The most recent attacks are because Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong supports classic. Some dark actors want to punish him for it, by forcing him to spend money defending his website, and upsetting customers. The bitcoin space isn't a nice one at the moment.

Many rumors are coming around. Probably just like the words Mike Hearn mentioned. Any pools , exchanges, nodes etc which are running XT will get ddos attacks until xt are offline.. Attackers are hating XT.

The panic selling prevention which was followed up by coinbase being offline happened yesterday.
I am sure they were offline because some actual DDOS attack because of Mike Hearn.

It's too big of a coincidence that it happen because of the price tanking.

How can one find out for sure which Bitcoin version Coinbase is using?  I'm not doubting you, I just want to see for myself.

Early this morning the Coinbase exchange went down and stayed down for hours.  It was ddos.
What motivated the attackers, does it have something to do with the block size conflict?

They were trading a lot lower than other exchanges today. Looked very much like price manipulation to me. Great someone took it on. My best guess is: attacker saw this too and decided to put them on standby for a while to protect the marketcap of bitcoin.

some even speculate that coinbase themselves took it offline so that people wont panic sell

This ever happened to Blockchain and the other online wallet service, and it's usual.
You don't have to ask why

because apparently they like to play, like it is a game http://map.norsecorp.com/

there is any source that say that coinbase itself is not attacking someone else? maybe this is an exchange warfare

I am with you on this... There are a lot of rival exchanges that might benefit from Coinbase going down and being unstable. A lot of people lost faith in Coinbase with their

supposed XT testing period. Nobody will know until they are tracked and exposed and these people go to great extremes to hide their identity. Industrial espionage and the

sabotaging of rivals are common place and companies are investing millions to counter these attacks. Coinbase should invest more in people and resources to counter these

attacks, because they are one of the main role players in this field and will come under constant attacks.

People have their own reasons for ddosing websites. Maybe some people just really hate Bitcoin, maybe they were hired. We really have no idea. Huh Huh Huh

multiple issues.
people are angry that coinbase went with hearnes version of bitcoin. and then hearn saying bitcoin failed
people are angry that another exchange called cryptsy "dun goxed"
the price tanked so some people feel if the exchange is offline and cant trade. it cant lose

some even speculate that coinbase themselves took it offline so that people wont panic sell
