Selling of voters without voting the credible person who is supposed to be the president will keep the country into frustration for another complete tenure,  why people sell  their votes is because of conditions not because of its the preferred candidate, but we have to know that any mistakes we make now will lead us for another suffer for years coming for the citizens

I also believe that if you sell your vote but opt to choose a credible candidate rather than the one who buys your vote, it would make an impression that these acts no longer works anymore. Unfortunately, most of the people in our country, whenever there's money involved, which would only help them in just one day, they often dedicate their vote to that person who buys the vote even though it isn't the best candidate. I can't blame those people since they just want something that could get them throughout the day without considering the long term effects. This is sad because at the end of the day, we all would suffer for these mistakes since it would affect the way the country would move forward. Let's just hope that all would ends well.

Why we should note sell our votes

Since the OP has not corrected the word "note" in his thread title, maybe he means it. After all, our money is in 'note' form. Just look at any dollar bill - "Federal Reserve Note." Maybe the OP found a benefit in selling our votes in 'note' form, and he simply isn't explaining it.

Your vote is your legal power.your vote is your voice.selling your vote makes you speechless and a political slave

Not even for 1 bitcoin?
not even for 10 bitcoins, consider how many bitcoins you'll be able to own if the economy system is favourable, consider your fellow citizens and how the bad economy would affect them??
No body deserves to be unhappy, nobody deserves to be a slave in his own father's land, retain your right and save your vote.

Looking at this country now ,not all people want to move from the state we are to the next level

Selling our votes is like selling our life's for the years the president will be in seat ,

Selling our votes will only increase curruption ,I thought everyone was saying that we should avoid bribing and curruption too,but it's not like the way we said it 😩

Selling our votes will make things hard for our country ,what we should be looking at is the next years we will spend,if it will be a proud one or a disappointment ,some are just thinking of the present situation by selling their votes ,in the next years to come they will be the ones to cry out .

We should really think about the poor too, some are just greedy and thinking only of themselves and their benefits, this is our country ,if there is any way we make progress it's by our own selves not other countries coming to make decisions for us.

Most of us says that we wished our lives or our country will be as that of other outside country ,but the question is are you really making this country move too,or you are one of those that are dragging this country behind ?? When it comes to bribing and curruption do we resist it my not selling our votes for selfish reasons that will not last

Let's discuss about this ,I also need ur opinion
your vote is your voice! If you sale the only voice you have, what do you use to defend yourself??
Far from that, what path are you clearing for your generation??

Voting is a democratic right of citizens of every country. Among them are many people who actually sell their votes to vote for different political parties. It is indeed a crime for a rightful voter to sell his vote to another bad guy instead of voting for him.  LIt is especially seen that the whole society, country and nation will be damaged. So one should never sell one's vote one should vote for the one who is not on the wrong path.

If you know the extent of what money can buy and where it can go, you will see beyond ordinary using it to buy votes, if money can kill a fellow brother, denied own parents or children, cause war, make marriage break-up and many disastrous effect it can cause, you will understand together with me why some people have also set their mind that money is the root of evil, i wont deceive you here, if you were given money, you will see the truth and go for the wrong path because of the negative influence it possess, only few cannot sell their rights with money because they realize their worth and value.

Since there are loads of corrupt vote counters, standard voting is not going to do any good. So, what should we do?

Do not sell your vote! What is your vote? It's your gun. You just might need it to help get rid of the corruption in government... especially corruption in the election department.

Do not sell your vote!

It's important to note that selling your votes is illegal and could lead to severe consequences. It shouldn't even be an option when voting.

Imagine the impact you are giving towards the society you live in if you were to do it. It's unethical, so based on that reason and the underlying knowledge that it's illegal, don't do it.

I do hope that people stop being greedy and let everyone grow.
That's the sad reality, people becoming more greedy. Selling your votes is like selling yourself to that government. Its like you are allowing them to do what they want not knowing if its good for you, for your country or for themselves only. As I see on social media platform like Facebook and twitter, most people who got bought their votes are the poor ones with lack of knowledge. Running candidates offering a money in exchange to their votes, Since some of those people are not thinking whatever the background that candidate has they will vote it. In the end they suffer more and asking for a change, well in fact they have the chance to choose a better leader but they vote the wrong ones because of money. Think for the future not only for today. Your vote is important and will have a big impact for the change you are asking for in your government that you have.

If citizens still take or accept bribes for the choice of candidate to represent them at this age, I can only say that such country people are already programmed to be so, and you can't easily change their minds, not for anything. We have seen what vote buying has done to the people of a country in this era. When you sell your vote, you are implying that you have sold your next few years for the person to be in the seat for your selfish interest, which will only last for a few hours. A leader who buys votes to gain a seat already exhibits the characteristics of a corrupt leader; he will undoubtedly steal from the people's fund to repay the money he used to buy them in the first place.

