Being disconnected from the main site makes us less official, which in turns makes the media less likely to use someones inane post as a source of valid information.
Ah now I understand why the Forums link on bitcoin.org merely links a google search for bitcoin forums since a while ago.
Why don't they go all the way and use lmgtfy.com then.
