I bumped it after 4 months.

I did not reply after that because the troll from KaneVWE (don't want to feed the troll) and DdmrDdmr answered well with his reply

Another reason is such big statistics don't change much over time (honestly I planned to run updating analysis but DdmrDdmr did it too fast).

I did not report any post in that thread and I am not sure what happened with NotATether's post.

I think if there is a post should be deleted, that is the trolling post.

It wasn't a necrobump: OP bumped the topic 3 days earlier, which is allowed. It also makes sense OP deleted his bump after another post was made (I do that too when I notice it), so to the Mod it looked like a necrobump.
If negrobumping would be the reason, it doesn't make sense that posts made after that (and even quoting NotATether) were left alone.

Possibly, but I'm only relaying what was reported. Thread doesn't seem old enough to be considered a necrobump to be honest. The full report was "necro bumping - spam - really worthless post". Can't comment on whether it's spam or not but maybe the reporter or person who handled it can chime in on their reasons.

It's not going to change anything as far as the deleted post goes.
I've seen theymos restore a post in a heated discussion in Politics & Society, but it's quite rare indeed.

looks like it was reported as a necrobump.

except that I quoted a 5-month-old reply.

Umm, that sort of sounds the reason why it got deleted. Your post is on-topic and all but certainly doesn't bring in any constructive content that would be reasonable to quote a 5 months old reply. This is what signature spammers do when they want to write something which they think would come off as constructive but doesn't actually add any constructive content to the thread.

I think such a complaint would be suitable in the Meta board rather than Reputation because it involves forum moderation policy.
Yeah, that was the first thing I thought when I clicked on this thread.

OP, sometimes posts get deleted for reasons you'll never figure out.  Unless the moderator who deleted it checks in here and tells you why, all you and anyone else can do is guess--which is wasted mental energy IMO.  Since your deleted post wasn't so important that it absolutely needed to stay in that thread, my suggestion to you is to just let it go.  The only situation in which you need to be worried is the one in which a lot of your posts are being deleted--but that usually happens with very low-quality posters, spammers, and the like.  You don't fit into that category, so let it just roll off your back and move on.

A lot of us have had posts deleted where we scratch our heads and wonder why.  I've had my share over the years, and creating threads like this is a waste of time because 1) You probably won't find out the real reason, and 2) It's not going to change anything as far as the deleted post goes.

Doesn't strike me as off topic enough to warrant being deleted, although the information provided in your reply could be calculated from the one you quoted, for anyone interested in it. Also since the discussion was about statistics, which changes with time; the time elapsed could have been the reason it was deleted as it could have skewed the result.

Of course only the user who made the report and the mod who acted can explain the exact reason. I would not however be too bothered about a deleted post.

Yes It could be calculated but it wasn't. And he did calculate it for us.

If the mods are going to delete every post like the OP's, the forum would lost ~80% of its posts I think.

I believe it was a missclick.

I’m not sure why this was deleted. I can’t think of any reason someone would report this except that I quoted a 5-month-old reply. The reply itself was very on-topic to the thread (which I will not derail with this question).

Top 1% merited -> 45,32% of total amount of earned merits.

There are nearly 3 million registered users here, maybe more. So the top 1% spans 30,000 users. BPIP gives awards for he top 1000 merit earners, which includes pretty much everyone with 250+ merits, so I estimate that the top 30K of merit earners have at least 10, or even 5 earned merits.

The post immediately before mine was a bump so maybe someone reported both of them?
