i thought that the whole point of faucet is to earn coins and not to spend coins on them.

I am not sure regular faucet users are donating any coins back to faucets, because they are in faucet to receive few satoshi not to give them. Maybe donations (if there are any) are coming from someone who wants to support faucet because he know owner or like his work.

They don't Wink
I'm running bitcoin faucets for 2 years and I don't think I got 10$ as donation.

Thats a sad reality Smiley Though faucets gives a btc address for donation, it seems no one is donating. They spend time in clicking cpachas just to get  several hundreds of satoshi then they donate? lol Though no one is force to donate, its fun to kill time in faucets sites.

I think what OP meant was, the faucets that have wallet addresses for donation purposes on their sites. IMO, nothing is bad about that, it's like charity orgs, rich entities donates to charity then charities gave the donated goods to poor. Faucets are also like that, you can donate to faucets then poor get bits from faucets, most individuals rich in bitcoins are ignoring faucets now, then why don,'t donate some to faucets so faucets can continue to give. Most of claimers are either new to cryptocurrencies or poor.

But of course, donating is optional. No one is forcing to donate. If you don't want to donate, then don't. So, op's problems is non-sense, IMHO.

If you want to earn coins of a faucet, it does not make much sense to donate them back again.
It would be like paying your boss for some reason.
I have seen that some faucets offer the possibility to do that, but it never occured to me that actually somebody would use this option.
Besides, the quality of most faucets isn't even worth to make a claim... so why donate?

I don't think any of the normal faucet user even look at the donation address if faucet have listed in their faucet. And even if someone look at it they will just ignore it, the one who are just visiting faucets to claim bitcoin of less than a penny amount can't even pay transaction fee associated while sending donation amount. But still someone who have good amount of bitcoin visits the faucet and really like the idea as well as uniqueness of faucet may donate some being happy.

But only people like BipPolarBob Donate coins on faucet just to help them.

I dont know where the OP got this idea, but people rarely if ever donate to faucets. However faucets have extra earning for people who pay for VIP and Premium memberships. That is also one method how the faucet runs and keeps paying.

I don't think anyone donate to a faucet, people are there trying to get some money... So a faucet asking for donation is like trying to teach a fish to walk...

True but no one is forced to donate his money to a faucet,it is optional and some people do it just because they want to support a faucet they like and help it survive.Besides I don't think that anyone has  donated to a faucet more money than he earned from it.
