To answer the topic title: why is every alt green again?

Welcome to price  corrections and a very volatile market.
it will be green and red from time to time, the values were quite really unstable because of the said split that may happen in August 1 ,though due to lowering of value many take the opportunity to buy more in lower price that causes the green sometimes.

Okay, so a few days ago (this Saturday) we have seen a terrible picture on coinmarketcap, for all the currencies were red (the price went down and so did capitalization). I thought the reason was coinbase and some big technical issues there. Yesterday everything was slowly getting back to normal. Almost all of the currencies went 'green'. Why is everything red again? Is it really some big problems with altcoins? Is it the end of big pump? Or maybe it is just the continuation of unexperienced panic sellers that started 2 days ago?
The sudden dumps we have experienced in altcoin might be an effect of the bitcoin's price drop that affected various type of cryptocurrency since the exchange value for each coins are based of the bitcoin's price. Or maybe it is because of the panic selling, the demands on altcoins because its price are dump

Its because of Bitcoin Segwit is coming near which is 1st of August so Bitcoin is dumping very hard and everyone know that Altcoin market follow bitcoin that is why all are coin are also going down I hope everything will go normal after 1st august when bitcoin get stable all altcoins will also start to grow soon.
Not only because 1st august is near, almost every altcoin was in bubble, bubble popped and panic selling started.
I don't understand why people are so scared because of 1st August.

WHat bubble? I didnt hear a pop. Believe me you people havent seen anything yet....gonna be a hell of a ride up and down and up and down....fun

Nothing's red now the only issue as i told in past also was bitcoin was falling and the reason was people sold alts for bitcoin and then sold bitcoin also but now as bitcoin has started rising again normally in the coming few weeks all the alts will rise again. Just keep holding if you are still in loss it will soon turn into profit unless you bought eth at some 0.15.
I understand holding is good, but why choose take profit when the price of crypto still high and buying again in present? I think this will better holding in long time.
If you had bought when highest price, create stop loss will helps you minimize your loss and can buy more amount than holding in long time and wait the price recovery with small profit, are you think it good?

That and because of speculation  Sad Also if Bitcoin's price is down, all the other crytocurrencies will go down.

I am also thinking about this and the way every altcoin get red but I think this normally happen every week end most and I also think this can be as a result of panic seller which make the market unstable, maybe today we will see all altcoin become green again and we should be expecting some kind of pump coming soon for all altcoin ,so it is a good idea to buy  some cheap coins now and sell high later when they get pump
Me i guess the bitcoin circulation eas obviously not right and there is something that is not right in bitcoin maybe a lot of investors are selling there holding that made the bitcoin price in the markrt to. Be dump but i dont know why the also the altcoins become dump i thought it is a vice versa circulation in bitcoin and altcoin.

I think it may have been Altcoin in bubbles and throw segwit upgrade to the mix only makes matters worse. This is just the beginning, I would not be surprised to see the bitcoin fell back to 1 k to begin to regain traction. Expect ether fall under 100. but I am sure it is probably there will be changes to atcoin after in red line

Yes that could be the reason it fluctutes now because of the aug 1 scenario. But i think that segwit will be a good way to fix some problems in btc then after aug 1 it will be good again.

If there is a pump will be followed by dump and vice versa as well so it's a common occurrence, indeed lately since the issue of 1 August the demand of cryptocurrency declined and the panic sell.

I think it is because of the holders who are panicking right now because of the August 1 event,
And maybe it is also the weak hands shaking out their coin and thinking that the price drop would continue.

This. Altcoin have been in a bubble and throwing segwit upgrade into the mix only make matters worse. This is only the beginning, I wouldn't be surprised to see bitcoin fall back to 1k until it begins to regain traction. Expect ether to fall below 100.

Good, waiting for a good summer sales!

Red is good to buy again, but always red never happen. Image if coin always green, you'll be confused which one to buy?. Market is always about green and red ( supply and demand ) and that's natural. Watch the price and follow your method to get profit, never say " red " is bad. For me, red and green is only color but actual price is what I'm looking for. When red come up try to wait and see, don't sell it because maybe next day the price will come up. Good luck.

That is very normal, crypto currencies is based on market demands, after so many demands there will be selling when the investors see that they can make profit, so many people is selling their coin so the price is decreasing and last time the pump was made by the whale so we will see another big dump again in the future, but red is good, it is our chance to buy and gain profit

the price increased significantly so they have to be dumped in order to get back to the normal. Do not worry much about that Wink

If you know the predictions and read the charts, I do not think it should be thrown away, may have to wait a few days or a few more weeks to come back as stable for it
many amateurs traders who are not familiar with how bitcoin and crytocurrency pricing work are selling their coins out of panic and most of them are even selling at lost. Every thing is on red because it can not be green forever and cannot be red forever.
Agree, but as I am checking coinmarketcap a few times every day, I must admit that seeing everything red and especially -10% or less is not something that often happens. Now everything is getting back to normal but I just wonder what are the main reasons why people all of a sudden start panic selling. The prices grow, everything is nice and smooth and then they start selling a lot. How do they decide when to sell? And why do they decide it sort of together for I don't think that altcoin market in controlled by a few people having the control package.

