Follow the new changes from the board administrator. Non-merit members will return to the Newbie rank. Merits will now decide what level you based on the number of Merits you have.

Where to found threads that users reward with merit, or is read by such users? thanks

I suggest you look around, most beginers forums have some of these.

Hey there!! Well according to the new rules of the Forum, now you must have at least one merit to be a JR member. So even if you were a JR member before, if you don't have any merits you would be demoted until you start posting material worth of a merit. It's bummer I know, sometimes can be difficult to get merits, but don't fret, there are some posts where you can get merits by posting good material or answering some questions. Just look for them, also post materials that are worth having and reading. Good luck my friend!!!

Thank's for your reply, now it's clear!!! i want to give you a merit.. but.. i have none!!!

Thank you, your comment makes me so happy. If you want a merit, you can go into Beginers or Meta, there are some weekly contests where members give merits if you answer some questions. Or if you speak spanish you can go to esquina libre there you might find some there.

Don't give up!! Regards my friend!

I had exactly the same question!
I've read a thread about the new rules regarding this, but I didn't quite understand how somebody can reward a merit to other users. As far as I understand, to give merits to others, you have to have some sMerits, which again I don't know where to check whether I have sMerits?

So, is there a button or something to give merits to a specific user?

Merits are rewarded to posts by member of the forum. If a member of the forum thinks your post is good, has useful information, supports the forum, give insight to the community, etc. they would give you a merit. Is kinda give you a "LIKE" for your post.

Now the problem is that there are so many people in the forum and so many posts and people with merits (who are the ones that can give you a merit) might never read your posts. Also if your posts are related to bounties you won't get a merit for those, either bounty threads or ANN threads.

If you want to know how many merits you have, go to your profile page, there you can see a summary of your account and see if you have any merits. I hope this is helpful!!

Thank you so much for your info! I didn't know merits are rewarded by members of the forum. By doing so, the quality of the forum or the community always stays maintained, not allowing random users giving merits to any posts, am I correct? Again, thanks a lot! It was very helpful!
