Predicting the future of decentralised market is obviously not possible. A single negative or positive news has a huge impact on price. There might be some event in future that might effect price negatively and Bitcoin might reach $2500. But as for today I don't see any such event lined up which can take Bitcoin price back to $2500.
Market prediction of decentralized functioning can't be made in a precise manner. The entire market moves forward based on the trust and the speculation based on the markets. Long back when price crossed $2500 it's expected not to go down to $2000, but the same went in the opposite manner. The price dropped low to $1900 and grew suddenly. Hope the price never falls low anymore.

Just curios. any ideas?

There are just no guarantees when it comes to trading. Nobody can predict the future.

Price might just stabilize but i do think that it's probably going to get dumped real hard, perhaps even down to $2000 or less as xypos said. Right now everybody seems to be confident about bitcoin staying up above $4000 per coin, but this mentality changes very quickly when the price drops by even just $300 in a day.

Obviously if there is a catastrophic event then bitcoin can definitely go down to $1k or less, but i think naturally there is a pattern where around 1 year after the halving there is a big pump, and then the following 2 years people just dump and price stabilizes at a much lower level.

Don't forget that bitcoin has come from $2500 at the start of the month. And it only took 2 weeks for bitcoin to get to what it is at right now.

Plus, dumping bitcoins massively usually takes less time for bitcoin to climb its way up.

I'd say that it is definitely something that you've got to prepare for. It might seem completely unlikely that it's going to happen right now, but in 2013 bitcoin went from $1300 to $500 in a few days time. It might be going up one day and all of a sudden everything is just in red.

I'd say even below $2000 is possible. It just depends on whether people panic on a massive scale, and make others panic alongside them, resulting in a big ass dump.

That would be only be a 30% drop. BTC has certainly managed that with ease in the past.

The question is do its moves retain their magnitude as the price goes higher? Maybe they will. I really thought the moves we've seen would be far more sluggish than they've  been.

In theory this can happen shortly. In practise, the market trend for bitcoin is way better than others see, thus I don't see any factor that will pull bitcoin down here in these days. Remember going down to $2500 from $4000 is a 1 day long job for bitcoin.
i do not think so that it  will ever drop below 2500$

There's no bad rythm blocking it right now and the status of bitcoins is currently at upper trend so we might see some major + price on bitcoins right now and dropping for 2500$ is just a myth since I'm so sure that many people want to buy and stake for good with this coin.

i do not think so that it  will ever drop below 2500$. although anything is possible the price can even drop below 2500$ but if we study the market we can see that the bullish trend is still continue and people are expecting that very soon the price of bitcoin will reach to 5000$, therefore i do not thin that the price of bitcoin is fell down but will continue increase for the whole year.

That is possible because bitcoin has no fix value and continue to fluctuate from time to time. We maybe experiencing sudden increase in price of bitcoin today buy we don't know until when this pump would last. Bitcoin can crashed very low and can also rise very high it's really unpredictable.
although everything is possible but  i think that in present time bitcoin is becoming more and popular and therefore people are investing money in bitcoin which is making bitcoin more stronger therefore we do not expect that bitcoin price will ever reduce to 2500.

It is possible. I am not quite sure yet if Bitcoin will even go down beneath the 3000 dollar mark. Bitcoin seems to climb up so much within just a couple of week and I am having doubts about the current price. I feel like it is just a bubble that might pop anytime soon. However, I am not sure of what really is the probable reason about the price increase. I just hope it will sustain its price and if a correction takes place, around 3500 dollar should be fair enough.

I really think so, yes. Because as what we all have seen in the past, it has already happened so many times. Sometimes even larger drops happen. It is not a matter of a question like if, it is a matter of when. Because it will certainly happen. But i dont think as early as this year. Maybe next year. But I'm not sure either. Only time can really tell.

Maybe, no one knows but with the current price of bitcoin right now, i'm not sure it will happen soon. If the bitcoin price dropped below $2,500, that must be something big happen on that day and makes the price keep dropped. In my opinion, the bitcoin price is on positive way. No way the bitcoin price can reach $2,500 in the end of the year.

Depends on where the new ATH/top is. If the new ATH is something like $25000, then dropping below $2500 is unlikely. If new ATH is $5000, then sure $2500 is very likely to be seen again when Bitcoin enters a multi-year bear market.
What is ATH? I keep finding out what ATH is, but I do not get answers that I can understand. Can you explain ATH to me?

I'm very unconvinced that bitcoin will drop below $2500, every day I wake up from my bed, I see bitcoin prices keep increasing and only a few percent descent, so I'm sure bitcoin will stay on top.

Most likely i think it will not happening, bitcoin prices will continue to rise and stable above that. Use this opportunity as best you can, make a big profit while there is a chance. I'm sure bitcoin prices will continue to rise and become more popular for many peoples.
I do not agree with you, because I think the bitcoin price is now rising. And it can go down anytime, so we do not have to wonder the bitcoin price goes down, because on the way home the bitcoin price will make everyone get rich suddenly. Because they used the opportunity by selling their bitcoin.
Important next drop down the price of Bitcoin when is lowest price and how many time for Bitcoin recovery the price? This is the question make me can't continue buy Bitcoin at now, I'm fearing in short time Bitcoin price have flash crash.

