Brexit was not a stand against immigration, it was a stand against globalisation. I'm not sure that that is a right wing attitude.
Maybe it was against TTIP, about not being able to get a job, about paying debts of other countries,.. there is not a single reason.

nowadays if you believe in national borders, protecting your own standard of living and aren't obsessed with talking about the rights of feminists, minorities and homosexuals, the left calls you a right wing extremist. the term seems to be applied to any man who holds the same social and political views as his parents and grandparents generation.
+1 I see myself as a microaggression against pervs  Grin

Leave no FUD unchallenged
the fact is the left have screwed over the native population with mass immigration, that's just the honest truth and unfortunately the right are the only ones willing to talk about this.

Pfffft.  Cheesy

That's too funny.  The UK hasn't had a left wing government since before I was born and I'm in my 30s.  If you're talking about Blair and his ilk, he was as much of a neo-lib as Thatcher before him and Cameron after.  The whole "New Labour" movement was just "tory-lite" in reality.  The only parties we really have that qualify as left wing are the Greens and, to a slightly lesser extent, Plaid Cymru and the SDLP.

Incidentally, now that half of the Shadow Cabinet have either resigned or been sacked (the Blair-ite half, who voted for bombing Syria and renewing Trident, who should basically stop pretending and defect to the tory party where they belong), Labour is actually now starting to look a bit like a left wing party (for the first time in decades).  Will be interesting to see how that develops.

Labour could potentially move down and to the left a bit depending on how the new Shadow Cabinet and other MPs vote over the coming months.

Imho it's the too many bad choices made by the politicians lately.

Let's see the picture before everything blew up: people had a pretty good life, pretty stable jobs mostly, some even grew pretty self-suficient to allow themselves to get .. lazy .. or to dream of 4h working day since the money was enough. Immigrants (especially from eastern countries) were not loved, but they were accepted.

Then Lehman Brothers & Co colaps came.

By far, the biggest mistake was to help out the banks after their colaps, using our money. People's life became harder. Internet and media showed the truth that bankers just got richer from this on our expense.
"Because banks are vital for economy" bullshit.

And when people's way of life degraded just enough that everybody feel it, the huge wave of immigrants came: different culture, different color, different smell and way cheaper workers. How would western people like that, really?!
I am from Eastern Europe and I know how we are seen by W. Europe because we can make a living with less money and we can "steal" their jobs. Now multiply that x1000.

In the eastern countries the governments made a lot of money cuts to cover ... basically the expenses cause by the banks bailout.

All in all, everybody grew angry against the "current" governments and all their possible allies. It happened that the "alternative" to be the right wing.

This was Europe. In US the banks' issue was even worse, people lost houses, jobs, .. the current candidates for President are worse than weak (I mean, The Lady and the Trump. Really? US has enough human material for better, although they have a long history of odd choices, Bush Jr being one living example).

Now watch as several posters mysteriously materialise to accuse me of being a racist for pointing this out.

Yeah, because it's a cheap shot. The problem is that when the R word gets used frivolously, the word gets diluted. It should only be used in instances when genuine racism exists.

It's exactly like you say, the real cases of neo-nazis and so on are going to get completely ignored or drowned out because these retards are going around screaming at anybody they disagree with.

My guess is that the world (rather the populations in the cities) has moved so far to the left that anyone to the right of center is now an "extremist".

People preferring to be governed locally or not be overrun with droves of immigrants doesn't seem all that extreme to me.

Personally I feel the entire left/right paradigm is a ridiculous distraction and government officials from either side are more than happy to take your freedoms and your power one way or another. Who really cares how they achieve it?

I think it's completely overblown because of the EU referendum winning for the leave side the pro-remain media have thrown tantrums and gone completely apeshit, I live in a heavy migrant town and I have honestly not noticed a damn thing, most people are just going about their lives, there was always some problems with racist scumbags like there always are but not to the extent the media is painting it now.

Really what it is is the media doing the only thing they know how, stop their opponents by screaming 'racist' and 'xenophobe' as much as possible until they're blue in the face, as for the right wing politics, the fact is the left have screwed over the native population with mass immigration, that's just the honest truth and unfortunately the right are the only ones willing to talk about this. It's not just about immigration by the way, but it seems to be almost anything these days, you're either supposed to agree with the left on everything or you're an evil right wing neo-nazi.

Now watch as several posters mysteriously materialise to accuse me of being a racist for pointing this out.