^^^ From Stalin, "The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything."
If the people who count the vote are biased and have been bought over by money, the people who voted have just wasted their time in voting because it can be manipulated by the people that count. Corrupt officials and people with low integrity should not be allowed to be head of any body in charge of an election because it is a key position in government. Another thing is that the person should be someone that should have the interest of serving the people and not the politicians.

From my experience, I've seen the effect of electing the bad government officials especially the higher ranks where justice system is already affected and corruption arises that increases the rate of poverty and lack of supplies for those who need. Inflation rate also increases. These are the results of selling votes that people would have to suffer for years. I think this would help incase there's a sell vote happening in your country.

1. Expose them

2. Do not accept them. never

3. Choose wisely because they will serve your country for years that what democrasy for.

Generally, vote buying and selling can't be done in a way big enough to do any damage. Why not? Because there aren't many people who would do it in the first place... and because there isn't any way to double check that the vote(r) you paid for is voting the way you want.

There is too much danger in voting personally in many voting stations at once. So, few people do it. Besides, your average person is rather honest and wouldn't do this kind of thing at all.

The danger is with corrupt election systems, especially corrupt vote-counting practices.

People like BLM, Antifa, and illegals coming up over the border, have already sold their votes to Dems. So, why don't the Reps offer them even more money, and buy the votes back?

Cool

Realistically, BLM and alleged Antifa members are more likely to vote democrat because their political agenda is more aligned with the agenda of the Democrat party. Black people see or perceive that Democrat politicians are more favorable to them, and people from the left agree on many of the talking points of the party.

And as far as I know, in order to vote in the United States, one needs to be a citizen. So immigrants cannot vote right away and if they become citizens and end up voting democrat it is (again) because they believe that party gives them more priority and representation than the Republican party.
I don't think vote buying is rampant in the US. The reason why many people sell heir votes is not that they are greedy but some are hungry. When someone has not eaten for days if you offer him anything he would take and sell his vote. And that's the case in some parts of Africa. In America, I think people vote because of interest. Blacks and other minorities will vote for any party that will protect their interest. It is generally perceived that some Republicans are racist like in the case of Donald Trump.
It is also true that Democrats are lenient to illegal immigrants and we can see the inflow of these immigrants into America during this Biden administration, but like @Hispo rightly said most of them cannot vote because they are not citizens.

More realistically, the only reason for these organizations is to get better living conditions. And better living conditions can be had if you have money. Buy their votes back. They want the money. I mean, look at all the money going to Ukraine - we can barely visualize what $100 billion is like. Why do we have to suffer?

Cool

I thought we were talking about United States nationals who prefer to vote democrat. The Ukraine situation is rather an issue of foreign policies.
What I am trying to say is that the Republican party would do better within the black and Hispanic sector of the American population if they were willing to treat those people better and acknowledging the history of discrimination and inequality against people of color or Spanish speaking people.

I doubt the democrat party is actually sending checks to most of their base, but rather they defend social programs which benefit them and some members of the Republican party have been willing to cut in the past.

People are greedy for money and can do anything.  People are running on the path of injustice by selling very valuable votes.  I would like to mention about my country that our country's government administration takes all the votes alone.  The administration and the government do not give any chance to the opposition and sell the votes later due to the greed of public money.  These are heinous crimes in the eyes of the law which are enough to take it to the height of corruption.

In as much as it's not good to sell our votes, in as much as we should always have our PVCs and vote our conscience which is the right thing to do, I just want to ask a very simple question,
Does our votes count?
Let's just take a look at the very past presidential elections, in Rivers State, so many persons voted for peter obi of labour party, but when the results came out from inec, it was tinubu that won, even in my unit at eleme that peter obi won, at a long run inec gave our votes to tinubu,
So do you think anyone would love to vote their conscience again? When they know Inec will manipulate their votes and give it to whom they prefer, don't you think the people will rather want to sell their votes for any petty money via the instincts that after all their votes won't count?

Please let's think about this...

When people see all these electoral malpractices, they just decide to sell their vote because with or without their vote, the winner of the election has already been predetermined.

In my opinion, this justification is more dangerous than doing the act itself. It means to justify to those who sell their votes that they will not change the results whether they vote or not, because if this were true, there would be no buying of votes.
Let's be frank, these manifestations spread among impoverished peoples whose rulers only remember them during the election period, so they buy their votes to strengthen their seats. In general, purchases are not successful unless the number of candidates is large.
I agree that vote selling should be highly discouraged because it is a criminal offense. But you might not understand the Nigerian situation. In Nigeria, politicians buy votes and also rig elections. They engage in vote buying just to ensure they win if they fail to rig it. The target of corrupt Nigerian politicians is to use vote buying, violence, voting suppression, intimidation, tribalism, and religion to gain political power by all means. An example is the recently conducted Nigerian elections where Peter Obi the Labour Party candidate was the clear winner but the elections were clearly and openly rigged.

