Hashrate of cpu is slow, so shares are not submitted in a constant rate. Sometimes you find a share short after one and other, so hashrate is 'high', sometimes it takes a little longer to find a share with a low hashrate, resulting in a lower number.

Hello,

I am currently mining MetalCoin at minerpools with my CPU (AMD FX 6300) and cpuminer 1.3 but the speed is up and down. For example one time is about 350 KH/s, another time is 750 KH/s and after falls down again.

I have not open any heavy programs..

Could be the "Turbo" part of the processor causing it to spike temporarily.
