Maybe Coinbase is trying to avoid conflict of interest, Litecoin has proven to be a real coin though it has not sour with Bitcoin the way it used to, but there are still alot of interest and community behind it especially China

So far in my idea regarding about in coinbase it is not a type of exchange sites like as we all know this is more of buying bitcoin only and getting wallet from it. Also not all country affiliated with the coinbase, because my country is not affiliate in the coinbase.

True, my country doesn't support buying and selling on coinbase too, only transfers.

first of all people mostly use coinbase as their bitcoin wallet not an exchange place since prices aren't that good there anyways compared to other exchanges.

also as long as there is GDAX (from coinbase) they do trading there and i'd say about 20,000 USD volume in 24 hour is not nothing.

and in the end traders are on big exchanges such as poloniex,... and with the recent IRS thing with Coinbase i don't think they are so willing to do anything on coinbase.

What's the relations between GDAX and Coinbase?

I feel that most of the top ten coins will be on Coinbase soon enough.
Why do you think so? They are not adding more coins to their site like other exchanges. They are focusing more on exchanging btc - fiat. And their move to add Ethereum was fast and unexpected. I think they only tried to make profit from Ethereum popularity wave.

They announced that they would be adding coins and moving away from being a bitcoin-fiat exchange. See

https://blog.coinbase.com/completing-our-transition-to-becoming-a-digital-currency-company-not-just-a-bitcoin-company-6bcc44ca40ee#.8gdcjszdy

I think they have given up on bitcoin because of the whole blocksize debacle.

It really does blow me away they added ETH and not LTC way back.
I still don't get it..

I mean there is soooo many reasons to add both or even just LTC first or something.
Have the guys at Coinbase ever provided an explanation ?
I see this question has been brought up here many times before.

Seriously weird !  Undecided

My point was that Coinbase may look to other means because of the IRS mess. They may need to attract new customers, I could see them going to a fuller exchange like Kraken.

They are scammy idiots.. they would rather support Ethereum   Cheesy

That and ratting out customers and getting them arrested is the final straw for me.
KickAssTorrents were victims of Coinbase.  Cry

Hate to say it, but Brian is definitely peddling scam coins and selling to kids. I dont like that.  BTC and LTC are OK in my book.
Why on Earth would kickasstorrents use a Coinbase account?

I can't recall but the info is at TorrentFreak.
Some P2P sites use BTC for hosting costs or maybe even VPN's.
I was helping a File Locker based sharing site guy when he said he was late in hosting payments..
He said the hoster only takes BTC and he did not have any and was new to it all.
(he did not know how to buy Bitcoin directly with FIAT)
It's really not unusual in the P2P scene.
After all that is what got me here.. The LTC donation address listed on TPB pages way back.
Note: i was not helping the guy with money but with advice.

Maybe Coinbase is trying to avoid conflict of interest

Nothing to do with conflict of interest. If LTC has high enough regular trades on GDAX, it would signal that there is consumer demand, and they would be willing to add it...

ETH was added to GDAX first and then added to Coinbase later. LTC was added to GDAX several months ago. Likely Coinbase will be adding LTC soon. My expectation is by the end of this month.

I think they add coins based on trading fees. If they think lots of people are going to buy litecoin from their coinbase wallet, earning them nice fat fees, they'd do it in a heartbeat.

Given that the creator of litecoin Charles Lee is their director of engineering

I hear something about Coinbase giving many troubles this days. I hope Coinbase add LTC soon, we really want to see if LTC price raise again, since end 2014 LTC price really low, that was amazing coin giving to me a lot of benefits.

I think Coinbase is used generally for Wallet not for exchangue site and the price aren't good right now.

The website has references to it.

Well... I just tried to find an example I saw just the other day and now cant find it. I could swear I was looking into doing a report on my history and saw it mention a LTC account.