I don't think that it js possible for thr bitcoin to go again at 2500$ because 2500$ was the condition to reach due to fear of loss of btc inthe experiment of the bitcoin network ( stupid thinking by few newbie and noobs ) but as official announcement told directly no chances of loss , so after this the price get rise in the market .
And now k don't think that the team kf blockchain network will make any more experiment atleast in the next 2-3 years , and also i don't think any risk will be involved with the bitcoin because bitcoin is king and no one can make crash this coin , even with the down in the price people who are intelligent  will buy more and more and will make stable in the price .
So don't think much about to go down , here 5-10% down in the price is a simple thing .

I believe it could crash back to below $2500. Think about it we are in an exponential climb now this cannot last forever and eventually it will crash to a lower level probably in the low 2,000s.

This might be the last time..
This may be the last time..
may be the last time, i don't know..

I really hope so. There's still a great number of people with very meager resources who have yet to become enlightened. It's wonderful to get in on the ground floor.  People think that someone has to loose in order for someone else to win.. and this is often the case, but if everyone would simply cash out half their portfolio every-time they double their money - then eventually go off and find something else to do with their fortune, everyone could double their money a few times and become wealthy after a few bubble cycles..  sometimes take a loss, but always make it up eventually, and then double it if they just stay in the game.

The more you invest, the more you make.. each time it doubles you return the seed money and get straight - hope it doesn't tank so you can make your remaining 1/2 - double a second time, but even if it does - you are straight, because you returned the initial seed money to savings.

I bought two bitcoin at $450 and was flipping alts for fun as time allowed. It took forever to get to four BTC.. and I kept selling half my earnings every-time it doubled.. I took small profits each time I doubled the price because I bought mine cheap and had only half as many.. to sell with each double. I know its small potatoes but I couldn't afford to loose anymore than the $900 I orig. put in.. I made that back on the first double and returned it to savings.. I cant tell you how many debt slaves I've woken up along the way who want to ride a bitcoin bubble.

I know that's such small potatoes to sooo many people but I have a small business that depends on me to run and I can't give up real world responsibilities for the potential to get rich quick. no matter how much I wish I had. =).  So YES, i think it will and I hope it does. It MUST.

Take your profit and get out now so that it can, and you aren't hurt when it does.

That looks so far from now. I think we will never see sub-2500$ prices for now, ever. At least people that did not entered in early will not have a magic second chance, and better it that way, world is for people of action, not long thinkers.

If we are to look at it, it should fall by $1500. So I think its impossible to see that price dip without someone buying back bitcoin. So for me its gonna happened now.

It's not possible tho it will be a little percentage that it would happen im waiting till that price goes by so i can buy a lot of bitcoin atleast 5 bitcoin since i sell my bitcoin when it was at $2700 price each. so that would be a great opportunity for me. that's why I'm always checking the price of bitcoin everytime so i can buy immediately once it happen.

This is what I'm thinking. Because right now a lot of people are thinking of buying bitcoin. If there is a correction like $3000 or below, people would suddenly panic buys because the price is that low so it impossible to go deep at $1500 right. Investors will go crazy now even if the price is $3000 for buying order.
yes its not look like that bitcoin price will fell down any more. in fact still people continue to buy and not or at least to hold the bitcon that  they already have and not going to sell therefore price will continue increasing.

It is impossible, take a look at the current value of bitcoin, too large so that it can go down $ 2500. Bitcoin is going up, its value can fluctuate and it may go down, but it just goes down very little.
For today video is already more than 4000 dollars for one Bitcoin, very hardly it seems that the price will go down. Every user expects that Bitcoin will grow and today will not. At this stop. I already and indeed that Bitcoin will reach 5000 dollars at the end of the year. But you can not find all the answers to the questions.

Of course it's possible. Price was in that range 14 days ago. It can go down as easily, maybe even faster. This is bitcoin afterall, anything can happen. But my guess is, it will go upward for a while and hit price slightly above 5k before weekend. Then there will be correction and my crystal ball says it will go down to 2.8k where I placed my buy order, lol. Another possibility is correction just after segwit activation - that"s the place where most traders who bought earlier because of segwit will sell.

Looking the ongoing price pumping I hope the price never falls below $2500. With the price, fluctuation might take place and the same won't cause a bigger drop. In my personal thinking I hope the price might stay above $4000 for the upcoming days as price is expected to reach $5000 by the year end.
Fall down of bitcoin to $2500 it is a big question?? Because the possibility to fall down bitcoin amount into $2500 amount is only 5%. However I believe that bitcoin value was not declining this time.
But next flash crash the price of Bitcoin will be crash -30% or -50% the value is possible, because let's remember again the price of Bitcoin after reached to $3000 in July, it has crashed to $1800 in few hours and recovery growth until today.

