To be honest, it's not worth the effort to learn a whole new language and give up on English.  Learning a language past 20 years of age is incredibly difficult.

Terminated.
Are you talking about the women or to live in general?
I'm not talking about living conditions as I have not lived there. I did however spent quite some time there and everything is great, it isn't even expensive.

Is the food really that good though? not enough to justify going to live to another country.

Yup. No one eats as great as italians do, but it isn't a valid reason to move to another country tho.

For the youngs Bologna is the best city in Italy where to live at this moment. Too bad it just passed the spike of the 90s underground golden age, but it's way better than the other italian cities such as Rome, Milan, Turin, etc.
In Spain I'd go with Madrid.

You wouldn't be giving up on English. And kids learn languages much easier, but learning a new language if you have to deal with it everyday isn't that hard. Then, most people there know some English anyway, making the process easier.

In my time there I came across hardly anyone who spoke English. French is the most common second language. Maybe I wasn't hanging out in the right places. It's a pretty easy language to learn.

That's weird. Were you there recently (these last couple of decades)? And in urban areas? I would imagine most students these days pick English over French or German. But I can see that in more rural areas that might not be true.

This was around 2000 or so. It was about 50km outside Bologna but I was all over Italy.

But the winter especially at the coast is very rainy. So, i think i'll pass.Wink
I'm in Sicily and here the rain is a very rare thing.
If You stay some 3 or 5 KM from the coast - is very nice in winter time.

I lived in Italy for a year. They definitely have better ideas about living than countries further north but the inefficiency, bureaucracy and nepotism drove me a bit batty in the end. Good to wash up there at the end of your life. If you're looking to get ahead then shop elsewhere.

Both are nice countries, I would choose south of Italy or east of Spain and by east of Spain I mean Ibiza!

Perk your brain up by using a Solaray product called Ginseng & Gotu Kola. Besides the active ingredients in its name, it also includes that active ingredient Eleuthero. Works. But be sure to maintain a good diet, because you can stress your brain otherwise. Solaray suggests using the product 2 weeks, and then taking a week off.

What you guys think ? Does forum girls like to have girlfriend/husband from Italy or Spain ?

I think the two main reasons are the weather and the food. Can't beat that combination !

I don't know if I would like life over there but I read you could buy a house in Sicily for €1!! xD
But they are old houses of course and you have to hire local workers to renovate them.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking about here. But I can tell you that I was stationed in Rota, Spain (Southern Spain on the Atlantic side of the Straits of Gibralter) for two years, and I loved it! The Spaniards there were extremely rude to Americans, unless we were spending money, that is. But the country was beautiful, the weather was great most of the year, the women were drop-dead georgous, the food was excellent, and it was cheap and easy to do plenty of traveling and sight-seeing. I would go back in a heart beat.
