Nobody expected the price of bitcoin to reach $19149 in  December last year.at the end of the year Bitcoin surprised the world's population.Similarly I think Bitcoin's price is likely to increase $1million by 2020.

I don't think it will be possible for bitcoins to hit 1million usd anytime soon or even in the future. Even now it is struggling with the price of 10,000 USD. There are many alternative currency available which is competing with btc and it makes it not likely to get near even 100,000 usd.

Both John McAfee (creator of the antivirus program) and James Altucher (entrepreneur, hedge fund manager and author) have made a claim that BTC will hit $1 million by the end of 2020.

That means that the market cap will be about $20 trillion or so.  If BTC is 33% of the entire market, that means the cryptocurrencies market will be a whopping $60 trillion, or 1/3 of all the money in the world.

Too crazy to happen?  What do you guys think?

It seems to me something absolutely unreal given the current market conditions, however the bitcoin has been characterized by defeating again and again all its detractors, making them bite the dust in the most humiliating way.

I have no doubt that bitcoin still has a lot of room to improve and grow, but we must take into account that now also faces a fierce fight with a lot of highly competitive altcoins that seem to be snatching more and more space in the market.

Anything can happen and no surprise if this happens. It's possible with crypto that can teach the value said.  Adaptions are happening and too many good news are in line which is the cause of price hike. The upcoming World Cup would support the crypto currencies value grow. So there are possibilities for the $1m.

Well i don't think that Bitcoin market value will ever reach such height and i think with such speculation, Bitcoin is over value by who ever believe in such speculation.
It cannot hit $1m for bitcoin market in just 2 years, many predictions goes and existing it will true once it reach. Time pass by same also with bitcoin price it is really volatile. If demand boom in crypto market I can say bitcoin price will increase but we do not know indeed when.
Two years ago when the price of bitcoin was $400 then in those days I saw some predictions on this section where people said that the price of bitcoin will reach to $2000 and to $3000, at that post many people not agreed and they said that it is not possible in life that the price of bitcoin reach to that value and now we are seeing the price at $7600. So it means that in the coming future we will also see the price of bitcoin at $1 million.

I have reading the same comments here and on many other places. When some people predicted $10000 many laughed at that, but look at
the people opinion now.
Two year is a too short period for price to jump so high! It`s probably possible if we some big Bitcoin adoption in more then one big country
and many small ones. If countries do that major and small companies will follow, to not talk about individuals that will recognize what is better
for each of them.
I think Bitcoin have a chance to hit that $1 Million! There is hope in me and I will hold as long as possible, maybe Bitcoin will make me a millionaire
one day.

Yes, but before it, there will be a lot of State opression, backed by the nocoiners, which will be the majority. Governments will do their most to take the coins from the users, since without control over money, they dont control anything.

Wences Casares predicted 1 million between 2022-2027. I think something between 2025 and 2027 is more accurate. But I have to say, that I'm fearful about it, because in this scenario, any dump from a dozen whales can bring down entire countries.

Bitcoin needs to have a wider distribution, and thats why people should not cry during these bear markets. They are a chance for new blood to jump in. But we cant have new blood with the current KYC bureaucratic model, we need decentralized exchanges, with some degree of privacy.

Since the persecution is inevitable, my guess is that the whales will awake to the need, in the future, to have a place only for bitcoiners. I read this piece of fiction here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1lfobc/i_am_a_timetraveler_from_the_future_here_to_beg/ and I find the mention of "citadels" very interesting. Whales which will become trillionaries will want to build places like that.

If the rise of high demand in Bitcoin will drive its price then it is possible to reach that price. Maybe it will happen but not in 2020, for me its unrealistic its a crazy bet for McAfee a $100,000 per Bitcoin maybe close to reaility.

I think bitcoin will hit 1 million dollars. There are many rumors stating US dollar may lose reserve status in trades. Countries started experimenting with different reserve notes.. This may pretty much reach some point where everyone starts using crypto, meaning bitcoin.
We don't say this possiblities because 1 million dollar is really big money so this is not possible in future. I think all the countries are implementing the Bitcoin Legalization in future and price also maintain in future so we don't expect the big pump in future but some standardise value is fixed in the market.

It cannot, imposible  for bitcoin to hit that super high price.
It is possible but the possibility is very low now. We've riding these high speculations and so gullible to believe that it will and after I knocked my head off, I woke up in real world that I might not able to see it or if it will I have few bitcoin on hold by that time or how I wish I still have some left.