I myself do not see many coins change color to red, I just see from a few coins that change color to red. So I'm not really concerned about the color of bitcoin turning red because I think it happens very often in the crypto world, a person who just started trading might panic with this situation, but I'm sure the bitcoin color will turn green again.
That's for sure, Bitcoin will be green again, Look at the last year's Bitcoin always experience price increases and maybe next year bitcoin will also be green again.

This bitcoin is supposed to get the red line because in a few weeks they show the green line continues and where there is an increase there must be a decrease .. so I think you do not have to worry for bitcoin price, we will still see it in the next year ..

If you've played Altcoin many times, you know, about Altcoin all red, maybe this is a very high Bitcoin impact, so I do not think there's anything to worry about because this is just the impact of higher Bitcoin prices. So all Altcoin in the market becomes red.
But bitcoin doesn't influence the price of altcoins directly. I tend to agree more with people who say that it is due to lots of new people and their panic sellings.
Bitcoin was also really down on Saturday, whereas when it hit $2000 for the first time, ethereum grew in price as well. Sometimes btc grows along with alts, sometimes it grows and alts go down. No connection here.

At the weekend it is difficult to define with certainty the path that the market will take, the trading volume is much lower compared to other days.
At the beginning of the week is when we can see what direction the market will actually take... and that's what it seems to be, there is a strong tendency that the altcoins will continue to fall in price, and as Bitcoin becomes closer to adopting SegWit, things will look worst for most alts.

You should browse more price history of altcoin few years ago and then you can see that there are more terrible dump in the past rather than we are experiencing now. Don't be panic on red. it's time for price correction, and for vacation, investors dump for profit and use the money to have fun, winter is for pump and summer for dump, but i think maybe we see some expection later in summer, some coin will get a pump for sure, another possible reason is that bitcoin was dumped and altcoin follow bitcoin, beacuse to sell bitcoin, if you have altcoin, you need to sell your alt first

During the days of bitcoin increasing gradually the price of altcoins too was experiencing a good pump in price. Now while the price crash took place the altcoins seems to be stable with uptrend and now when bitcoin starts to retain the value once again the red mark is found over the altcoin.

Many speculate about bitcoin prices will drop dramatically. They make sales because the bitcoin panic will continue to fall. Yesterday the market was very unpredictable, when the rise in btc should be Altcoin could bleed. Even when btc goes down altcoin also goes down. Many beginner traders are confused. It takes courage to take the current position of buying or holding until there is a pump again.

as many have been warning for the past 2 weeks the altcoin market is in a gigantic bubble and this bubble is bursting. and with that comes the dump and the red you see.
here is what happens.
- at first whales dump a big amount to get out most of their money
- then the panic sells start and price crashes hard, it can even be -50%
- at that point when it is proved that it is the bottom, traders buy for a short term profit and price jumps back up
- they surely will dump it fast because they know it is a dying market and get out for a secondary profit.
- now the price continues dumping faster.

Yup. The market is weak right now. I think because of the season. This is summer season. I think this affects the market movement. Not only altcoins are dumping but also bitcoin. But this time is good tho. More cheaper altcoin to buy. But only buy only 50% of your capital because its not stable yet.

To add:

Buy only so much as you are prepared to loose. If you can't loose it, don't do it.
That's one of the basics for investments in general, but for this volatile investments it is even more applicable.

1) Bitcoin is volatile
2) Altcoins are even more volatile
3) Many newcomers came into the market(s)
4) Panic selling (every friday, now bigger and longer)

And did I already mention the coins are volatile?

Don't panic, look to the big picture here. Now there are red numbers (although there are green numbers also), another time there are green ones. Don't look at one single day or a single week, look at the charts and you will see a high volatility but in the long run a steady rise.

Events like that lately often happen altcoin many of which go down the value so often red even just altcoin btc also experienced the same thing, In my opinion too so many sellers are panicked so that the market price is unstable even often decrease in appeal price increase.

Monero is up by 10%.
I guess people will be more cautious what to buy now. Lots of new people come to crypto last few months. They are not used of corrections. They also started reading where they put their money and lost over night 40%.

Coin marketcap's gainer/loser status is based on a 24 hour day, so if the coins are under what they were trading 24 hours ago, or bitcoin rises more than the altcoin does, it will show the altcoin went down, since the percentages are based on the relative price to bitcoin.
