I guess I am naive for thinking that Satoshi didn't advertize, why should we
Indeed you are. He was the first, there was only one coin, it was something not heard of and it needed years.

Heres my opinion:

1. Your websites ugly
2. You have 3 team members, two of which look like the same person, just different pictures.
3. Not many people want to fund a possible terrorist group.
4. You don't know how to advertise.

Thanks appreciate the honest advice. We've got an update of the website coming up.
We can get more pics of team members too.
Whatever, taxes fund terrorist groups, this is crypto we are talking about here.

Do you have any tips on advertizing? I guess I am naive for thinking that Satoshi didn't advertize, why should we

What is the best way to promote a project?

If you are speaking about Ummati here, within my immediate circle islamic friends though they are aware of BTC they are not ready to invest due to the religious practices they do follow sincerely.... similar to "Shariah Stocks" you can think of exploring an option of getting "First Shariah certified coin" in the crypto world... that would become your USP

We have the support of Sheikh Umar Vadillo who has been lecturing  and issuing fatwa on fiqh al muamalat for 30 years, he is also one of the founders of the modern gold dinar project.

CryptoTalk.Org - Get Paid for every Post!
So now I saw an ICO for taking care of family members graves. So much crap out there, and I am trying to build a project that is actually well thought out, viable, and transparent, and not getting attention. Are people oversaturated with coins that they don't even take the time to distinguish the good from the bad?

Promotion, promotion, promotion.

You need to be on reddit, twitter, facebook, as well as on bitcointalk. And maybe try to get a slot on one of the podcasts talking about cryptocurrencies (see the letstalkbitcoin website).

Having good technology is no longer enough now that there are nearly 700 coins to choose from.

"good from bad" isn't a term i would use in the cryptocurrency world, especially when we're talking about ICOs. Doesn't matter what the concept of your project is, investors are looking for hype, opportunities, they're not gonna jump into your project just because you have a plan on how to make the world a better place, this isn't how the world around ICOs work. Instead of complaining, you should start working on ways to promote your project, signature campaign, bountie campaign, opening a ANN thread, a website, social media, etc. You can hire people that can help you expose your project to attract potential investors. Good luck.

That's exactly what's happening, there even this guy who conduct an ICO "useless token, no utility just me spending.your money" and that person raised millions despite of the warnings.

Most people invest in hype, not the long term future of the project.

It is very simple having good idea is not enough, you project need to make some noise and hype around it, people do look into project before they invest, it is which project has huge hype at the moment, I have seen people invest into projects they don't know what it is all about

MY RED TRUST LEFT BY SCUMBAGS - READ MY SIG
well since you have no link to a btc thread in your sig

and you don't get why advertising bounties in sigs etc are useful

I can see why you may have some issues raising awareness.

However you are right about some things that most investors are just sucked in by fomo inducing marketeers for shit icos which will just burn through their btc as dev funding and produce little or nothing.

if you have a good concept maybe your problem is promotion because the project requires promotion to get the attention of potential investors

Yeah probably, I don't really get the whole signature campaigns bounties deal.
