Hey,

Forum changed their rule to ranked up & now all are asking this topic in here... Now a days it's really a important questions.

Look you just only need 30 activities to be Jr. Member. After then you need also Merit with your activity.
You can earn 14 activity every week but you can't earn merit by your activities.

Because if you eagerly interesting to get some merit you need quality content to post and reply otherwise you can't earn merit.
Point that though I'm new here but I have experienced in different forum since last 6/7 years.

So, don't take panic just learn how to right quality content.

Gone are the days when ranking up on this forum is done based of the number of activities you have got. It is now combined with merit. You have to be merited in order to rank up on the forum and you can only get merit by making quality and helpful posts. So now you can remain on the same spot if there is no equivalent merit for the next rank, this is regardless of your number of activities.

The merit system is a pain. People are so protective of their merits as everyone is looking to climb.

It's so hard to get into air drops as a lower ranking member, and this will only make it more difficult as some air drops only accept above a certain rank. The rich get richer!

It is hard to have merit. You have to make a lot of useful contributions to the community and they will feel your articles help them to answer their questions and they will repay you by giving you their merit.

Most of those Jr. members that you saw are only after bounties. They have lots of posts and activities but lesser merits since they focus more on joining bounties. Some of them doesn't deserve to get any merits from their shitty and spammy posts.

Legendary Members have more merits than activities. How can I get merits to climb up..

They are the genius individuals in the forum. They have more knowledge when it comes to the technology and exerted so much effort for us newbies to learn from. It's from legendary members that we ask important questions and will surely get very good and helpful information from them.

You need to read first before posting. Learn the basics of the forum and the technology then focus more on helping out the community rather than focusing on begging for merits.

It's not hard, you just create a high quality post and help other member. and never think you will got merit after helping them. we are here for helping each other Wink
Merits are not merely given on every quality post that a person makes, I think it is a matter of hard work through quality posts that promotes the forum and good luck. I have seen a number of good posts on this forum but no merit was given to the authors. I think they were not lucky to be rewarded with merits by those who have the power to do so.

The policy now become complicated and strict, Normally merits will be based on content and relevant of your post or reply to thread by others. if it creditable and sometime if they see your avatar and signature with ads surely they will not bother to give you merits because they know already your purposed. so if you want to gain at least 50% be sure you dont carry any ICO bounty stuffs .

If you check the new rule , you will find you need 10 merits , merit is different with activities . You can get activities by posting or creating new thread . But the merit is not , the only one way you can get is from others .

Because promoting in position has been changed. You can't promote your rank by only posting such a think but the solution is to post really good quality posts that can really be helpful to anyone in the thread. You need to make sure that your post is always good and easy to understand for those who need help. In that case, you can have merit from others.

You are still a junior member like myself because you don't have merit. Merit is gained by posting quality and beneficial post on the forum. You need atleast 10 merit to upgrade to member. So keep the quality post rolling in and in no time you will upgrade to the level you want.

What is the difference between activity and merit? Merit evaluates the quality of posts whereas activity is just the frequency of posting?
I'm in the same position as you, i also have a lot of activity but no "merit" points. The difference between activity and "merit" is that "merit" points you can get from other members of this forum, but activity points are one point per post. So you have to work harder to the "merit" points gained by others. You have to write quality contributions, beneficial to many members, simply HQ posts.

Hey, I appreciate your concern. I agreed with you. I just joined here but I have more than 5 years experience other forum like forex, trading, warriorforum, blackhut, etc.

From my previous experience I came to this conclusion that only activities are not quite enough for rank up. You need to increase your activities as well as merit. But without quality content you can't achieve your desire merit.

So learn more and more. Without learning you can't climb up your position.
So don't worry just learn more and be careful about your content quality.

Have a great day...

As what I think you should have also nice compilation of sentences, grammars and also how you put punctuation in every line in your post. There are sections in this forum which they discuss about merit and you can actually find it here in the Beginners&Help Thread. Every post it should have quality and no off-topic, users need double effort so that you will be given merit from a higher ranking accounts.

As far as i know they implemented the merit system just this year to prevent spamming. Some users here keep posting topics which you can find in other posts, meaning they are doing it to increase their activities. Im actually in favor of this merit system cause it will help a lot of users especially us who are new in this forum to read and study. Its like being in a school for the first time, we need to learn what are the rules and regulations and if we want to excel well its in our jurisdiction to decide. If we keep on posting irrelevant matter or keep posting same topics over again well we might be stuck in Jr Member till we die.

I saw some members are still on the Jr member Position.but they earn lots of activities.some ones are on 200 or 300.
Honestly I am confused by what you meant here but I assume this has something to do with potential activities. Some users have this if they haven't reach their max activity (meaning they haven't posted enough). Users get 14 potential activity every 2 weeks (activity update).

You can read more about potential activities here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/askwhat-is-potential-activity-2173796

I saw some members are still on the Jr member Position.
This is because of the newly implemented merit system where you have to get merits and activities at the same time to be able to rank up.

some ones are on 200 or 300.but only gain one or two merits.some Hero Members and
Legendary Members have more merits than activities.
Merits are not earned because of the activities that a user have. It is earned by not spamming the forum (ie. being actually helpful and constructive).

How can I get merits to climb up.....
I highly suggest you to first fix your sentence construction and know how to use the proper punctuation marks.

May I ask why you are so eager to rank up soon?

You’ve barely been 24 hours on the forum according to your account details. I could go on to a lengthy posts trying to address the topics you mention, but I think that the best piece of advice I can give you is to is this:

Just as you are following your higher studies as you yourself declare on a post, study the forum and try to answer all those questions in the process. The questions you address have been answered multiple times, so searching around should suffice (use the forum’s search feature or do it from google (site:bitcointalk.org rules, site:bitcointalk.org ranks and merit, etc.)).

Activity is easy to obtain (it's just a matter of posting an average of one post per day), merit is most certainly not, and requires you to give something of value through your posts. Study the posts that do get merited in order to understand what is expected. That way, if merit is a concert to you, you will save a lot of time.

I will none the less give you a few links to start with:

The higher level people they need to make a big contribution. Those contributions are recorded by the common parts that we call it merit. The more merit you have, the easier it is to level up
You should read these recommended topics by @mdayonliner more carefully because it is likely that you did not really understand what is merit system, its operational mechanism, its benefits to forum users.

Only activities are not enough for ranking up anymore. You will need merit as well.

You get merit points when someone sends you some for one of your posts.

Quote
While we will not be directly moderating this, I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with.

Everyone now has a merit score, and you need both a certain activity level and a certain merit score in order to reach higher member ranks. The required scores are:

RankRequired activityRequired merit
Brand new00
Newbie10
Jr Member300
Member6010
Full Member120100
Sr. Member240250
Hero Member480500
LegendaryRandom in the range 775-10301000

So, It does not matter the number of activities in an account. Someone can have few thousands of activities but if they fail to earn merit then they will never rank up to Member or above anymore.

I’m a new to crypto field.I know about the ranking system in Bitcoin Forum.when I read the post and replies,I saw some members are still on the Jr member Position.but they earn lots of activities.some ones are on 200 or 300.but only gain one or two merits.some Hero Members and
Legendary Members have more merits than activities. How can I get merits to climb up.....