I expect that you mean your country is Nigeria, since it is the only country, as far as I know, in which presidential elections are held, which began yesterday, Saturday. Isn't it?

In the Nigerian example, the hypothesis of the candidates' offer to buy votes is very candidate, since there are 18 candidates competing for one seat (presidency). Of course, this falls within the list of political corruption, because a person who works to buy votes from voters to ensure victory means that he is not eligible for that position.
As for the voters, they are also involved in corruption if they accept to sell their votes at any cost.

What happens when the politicians offer indirect bribes? Promising the voting population direct stimulus or social welfare for their votes? Of course this is the appeal socialism/communism gives. It's using government resources to purchase votes under the guise of welfare programs. These programs have never been successful. They've just created a lot of debt. Voters are susceptible to such bribes -- why wouldn't they be. It's free money!

COVID produced a lot of this. Politicians running all over the world made sure to promise nonexistent government assets to the voters in order to help their reelection campaigns.

I'd be willing to sell my vote as long as the people buying it were going to want me to vote for the same person I would have anyway.  Thinking about it...  With all the money now going into lawsuits about voting machines and crooked politicians, buying votes, etc...  Maybe the answer is to start offering people personal tax breaks for voting.  Imagine something like the minimum deduction on your taxes goes from $16K to $20K if you vote...  That would certainly help low income people be motivated to vote instead of selling theirs...  It seems like a good idea for something I just thought of now.  If large organizations are going to start buying votes, maybe it's time to start incentivizing voters to vote for themselves.

In Nigeria today selling our votes mean selling our conscience.
It means selling our right and all that comes with democracy.
Enslaving ourselves for the next four to eight years, not just us but the next generation coming after us.
We must stand for true democracy, by making the election free and fair, vote wisely.
Let vote in a leader that will improve our country, a visionary leader, a man with a passionate goal to change the static ways of doing things in this country.
A leader who has his citizens at heart, who makes decision's not for his selfish interest but in the interest of the citizens, a Leader who Is not just eager to make himself Rich but to enrich the land and its citizens.

Votes should not be sold no matter the amount offered to you, there is no justification to such act , nevertheless the major problem that subjects people to sell their votes is poverty” a corrupt government will subject its citizens to abject poverty, frustrate them with hunger and ended up intimidating them with peanuts in the name of bribe and buying their votes during elections.
For the masses to select competent leaders during election, they must say “No” to vote buying and selling, Vote buying is the first stage in Election rigging.

If you see the corruption that is making some people said they're both in that country because they are not using the modern facility to conduct election of a particular country I think if the country is United or she was enough they would have adopted the system of the following country method of election before conducting election election is full of manipulation that is why people are selling their food knowing that their wall does not count

As for the voters, they are also involved in corruption if they accept to sell their votes at any cost.
One of the reasons why people sell their votes is that they assume that their votes wouldn't count. These corrupt politicians have devised means to manipulate electoral results to suit their preferred candidates. Some electoral officials collect bribes from politicians to influence the election results. And this is what is happening right now in Nigeria. Electoral officials have refused to submit the election result to the central server because they have been induced to claim that there is no network. This gives them the privilege of changing the results and sending the fake one to the server.

When people see all these electoral malpractices, they just decide to sell their vote because with or without their vote, the winner of the election has already been predetermined.

It would be disgusting for someone to eventually sell their votes for peanuts after 8 years of living in hell as a Nigerian citizen. Anyone proven to have sold their votes demonstrates that they don't care about the future of the nation but instead enjoy suffering.

vote buying is now a custom in Nigeria politics, voters do not wait to be Given bribe again, they now demand as if it's their right to be given money before casting their vote. I blame politicians less in this evil act. Citizens voters education should be taking serious. Because the citizens are worst than the politicians, they're ready to sell their vote with a little money and suffer in the hands of same politicians for fours years.
That was in the previous elections not in this election. People turned out in large numbers to cast their votes for the best candidate in the current election without accepting or soliciting bribes in exchange for their participation in the country's election.

Nigeria's sole current issue is that politicians use military personnel to oppress the public through INEC in order to skew the results in their favor.

Looking at this country now ,not all people want to move from the state we are to the next level

When people see all these electoral malpractices, they just decide to sell their vote because with or without their vote, the winner of the election has already been predetermined.
vote buying is now a custom in Nigeria politics, voters do not wait to be Given bribe again, they now demand as if it's their right to be given money before casting their vote. I blame politicians less in this evil act. Citizens voters education should be taking serious. Because the citizens are worst than the politicians, they're ready to sell their vote with a little money and suffer in the hands of same politicians for fours years.

Sell your vote only under both of the following 2 circumstances:
1. When you can get all the money the buyer of your vote has;
2. When it sets you up wealthy for the rest of your life.

It's like in America, "We have the best government that money can buy."
