Interesting question....It was up this morning when I read the post and sent a donation.

Everyone should send a donation when the site comes back - it's a great cause and very nicely written blog post about Bitcoin and p2p - everyone who has pledged in the kickstarters should donate here as well - they are doing far more than just accepting donations in bitcoin - do it!

I wonder if the site being unavailable has anything to do with this announcement.

Let's talk governance, lipstick, and pigs.
Wait. They went from not accepting Bitcoin donations to paying salaries with them?
[edit] I was thinking of the EFF.

Democracy is the original 51% attack
"It is to demonstrate our commitment to such developments, that we will now pay our collaborators in a mix of currencies, and part of it will be in Bitcoin. The first of the members of the P2P Foundation to be paid Bitcoin honoraries is our in-house researcher Nicolás Mendoza. This first income was payed 50% in Bitcoin, and we are committed to offer all of our cooperators the possibility to receive Bitcoin payments at their convenience."
