Do you know that low effort post can also be deleted as well?
Yes if your post are extremely low then admin or mod can easily get them deleted without your knowledge and of curse while posting you should try your best to put more efforts in those post so as to allow your post remain safe, the most important thing is that your post should be on topic and inline with what the discussion is moving toward to whatever that makes you deviate from the original topic were mods finds your post to be off-topic then it is very easy to get them deleted without your prior noticed. So far, here is a place were lots of visitor do visit and seek for information and you as user if you don't share an concrete information or maybe a post was copied from other site without any reference link then it is easily got deleted without any hesitation.

It's an important function on an internet discussion board where most members are incentivized to post and 85% of them don't know how to write coherently.  A certain remaining percentage are composed of spammers and the like.
I don't know exactly what you mean Chymist , but I haven't heard of any other site that places an incentives per post duly made...(aside some meagre earnings on reviews and channel discussions)...

Maybe I should consider to make a thread on "Why was my post deleted"?. I have read some random questions as the above recently in meta by newbies.
Mannn!! I've read too many of these post; logging on BTT to read post like this continuously doesn't feel any refreshing... Maybe a mega thread on the "possible reasons why your thread got deleted" should be made and pinned on the beginners and help section?.. maybe on every local board or something?.

So I created a post which mentioned a bot handled by this user in Telegram which allows for users to stay up to date on newly listed Raydium tokens and it was deleted? I do not see the reason why but is bitcointalk becoming censored now? Is this post going to be deleted as well?
If you post without following the forum posting rules, it is simple to delete that post. Why has your post been deleted? You have been notified of the message; check your inbox to see why it has been deleted. We can see why your post was deleted. You've seen it, Ninjastic, in your deleted post.

The moderator's brother will also delete this post if it is unnecessary. You should lock this post as it has received enough likes. I hope you understand the point.

Don’t feel bad mate this censorship even if some people do not like it seems to be the only way to safeguard the reputation of this forum.

I think of it less as censorship and more as mods acting as forum toilet paper, i.e., cleaning up the residual shit.  It's an important function on an internet discussion board where most members are incentivized to post and 85% of them don't know how to write coherently.  A certain remaining percentage are composed of spammers and the like.

So OP, now that you got a hundred answers to your lame question, can you please lock this thread?  It's good etiquette to do so since there's really nothing left to discuss.  Thanks in advance.

But my post was not a scam attempt... I just created a simple tool which provides notifications off all newly listed coins on Raydium? It is a simple tool but its something I created and which is in the works on to add more features but I wanted to share in case anyone wanted to show support or found it of interest...

Honestly don't understand how it is considered a scam attempt or shilling if one I have no relations to any such coins as this bot is grabbing all coins listed and two I make no money by doing this ATM.
Like I said before, it is likely your post was deleted because you posted it on the wrong board. Scams are not moderated on the forum which means that your post was not deleted because of suspicions of scam. The community’s way of handling scammers is using the trust system to alert everyone of the risks of trading with such persons.

This is a pseudonymous forum which emphasizes personal freedom and therefore also personal responsibility, so scammers are common. When trading, it's best to assume that everyone is trying to scam you, and act accordingly. Use an escrow, and take note of each user's trust ratings next to their posts and on their profiles. When you are more familiar with people around the forum, you should define your own trust list rather than using the default.

No body is above having his post deleted on the forum, those who deletes posts are the moderators and they have reasons for doing that, if you post an off topic post, then expect the post to be deleted, if the content to your post have suspicious malicious attempts then such could as well be deleted, if you're spamming, your post could be deleted, when you experience this, i don't expect to see you questioning for that, just admit it that you have already done something wrong that warrant for such.

Looks like you didn't actually read the replies.  No one called it a scam (specifically). The mods probably saw it as spam cause of where you posted about your service.  Usually they'll just move posts that are in the wrong board, but yours got deleted. Why? Because you're a brand new account, just signed up yesterday, and that was your first post ever.

So in short: newbie account joined just yesterday, first post breaks the rules - that screams "spam" to any mod.  Stick around, learn the rules, try to contribute meaningfully to discussions, and you'll be surprised how much good conversation can happen with minimal intervention from the mods.

is bitcointalk becoming censored now?

It has always been for obvious things and reasons such as scams or spam, nothing new about that, to be honest.

Is this post going to be deleted as well?

No, because it is not a spam post or a scam attempt, it's just a question that will be answered and then possibly the thread will get locked once you get your answer since it would serve no purpose then.  Smiley

You thought that Bitcointalk is not moderating scam and some posts could possibly lead to scam? Do not be frustrated that your scam post was deleted by one of the moderators. If you think here is a place you can easily direct people to telegram channel or group so that they can pay you money for your bot, know that you have failed. Look for other means to scam on this forum but you will fail. Go elsewhere to make scam attempt.

Yes somehow something’s are censored here and to my knowledge it’s the best. In your case you can just bring up a link to a telegram handle here as a newbie and you want it to be treated as not a scam even if it is not, we all know that telegram is almost like a den of thieves. So my guess is your post must have been reported to deleted and the Mods checked it and found it wanting.

Don’t feel bad mate this censorship even if some people do not like it seems to be the only way to safeguard the reputation of this forum. It’s difficult to run a decentralized forum like this without it been filled with scammers, even here is filled with it. But it’s just not as high as dark sites. And No this post wouldn’t be deleted mate. So no need to worry about the deleted thread except if there is a hidden agenda on it

Talking about a Telegram bot/channel, with a brand new Bitcointalk account(literally just created yesterday). Regardless if you have good intentions or not(haven't seen your actual post), that's simply a red flag for scams or a shady promotion, hence likely why your post was deleted.

Bitcointalk is against spam and zero-value posts and bumping services, shilling services or potentially scam shilling efforts.

If your posts are constructive, good in quality, education, your posts will not be deleted.

Read forum rules.

Maybe your post is considered spam or reported spam by other members so the moderator chooses to delete your post. Make your post have more value, have arguments, and have semantic value so that your post is not deleted even if you misplace the post, usually the moderator will not delete it but just move it. AFAIK

Bitcointalk is not a darksite so even though it upholds the value of freedom, there are limits, at least Bitcointalk really doesn't like plagiarism and spam.

There are a number of reasons why posts are deleted from the forum; plagiarism, off-topic, low quality e.t.c. In your case, it seems you made the post in the wrong board and someone reported it. Scams are not moderated on the forum so your case is definitely not the mods calling your project a scam.
