Apart from coming from a poor background, the Nigeria politicians are greedy and selfish. Even the ones that have money keep stealing the one made for the masses and start living a flamboyant life style because they know the people won't hold den responsible for anything.

It all comes down to the type of politicians we have in Nigeria, leaders who view Fellowers as a rival. They won't ever let Their Fellows develop past them. To keep them obedient and dependent on them, they go to great lengths to maintain them in poverty. Because of sick leadership, neither our system nor our economy are expanding. Instead of competing with leaders of other nations in terms of development and progress. They are hard at work creating laws and policies that exclusively benefit the privileged class, keeping the rest of the population in abject poverty. We need to speak out against poor leadership by ousting them.

I do not want to blame the people of Nigeria, but somehow there must be the possibility to find a good candidate that will run the country good and elect him into office. Somehow they seem to always find a bad candidate or the candidates are not checked carefully so people do not know for who they should vote.

It’s obvious to all that Nigeria(a developing nation), is plagued by bad leadership. I do not think leaders when elected, forget the purpose of which they were elected. They simply turn a deaf ear and choose to do whatever they want cause they can. And without any accountability, who’s there to question him?

Cases of embezzlement of public funds is no new news to Nigerian politics, I find it hard to believe that a politician after being elected after 2 years, made his 5 year old kid a billionaire. That’s crazy.

I think that Nigeria is a somewhat young and growing nation and like many others, will certainly face trying and difficult times until it’s gotten right.

The issue of corrupt government and maladministration is a global problem but it is highly prevalent in Africa. The reason behind this unacceptable behavior is just a lack of contentment and societal pressure.

Most of these politicians fail to understand that all we need to survive is just our basic needs and nothing more. But they want to acquire residential houses in almost every part of the world, while they can only sleep in just one bed at a time. They want to have a fleet of cars, while they can only drive one at once. They are desperate to save stolen funds because they want to ensure that their life of luxury is maintained even when they leave the political space. They keep the money for a predictable generation that would end up becoming lazy and lavish the money.

Another important factor is societal orientation. Most Africans believe that political offices are designed to enrich officeholder. Most politicians are forced to steal. Their society would consider them to be foolish and dull because they didn't amass wealth. I have seen when the youths of a community insulting a former commissioner because he didn't build a mansion in the community just because he refused to steal.

nigeria has not been able to choose a good and qualified leader,
and the public should be aware of it, and must take firm steps for such leaders or government officials.
Look for a leader who has the following traits or characteristics:

• have the nature or create prosperity for the people or society
and be fair.
• a leader must be able to provide coolness/comfort for the people.
• leaders must be able to provide strength and enthusiasm for their subordinates.
• the leader must always be in the midst of the community so that they always know everything that is happening and the condition of the community.
• always improve the welfare of the community.
• a leader must have broad insight like the vastness of the ocean in leading his people.
• leaders must be able to inflame and inflame the spirit of the people they lead to achieve common goals.

The main idea behind this is that, due to the poor family they came from and arriving at that level, they use the opportunity to loot money to make sure the never get poor again and even the least project they will not do for the common people they are representing.

The main reason is greed. A greedy person is always greedy and they will find that opportunity to cheat you out of what you have. So don't make excuse of being poor for them because even the rich steal from public fund. The money that the former military president hid in other continent is still an example of what I am saying that being poor is not an excuse because all the ex military government were not poor but they stole public money.

They see it as an opportunity to amass wealth for themselves, families, and children even the once yet unborn.
I know of some one who had an opportunity to serve in a little capacity as a politician, and been there for just two years,he made money, build Mansons and even his 5 years son had an account of over five billion naira saved in and the old men and women in his local town wallow in pains and hunger,no job and they made the people leave in hard condition.

Take a look

This is typical of Nigerian politicians that they launder project money for the masses and convert to personal use .

Nigeria is still considered a French colony. France controls almost all aspects of the state and interferes with the country's major politics, including fiscal policy and the economic model.

France is also involved in arming groups in different parts of the country to ensure the preservation of its interests, especially when it comes to gold and uranium mines. The presence of France also instigated the emergence of terrorist groups under the pretext of resisting the French military presence on the ground, such as the Boko Haram group.

Nigeria politicians are not the right people that should be in the political sector, they don't understand the world democracy and the politicians puts themselves above the law. The real politicians in Nigeria are not given the right to win elections in a free and fair way because they will end up loosing even if they win. If you look at Nigeria nepotism is what they are doing in their politics as if the country is their families birth right.

This fake people who has selfish desires for themselves, I will say criminals will disguise themselves as good politicians will do anything to make sure they win elections so that they can steal the country funds for themselves and their family. In Nigeria there is no Supremacy. The youths are people that should come together and kick these bad eggs out of the government so that there will be room for good politicians to display their political ideas to help the country grow.

the problem is that when they elect the right politician to run their country, these politicians are also over thrown thru the leftwings and with the help of their colonizers who wants steal their resources. this continent had not been freed despite the claiming their independence. Nigeria despite having so much gas, the leaders decisions are constantly interfered.

having two party in government means civil war all the time. Libya had resolved but were also destroyed. countries in Africa are always troubled where they are in the middle of giants fighting for their resources like what happens in Ethopia and Somalia these days.

if there is only one party in the government, projects will run and no interference from other party. Xi Ping is an example. one leader to solve issues. not minding what other countries are saying about democracy, its all an illusion.

Discussing about Nigerian politics is something that has made me failed up on government or on our leaders per says, literally the people which we are electing are not well sanitized of knowing their core duties why they are being elected into power but rather using as an avenue of enrichment program to all their relatives. I think we are yet to have quality leaders because a country can move forward without having a proactive leadership who knew what they are being elected into.
You can't used an uneducated president or governor and gave him power why because they don't know the usefulness of being give a power to lead and rule or even govern people.

Nigeria a country colonized by the British,is still underdeveloped due to the fact that it's leaders has failed to understand the real meaning of politics, rather than running politics of poverty,WHY POLITICS OF POVERTY?
A lot of Nigeria leaders due to the poor background and family they came from and had the privileged to be elected into office, forgot the main purpose why He or she was elected in and focuses on enriching himself and his family and forgot the poor masses and the common man.
They see it as an opportunity to amass wealth for themselves, families, and children even the once yet unborn.

What do you think should be done and what is you opinion on this cause.
