There are many ICO because many people wants to use blockchain technology due to the prospects of it. But it is hard to come with a unique product and to support it. As a result, many ICO are just scam(

I have seen the growth of ICO scam projects since last year. It's really sad cuss it might affect the proper ICO's that are not scam. There has to be another way? What are your thoughts on this?

Because previous ICO project were very profitable for companies many try to do the same thing to make money

Until now I still have not found the most effective and appropriate way to detect ICO SCAM in a short time.

Sadly, most ICO out there today are scams.

All they want is to get people hard earned money and ran off with it, many tactics have been used. Let be wary of them

somebody should write them all down so we can see patterns and such in it on how they do things. then it would become harder for scammers no?

The ICO project is appropriate for many phishing projects, so you understand that it's easy to have so many projects

Most of the ico projects are scams.  People are trying to rip others off quickly before the regulations are put in place.  Many innocent are just too gullible, lazy or greedy to spot scams.  They often fail to do simple due diligence.

One easy way to spot them is that they don't have very much information about team or that they have whitepaper on roadmap after ICO sale. Whitepaper is the most time consuming job to finish. so always make sure
there is a good whitepaper before the ICO at least. that makes the investment some what safer. Master node coins also seams to be very popular with scammers. Don't buy MN or Private sale before whitepaper at-least Smiley it makes it harder for scammers. Only reason why people scam now is cuss they see the profits in scamming uneducated people in the crypto world, specially the new people.

My thoughts are that it breaks down into a few different reasons:
  • It's the hot trend right now, and scammers want to capitalize on something easily without a lot of effort
  • Crypto is harder to track and there are still a lot of countries that don't have any regulations in place regarding ICOs, therefore giving a largely unregulated and somewhat anonymous platform to scam
  • Many people who invest in this do not do their due diligence in researching the projects before putting money into it, only hoping that it will "moon"

I agree with you, that yes, this is definitely affecting legit ICOs. I personally just stay away from investing in them, but ALWAYS make sure you do your research before you invest.