We know bitcoin is already known worldwide and new adopters are entering the world of crypto but it doesnt mean that it will hit that price.
You have the point, there will be massive growth but hitting $1,000,000 is still questionable.
Bitcoin has the potential and strength to achieve any highest possible value and this is related and linked with a factor called demand factor which controls the price of Bitcoin. This demand factor is controlling by the people living in this world some know about the coin and some do not know about it. The Bitcoin will hit any highest possible value if we the people show any good reaction.

I think that $1 million is way too much for bitcoin in 2020. It is possible to hit that number but 2020 is just too soon.
There are still quite a lot of panic sellers believing in FUD-causing speculations which contributes mainly to the dip of the value.
Though I don't know, bitcoin is really unpredictable.
Bitcoin is unpredictable indeed so we do not know how much bitcoin will hit by year 2020. But some already said bitcoin price can hit the high price this year 2018. The actual price is we do not know yet since it is unstable. Maybe it is not possible to hit $1m so we should be observe then.

Like you said, too crazy to happen. It's ambitious and actions like these make it hard for people to understand the true value of cryptocurrencies or blockchain technologies, as they limit it to only monetary functions.

Do not rely on predictions like that they are just trying to bring attention to themselves by claiming those numbers and in the case of Mcafee claiming that he will eat his dick if that does not happen, look for more serious people when it comes to predictions and even better try to create your own predictions even if you fail that is the only way to improve your ability to predict the direction and the size of the movements of the market.

This has been topic for some time now, bitcoin will ever hit $1 million? well we can argue that it is unpredictable and it may happen but this feat to happen requires tons of newbies not excluding those type of people who want to become rich overnight just because they are hype by something or their friends thus creating huge fluctuations of decreases due to these people who don't reach their expectations, it's gotta be a swing of prices back and forth never touch that prediction.

No, there's not chance the price of the bitcoin hit $1 million by the year of 2020 because the price is unstable and maybe we see only $1 the price on that year or it will become zero.
But I hope bitcoin will still alive in the year 2020 so we can make more profit.

Bitcoin will be still alive in 2020. I have no doubt about it. Only price is unknown. Predicting what will be in two years in the case of cryptocurrencies is pointless. However, $1 million seems to be a highly overestimated value.

There seems no such favorable situations for bitcoin to reach such a price. Its already struggling to cross the 10,000 dollar mark due to continuous FUD.Bitcoin holders now would not be dreaming about such price and they would be happy even if it crosses the 10,000 dollar price.
Well it seems $1 million worth per bitcoin is still questionable due to FUD but we should accept the truth that there's a possibility even if it is a low chance. Cryptoworld is still full of surprise since it is unpredictable so who know? Maybe someday we woke up that bitcoin is now tremendous. Anyway, all of that is just speculation and all we can do now is to believe upon it.

It is certainly not going to reach dollar 1 million this year or in the coming couple of years. But there are maximum chances for it to be at this price by the end of coming score. This is indeed very high price but nothing is impossible for bitcoin with the maximum support from people. When the demand of bitcoin will increase in the market, the prices are going to skyrocket automatically. So I think bitcoin can touch it.

Certain speculation is hard to believe and how could the bitcoins reach that? given price are to much! but if adoption came well all people will support the beauty of bitcoins  then we might gonna see for the bits to come at $1 million mark. But I don't know if we are still existing in earth if bitcoins reach that since if that time comes it will take more decades first since spread out about the crypto's will not happen on quick blink adoption takes more months before it happens.

yeah it is possible.but when it possible. Mcfee a big man what did he think spoke not know about bitcoin. What ever bitcoin will reach $1m I'm very happy. It's impossible in 2020.

Mcafee is a a huge manipulator on crypto world he want to exercise our minds for that event so that he can gain more benefits from it.

If that will happen, many people will be glad and so happy. Many people will be a great supplier that will flow on our society. It sounds good if many of us will have their big profit and income.
Looking upon the growth it has attained over the years, it is clear that anything could happen with the price in no time. Within an year's time the price peaked and reached from around $1000 to $2000. The growth is completely dependent on the increasing adoption, more the people, more will be the growth. Last year a massive adoption took place, hope to see adoption in the ongoing as well upcoming years to support the growth.

Yes, and no.
Bitcoin is gaing more and more popularity these days and with popularity the price grows, as well as utilities it is used for with involves much more transactions and thus much bigger fees. The blockchain will run through many forks by then, but the current state of bitcoin can't survive that much of money being thrown only into fees. Also the electricity it takes to mine will be growing by time, leading it to a series of legislations limiting the mining processes as well as forbidding them in some countries. The current PoW system may be working right now, but is surely not the state of future solution.