In trading, everything can happen. Bolted and collapsed are common conditions. Depending on our foresight in utilizing atmosphere as is the case today. Most of us as bitcoin holders, certainly have enjoyed great profit. Of course, there's no harm if we glance at the falling altcoin, so portion of investment isn't just on bitcoin.

If you think the price may increase why there is no possibility for the price to fall, I think the price could fall below $ 2500 even more than that. It all depends on how market demand to the bitcoin.

nothing is impossible but if you are going to make plans based on this assumption that price may drop to that price then you may end up holding fiat in hands forever.

let me give you a very recent example so you can understand what i say better.
last month (July 2017) price went up to $2400+ and there was a lot of FUD about the split and how bitcoin is going to die in 1 August (13 days ago!). and as it was expected price dropped.
by that time many were repeatedly saying price will go to $1500 and as a result many were waiting for that price to come. you can now look at the charts and see that not only $1500 never happened, but also price remained above $2000 and only touched below that price for a couple of hours.

now $2500 is the same as that $1500.

Just curios. any ideas?

It will depend on the price around October, if we assume that there will be economic split due to SegWit2x hard fork. This situation might be different from BCH fork, because SegWit2x fork has no replay protection, meaning that it will be harder to use two coins separately. SegWit2x also has much more support, especially from miners and some companies, so this split might cause a drop to $2500.
On the other hand, Bitcoin can behave very unpredictably, for example it was very stable during BCH fork, while many believe that it will drop. So, it's also possible that we might never see prices below $3000 or $3200.

I don't see why the price won't at some point fall back to such levels. Especially because of the fact that such a drop isn't all that far away. I think even sub $2000 levels shouldn't be so easily discarded as long as we haven't dealt with everything related to the hard fork in November. That's for now the only thing I can see stop Bitcoin's growth at least for a few months. If we manage to get past that event without any serious damage, I am sure that after a correction that is due, the market will keep rushing forwards. At the end of the day, it will allow people to cash out and to buy back at lower levels. Smiley

It's happened before so it could definitely happen again. If BTC ever becomes obsolete then you can expect its value to decrease and fall even more than that.
If you want to invest in BTC then never spend more than you can afford to lose.

I think price can go below $3500 soon when this bull run will be over but I don't think we will  see price below $3k anytime soon. After segwit activation debate over increasing blocksize will come to surface again and that might create another hard fork on november which might end up making 3 bitcoins in total. That can certainly create panic on the market and I am expecting huge dump on november.

Seeing current rates ($3858) where Bitcoin is trying to manage and break the 4k barrier, I don't think that dropping by $1400 in a single shot is possible unless someone comes up with their coins and announces a blood bath giving Bitcoins a sudden death for that day. Bitcoin is not a slum but a rich baby which is currently in the list of hackers as well as ransomware guys and investors too, no one wants to lose an opportunity they have got.

That would be only be a 30% drop. BTC has certainly managed that with ease in the past.

The question is do its moves retain their magnitude as the price goes higher? Maybe they will. I really thought the moves we've seen would be far more sluggish than they've  been.

If price fluctuate and bitcoin value drop and again then only we can find the profit and loss for every side. Else it would be one sider game. We need to expect the bitcoin related business and adoption more to find the price quickly bump in the chart.

Bitcoin is full of uncertainty just because of the varied features that the currency holds different than other fiat currency. This has made it grow in value to a bigger level, the increased pricing is also an reason to reach more users in a very less time. Hope the same growth continues and never lets the value fell below $2500.

It's a very real possibility. We haven't been beyond $2500 for that long. And all somoene would have to do is flood the market to make the price drop. Plenty of people or entities have enough Bitcoin to send the price down if they wanted or needed to sell. Every exchange on the planet could do this.

Just curios. any ideas?

If you actually put that in perspective, it isn't that much. We wen't from 2.8K to 1.8K in 2 days around 2 weeks back with all the segwit fud. Now we are at 3.6K and you are only suggesting a 1.1-1.2K drop which actually isn't that much.

I think that we will be experiencing a drop soon, probably not below 2.5K but I think Bitcoin will drop to below 3K. Then Bitcoin will recover and hopefully end up reaching 4K in a couple of weeks or at the end of this month.

actually i don't know but its still possible to drop below 2500. but i think many people don't want the price to drop until that price because they only expecting the price is increase high. if the price is really drop, then i think it will be the right time for us to buy bitcoin again and then we can sell it when the price is increase.

It could but I honestly doubt it. And if it does it'll probably be the very extreme of a crash and last for less than an hour.

Just depends on how high we go before another crash. If it were to crash in the next few days before it hits $4000 we could possibly see $2500 again very briefly. But if we're getting started on another bull run that's gonna last a few weeks then it might shoot up to $5000+ before we see a serious crash, in which case its very unlikely we'll ever see under $3000 again.

it could quite easily, but I think it will depend where the next ath lands, say, it get to 10 K then the floor might be at 3K.

I feel the scaling debate has held btc back for over a year and we are seeing catch up now.

As the above poster said, that would be a 30% drop, it's possible but won't happen overnight while it's quite unlikely. Right now, I don't think it's going to drop any close below $3000, at least for the following months, maybe end of the year too.
