New here....and fascinated reading all of the potential trades going on.

We have a website selling luxury fabrics and are considering going global ( https://fabric-direct.co.uk/made-to-measure-curtains-online )

Is there a way of incorporating bitcoin into payment gateways, such as PayPal, Sage etc???

Curious....
There are api's into coinbase for squareup and multiple vendors to accept crypto.
There's "TONS" of ways to do ecommerce with bitcoin.
Hi! You can check in reddit about bitcoin. It's an app that you can download in your smartphone and search there the topic you want to know about all things you interested like bitcoin. And about selling luxury items, you can actually sell also in bitcoin and people will pay you via crypto. About your last question 'Is there any way of incorporating bitcoin into payment?' The answer is "YES". In fact, they are doing it currently. Some supermarkets accept crypto in paying for goods and can use bitcoin fo regular transactions. I would love to share some link but sadly I can't find it.

The above gateways would easily take care of that part.
I have to update my knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency integration. I had been believing that this kind of thing has been a problem for bitcoin and I thought it wasn't solved already. If it is solved then the only problem that OP is facing is advertising his/her e-commerce website.

Not into those but there are various ways to run them side by side. Here's a comment that I just made the other day with regards to a different use case but it's also valid for your question:
- Since you're not going to use it in a brick-and-mortar store, then ignore what I said in regards to Blockonomics needing a workaround.

I'd recommend going with either "Blockonomics [easy to set up but depending on how you want to use it, it may require a workaround of some sort]" or "BTCPay [it takes longer to set up but you'll be in full control]".
- Other options: Bitcoin Payment Processors

The only problem with that is you have to always update the prices because it is volatile and minor change in the market could be a profit or a loss for your company.

I don't know much about bitcoin integration in e-commerce but if you have the programmers to do it, you can actually do it with ease. The only problem with that is you have to always update the prices because it is volatile and minor change in the market could be a profit or a loss for your company. To answer the title, I think that it will be difficult for bitcoin to become a standard currency for online shopping because there isn't much bitcoin to go around and there are a lot of people who are doing their shopping online as of this moment and I think that bitcoin would be enough to shoulder all the transaction and it is also worth mentioning that there is still a problem with slow transaction due to the network being congested because there are a lot of transactions.
