing the price of Ethereum today, not that I personally checked it but some investors whom invested in it pasted the price on a group I am. I never for once invested in Ethereum, cause I traded them for some altcoins which I am confident in. Well,  I cant really say much on the future of Ethereum like I can faithfully know for Bitcoin but you guys should hodl on for your dear life. Lol. 

I don't agree this news and this is not a final result of Ethereum so it will move to forward soon. It is one of the best altcoin in crypto currency so it will never dying in the crypto market. Many negative news are really big impact of crypto market so this price fluctuation is recover soon.

Because all of the entire crypto-currency market is dropping.

Eth maybe dropping a bit faster but in general we are in a bear market for altcoins and none of them went up in price for a loooong time. Which means eth is not special or privileged or something because eth will drop as well when the market drops, eth has nothing more that would make it special and rise while all other coins are dropping in price.

It will keep going down as long as all other coins go down as well, bear market affects all altcoins and whether you believe it or not ethereum is still an altcoin and nothing bigger than that. We will see it go up in price soon when the bull comes back.

Its because ETH is also a cryptocurrency and its value is also volatile. I dont think if the recent icoforum influences this dip but i guess it is because it pays a higher reward and is ETH. The owner has 1000 ETH on his account to pay those who promotes his new forum and right after it stopped, the ETH drops down.

Agreed. If something was pumped to top 2 and holded for 2 years it dasnt mean that it will stay there forever and never be dumped. ETh is altcoin like every other.

And manny more. ETH is nothing better than stellar, waves, eos, neo, vet, nem and they all do the same (daps and smart contracts) and dozens more. I even think that we have manny better ones. I wrote more about eth in post above. Perhaps in next bull run we will have another daps/sc coin on nr 2 in marketcap and eth will be where waves is. Thats why hodling is one of the riskiest strategies in crypto market.

Eth is important for ivestors 2016 - 2018 - we know it to be top 3 all the time and its hard for us to bealive that it can be dumped realy low. But 2019 investors during next bull run will see other coin where ETH is now and will think about that coin as we think about ETH.

Just like 2013 investors thought about Namecoin, Peercoin, Feathercoin and manny more.

It may recover but its not certain. Perhaps it will recover to its current USD/ETH price but BTC will give much better ROI what means ETH/BTC will continue to drop. In short term its oversold in my opinion and 30% bounce is economicaly needed but full recovery might be hard.

Shittalk. Crypto society alwais tries to find explenation why we see drop. ICOs are here alwais. What means ETH should be beeing dumped all the time not only last 3 months. Every day we can see new ICOs what means that investors are buing ether to buy them? So its like old icos are selling new ico are collecting. Icos are collecting not only ETH but also BTC, LTC, USD and sometimes monero (most cummon).  ETH is dropping because its only ALT that was pumped too long like  Namecoin, Peercoin, Feathercoin in 2013.

it is simply because it is called pump and dump and not pump and pump. and if you expect anything other than this duality in the altcion market you will be surprised and continue losing money.

My friend told me that this is because after the ICO fundraising, ICO caused many merchants relying on Ethereum to sell ETH to cash, but I am not sure if this is true!

Ethereum is the queen of cryptocurrency world.The reason for the price decrease in Ethereum is may be reduced in investors, price fall in bitcoin.
In a life we have to see everything in positive manner.Why not we use this as an opportunity to inverse our money?Since we know the price of Ethereum will increase again in short period.

The price of ETH is reduced due to the impact of price reduction in bitcoin.And it doesn't mean Ethereum nearing the dying stage.