If this is ever to happen, BTC will be far more than 33% for sure. If one coin reaches that level, there will not be room for more than a few other coins of significant value.

I dont see it hit 1 million 2020, but if it can survive maybe in the future.

My guess  is 40k 2018, 100k 2019 and 250k 2020.

By speculation, bitcoin is expected to reach $100k by end of 2018 and $1m in 2020 which is just about two years ahead. Projects around around it will make it work. It is expected that the major country exchanges and currencies will exchange with bitcoin. It is better to get into the train and make life convenient for yourself while it last because countries are also getting involved.

It's absolutely going to $1 million

When the super coin rolls out with all the top companies taking it, BTC falls to it's original 5 cent per coin value.

20 million 5 cent coins

1 million market cap

That's the only 1 million it will hit

Lol

all possibilities are possible because everyone is interested in Bitcoin, let alone only 21 million Bitcoins are made,
More and more people need Bitcoin and just a little leftover, it can happen but I'm not sure for a short time. Bitcoin will reach $ 1 million in 3 years.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but I have severe doubts that Bitcoin will ever come even close to a million dollars. I personally don't see anything that supports that price level. If anyone has any articles or research they have done, I would like to see if I could potentially be wrong. It would be incredible, but I'm a realist and that seems like a pipe dream.
You are trying to play safe by sitting on the fence here. But I tell you something, it is highly impossible for Bitcoin to get to that $1million price level. With are these issues around its scaling, tx fees and inability to hide transaction details, bitcoin may not even get to $50k level.

By 2020? There's no way.

At 1,000,000, it would have a market cap, assuming continuous mining, of probably around $19 trillion, putting it on par with, or perhaps slightly ahead of, the intrinsic value of all gold ounces on this planet.  The only way to achieve this would be the rapid and mass adoption of BTC worldwide.  I don't see what could drive such an event in the next 2 years.

Bitcoin will reach 1m dollar is very impossible because there are a lot of new altcoins today that are also competing in the market to increase their value. There are so much altcoins being produced by ico's and investors has a variety to choose.

I consider this statement a little utopian. Bitcoin may well reach $ 1 million, but definitely not for 2 years. If you take a longer term - for example, 5-8 years, this figure already seems more real.

never dream of Bitcoin's $ 1 million, Bitcoin price at $ 100000 the financial police (FPC, FDIC, NFA and Other) will be panic  Cool

Totally agree with you. Even at 20k, countries/government r talking about ban, control etc. can possibly see it beyond 100k without a fuss from various parties.

Cryptocurrency Pioneer  Casares said, "Bitcoin and blockchain have captured people’s attention because they view it as an “interesting experiment  and If it works out, it could change the world more than the internet changed it,”  then 1 BTC will be worth $ 1 Million.

I find it very difficult, I see today bitcoin is still difficult to get up. and it will take a long time to recover. whereas currently bitcoin is just a bit. but probably because the volume and spreading have not increased, so bitcoin is still below.
but we'll see from mid 2018 until the end of 2018, because many people speculate that bitcoin will reach $ 50000 by the end of 2018. and if it happens, then in the next year will reach $ 1M.

If it hits that wonder what the transaction fees would be lol
I shudder to think about what fees we would be paying by then, but if the value is relative to the fees then the fees should have gone down by now but it still the same though it is slightly lower than previously but still nonetheless high in my opinion.

Maybe this an informative game from McAfee and Altucher. In order to influence public opinion, as well to believe that Bitcoin will hit 1 Million Dollars  after 2 years. Also it is expected that their objective is to fame this currency , with a view to effect  on many users to buy a large amount of Bitcoin. Because these two businessmen are  invested a large proportion of their money in Bitcoin ( If that happens, the price will rise and their profits will be huge).

Nothing is impossible in this world of cryptocurrency, moreover with a decentralized system so that all prices will depend on the users or supply and demand. If come many users and they interested to invest in this bitcoin this situation will make the bitcoin price will be higher. And if all the countries in the world accept bitcoin as payment I always wait for that.

Keep in mind, a few days ago one of the biggest companies in the world that's Microsoft announced that they do not use bitcoin as a transaction tool because with the reason slow transaction process and high transaction fee so they do not use it anymore. Thus the bitcoin price decreases, at all time I believe bitcoin price will reach a higher price, but we should note, can the bitcoin system satisfy its users?

You know how far $1 Million still is? I think this is just a baseless claim. For a market of 20 Trillion dollar we need almost every person of the planet to come and invest atleast $2857 into bitcoin on an average. Do you really think we will be able to achieve such a per capita average this soon?? I don't really think of such an imaginable scenario. Once everyone will enter bitcoin it will just stabilize somewhere. $1 Million is big dream.

