Nothing seems to a crash, all that happening with bitcoin is entirely an expected process to solve certain issues that have been under controversial discussion for a long time. Now this has happened without affecting the bitcoin and now users were free to use bitcoin as it was used in the past. Now bitcoin cash has emerged and showing good growth as expected.
Bitcoin seems stronger then ever on the other hand bitcoin cash seems to be in problems, it has already lost more than half the price in just a few days and I do not see a reason for the drop to stop, and if the exchanges accept deposits prepare for the price to drop even further.
The bitcoin cash just make a comeback caused by the rumor, but it seems got dumping again. And the exchange site already accepted the bitcoin cash deposit. bitcoin cash can be considered as serious competitor others than the ethereum as the big smartcontract platform.

Why is there a "Bitcoin Crash" planned for Aug 1st?
Are planned crashes regular events, or is this one special?

Today is August 2 and it seems that there is no Bitcoin Crash but maybe you heard that thought because there's an issue last month. The bitcoin issue was already been resolved which also shows a good price today as most of everyone are expecting.

Everything lunch slowly and you know that bitcoin is decentralized so it will take a little time to come so keep calm and wait for Bitcoin cash because it will reach to market in some times like it will take a 1 month or weeks nobody knows but updates are still on the forum which can be helpful so it seems that it will come around next week so we are waiting as well.

Thats right dude! today is already August 5 in my country timezone, but the price of bitcoin was still at ease and the value is stable at the
moment while Bcc pumping the price, like what dash Eth did before then in the end it goes down. meaning nothing special at all like what you are saying about it.

Why is there a "Bitcoin Crash" planned for Aug 1st?
Are planned crashes regular events, or is this one special?

Well as we can see, there's no Bitcoin Crash happened this first day of August. What happened before is because bitcoin are facing segwit issues but then it was already completed. And for the result, it happened without affecting the bitcoin.
That Bitcoin crash news is only a FUD to create a panic selling to the bitcoin holder who will believe on that but for the pro traders and the whales who will gain mich profit in that situation and it is all plan before they spread a fake or FUD news.

Crashes are not planned, some whales may like to spread FUD and see the price to get lower to buy more bitcoins, but it is impossible to plan, crashes happen when something bad occurs to bitcoin or some bad news regarding bitcoin adoption or because an exchange was hacked and a lot of coins were lost, those kind of events are able to crash the market.

Just a speculation mate since due to split people thinking that the price of btc will get affected on it, But expectation of the other people has been proven wrong since by looking at this days rate btc proves its strength and maybe by this time most provably bitcoin will pump and eliminate those people who gives negative ratings on it when august is not approaching.

The real issue is how much would bcc cost in the market. Now its at 430$ so i guess it is a real oppurtunity to sell for people who has bcc. But its not easy also to get your free bcc. For it needs some confirmations. Right now bcc holders are in a roll once they sell bcc but in some time i think bcc might become less and less valuable because it can also be just a dump coin.

All this issue was really a bubble ideas for me eversince at the first days of July, I had no fears for that matter and all I had is a full trust with bitcoin as the entire July passes by; positive emotions really helped a lot. Those plans is not having a good effect to bitcoin price and all those who paid much for the black propagandas against bitcoin,  well I must say a big congratulations to them. They poisoned those newbies and not those matured investors who really cared for bitcoin holding progress.

Um, what do you mean bitcoin crash?

some people call bitcoin cash as bitcoin crsh (because of BCC price crashing), the same way they called Bitcoin Unlimited (BU) as BUG coin. and BCC is the same BU thing with the same people, same bugs, same agenda to take over bitcoin and with the same very low support.
Haha, my friends also call BCC = BitCoin Crash because they know after distribuite Bitcoin Cash, the price of this coin will crashing very more, even maybe drop to some dollars per coin Grin.

Hmm... If everybody is so sure of BCC crashing immediately upon creation, then maybe it makes sense to take a contrarian position. Who knows, BCC could rebound to give sizeable profits.

the purpose of BCC is not to come and become used or be better or whatever, the main purpose of it is to take over. the people behind it want to disturb things to their own advantage and centralize things in a different way. they very same things they claim to be defying is what they will do themselves pretty soon.

as far as price goes, it will crash hard. take a look at all the altcoins that had the same way of distributing free tokens among bitcoin share holders! that is why one of the questions is why didn't they start a new thing instead.
and like any other altcoin with airdrops it will reach a bottom and reverse when the big sell pressure lessens and the trading (better say pump and dump) starts.
So, sell all Bitcoin Cash after received before it drop to lowest price as a few dollars. If you miss sell Bitcoin Cash with good price, try buying some small amount at lowest price, I believe the price of this coin will bounce or have trap recovery helps you earning profit from it. This is my strategy with altcoin airdrops. Wink

It is now August 1 in some parts of the world but there is no sign of a crash happening. Maybe altcoiners want their share of free BCH to dump in the market too and some to hold to sell later.

in my opinion it all started with BIP148 aka UASF and the fact that it didn't have enough support and a high risk of splitting the chain. because of that Bitmain announced they will perform a fork of their own in case UASF is successful and called it UAHF, this is not being used by ViaBTC (which is partner with bitmain) to perform a fork with so little support and split from bitcoin to create a new chain (practically an altcoin). they use the same date as both 2 forks above.

now UASF is ineffective because SegWit has 100% support from miners, and UAHF is ineffective because UASF is not going to happen. but BCC people still push to fork.

Thanks for the recent history.
It is hard to find time to keep up with everything.
There are weeks or even months where everything is very slow and there is almost no news when it comes to bitcoin, but there are instances, like this one, where you need to update yourself every few hours or you are going to miss something important.

I don't think so they are planned, it's just happening suddenly as people are starting to panic.  And don't add another FUD to the newbies out there they are always monitoring posts here in speculations board to see what are the updates regarding the bitcoin market.

I do not think the bitcoin price will change much during the 1 August to 3 August. People will just observe.

The net change might not be much, but the ups and downs could get pretty crazy. Not long ago (for example) the market quickly went from 1,900 to ~2,800.

Unless you are referring to bitcoin cash which is basically the UAHF then there is really no planned "crash" on 1st August. On 1st August there is just going to be a chain split between the bitcoin core implementation and the bitcoin cash. Will people dump their coins and cause a crash to the market? It could well be possible. But it's definitely not something that is planned beforehand to crash.

Forks are regular but this one is probably one of the biggest forks because the underlying reason for all the commotion is because people can't agree on the scaling solution.
