There are multiple forms of investments available now, i have seen group of investors making a company and then they find ideas or startups fund them and keep large percentage of equity of shares for themselves, this kind of investments have been very successful but there are sole investment options as well but i think it is better to form a company and do proper paper work about each investment or partnership, other private investments sound risky as there have been many cases of frauds.
It's not about funds only, the reason why projects become successful is the use case of the project and the team expert levels, many projects get the fund for development but in the end they become useless and worthless in a year of few months later
That requires a lot of money but acquiring other companies to get bigger has been a thing for decades now, it is not something new. A lot of companies actually grew bigger and bigger by just buying out other companies or basically competition and just got bigger. Google literally became what it is today thanks to all the companies it bought, look at facebook and how big they became after buying whatsapp and instagram.
However one problem is crypto companies themselves are not really that big enough to buy other companies, and it is not really that easy to buy them out, so buying shares of some companies looks like a better start for them. Crypto exchanges are the richest ones, but what are they going to buy? So, it is not that easy for them right now but maybe in the future that will be more common.

Private investment looks to be good option if u can defend the credibility of the project and require good funding. Private investors could be long term base on how attractive the offer is and I expect a strategy that can extend the exit plan of every investor. For possibilities of scam, project should at this time design a staggered investment process, that fund the delivery of each milestone till the project is sustainable. Such approach will be attractive for any investor
I think that companies will not succeed with this company. After all, cryptocurrency needs unique thinking to predict it.

I think not just in crypto, but in other business, this model has been practice for a long time.
One advantage is that you can really expand your business and its operations as you have said. But this is a gamble though, we really don't know what's going to happen, still 50/50. We all know that crypto market is still in infancy, lots of ups and down, just look at some exchanges that closed in 2019, who would have thought that after a huge bull run in 2017, the market will crash so hard in the next 2 years or so that businesses are forced to shut down?
So we really can't say what's going to happen, we can only wish that they make the right decision.

We all need to understand that the growth of a project is not dependent on havinf private partnership and investments all around.
We need to understand that it depends on what such project has to offer, (product). We have several such tokens with lots of partnership and nothing to show for it.

Every platform and team have their aims and objectives, as well as motivating factors, that is, AVA lab did it, others might not, while others might even do more than AVA did. In my opinion it all depends on the team, their experiences and so on and as a potential investor if a platform is aiming to take such step the first thing is to know if they have truly managed their own platform before acquiring another. So in essence, for another platform to do what AVA did, the team must have what it takes to do so as well as having an encouraging and supportive community.

Depends to the management how they will handle and manage the acquired investment or company. It's not like what we mostly think that just because they've acquired something, it's already a plus to them. In the long run, this will be on their hands and they will determine the future of such acquired asset/investment. I don't know how ava manages their entire company and their partners but if they're good in handling, they're likely to succeed and other companies too can be like that.

It totally depends on how the community react towards the news. Acquiring other companies doesn't guarantee your companies been successful, sometimes these companies acquired are just strategy to eliminate any business competitor they would have had and not necessary as a means of expending their business operation.
I don't have any idea about the project you just highlighted above so can't say much in regards to them been successful or not but it seems they're not that visible (popular) in the crypto space so I would just assume they are not as successful as you're advertising them. Having said that, the success of a companies doesn't only depend on team although they play a very vital role especially when it comes to fund management and decision making.

Although it counts that the team is really capable of properly managing the funds, it is not the only thing that counts. There's just so many factors involved.
Acquiring private investments means that you are also very capable of taking up the task itself. It is not an easy task managing the funds of other people. That entails a lot of trust which you cannot afford wasting. There might not be a second chance at all if you flunk and your company is done.