I don't know.  He did say he would eat his sick if he was wrong lol

That's such a bullsh*t way of trying to make believe their words.
For Bitcoins to reach that level, it should either be started being taken as an asset and not a currency, because it will never achieve the occupation of a currency because of its liquidity. Value of Bitcoins will now depend on the intervention of Governments and how people react to it, which is why no new investors are getting into it the way they were doing it before. The developers really need to come up with something that could scale Bitcoins, until which it will not rise in the style we want it to be.

man this is some big news you have here. although it may seam a bit impossible looking at the price now, i think it can really happen when we look at the last trend of bitcoin december last year. that is, if it so should happen that it would follow the last year's trend.

bottom line is, no one can really tell for sure what will happen to the crypto world the next day or beyond that. anyone's predictions may only be as good anybody else's guess. anyone telling you that they are sure is either delusional or lying to you.

by the way, great way to advertise your telegram channel. lol.

Two years from now? Could you imagine the schizophrenic seizure the blockchain and current system of mining farms would have with that level of transactions happening every day? LOL

Think about it logically, bitcoin couldn’t keep up with a $20k value which caused more than a 200k transaction backlog in the mempool. At that rate bitcoin was making roughly 5 transactions a second. At a $1mil price, all other things equal, that would be a 50 fold increase in the number of transactions. That’s 250 transactions a second with 10 million transactions stuck in the mempool regardless of the fee. ROFL

stop dreadming like that man, even rightnow, bitcoin is still having a very hard time to reach 20000$ much less 1 million, from now to 2020, bitcoin will only reach 50000$ is top, i don't think reach higher is impossible but face the fact that bitcoin will take a very long time  to reach 1 million, while bitcoin is still very fluctuative around 11000$ rightnow.

No, I don't think it can ever go so high. I mean it can but it would be pretty hard and might take forever to reach there. It might keep on increasing till like 100k$, but even that would take alot of time. Also, after the drop which happened recently, alot of people would have suffered from loss(the panic sellers of course), and I don't think most of these people would invest again, so the number of people investing would be less. So, I don't think bitcoin might ever reach 1M USD.

1 satoshi will be equivalent to 1 cent, so probably it won't hit $1M. I can't imagine paying 200-300$ fee for 10$ worth transaction.
I don't think anyone can. Too high price will make bitcoin useless.
Imagine someone wants to buy bitcoins equivalent to 200$ - and can't send it because fees will eat all balance.
I think everyone has forgotten what dust is.

There are reasons to believe that bitcoin would reach that price if it would succeed in it's goal to become a currency used by people worldwide to buy and sell stuff. Also let's not forget that there is a halve happening in 2020, so bitcoin will become even more valuable by then. I'm not so sure about the entire crypto market going to "$60 trillion, or 1/3 of all the money in the world". As bitcoin gets more stable, and gets a real use case, the hype around crypto will also decline, and a lot of bubble coins will disappear. We have thousands of coins and tokens, but I would say that we will end up getting a very small amount of them being functional. I think that if bitcoin manages to become the "universal coin", it's dominance won't be just 33%.

Yes it could be possible. BUT every higher demand of money there will be a great exchange too. It may cause a higher transaction fees if have a chance. There will be advantage and disadvantage in every aspect.

Higher transaction fees from a higher bitcoin price boggles me. If the price of bitcoin is to double from today, shouldn't the fees be proportional and cut themselves in half? The miners would be profiting more with the higher price, and the users of the network would not be backed up against a cliff when they want to send $10 worth of btc for a $10 fee.

I had a transaction with 25 sats per byte that took over five weeks to confirm. Five! If the entire network as a whole lowered their fees, miners would have no other choice to accept them. Right now, the fees are okay, because btc is in the middle of a price correction.

Well, you said it. It is a claim. No one could have thought bitcoin would hit this point we are calling a dip some years back, so, I believe anything can happen with the value of bitcoin in the long run but from where we are presently, it looks pretty impossible.
Also, McAfee has always been known to be bullish on cryptocurrencies, even shit coins as well, so I am not surprised him saying something like that. You should check his twitter page.

That was a typical Publicity stunt for Jhon McAfee ,ever since he mentioned that bitcoin will be worth 1m$ ,the video went viral and McAfee started mareting ICO's and other coins while getting paid . So yeah it's fair to say that his words were utter bullshit and based on nothing but a delusion to grab people's attention.
I'm not saying bitcoin do not have that potential but if it ever going to happen it's so far away and by that time the price of the USD would be worth less becaus of the inflation.
