i dont think so. There are still so many people don't know about bitcoin, in the other hand, many people know what paypal is.

That's certainly true. It's quite rather disappointing that many people are still unaware of Bitcoin or don't even know how to use it. Since Bitcoin requires a level of knowledge in the tech area to use it, this limits people who're non-tech savvy to get started with it right away. On the other hand, PayPal is easier to use than Bitcoin and there's no such thing as slow transactions, and extremely high fees.

Nevertheless, it is only a matter of time before Bitcoin improves enough for use in the mainstream world. The ever-rising demand, and upcoming improvements, are just signs that the cryptocurrency will become a stronger payments system in the future. Once it becomes capable of handling micro-transactions, then it will be one step closer to overcoming PayPal. Just my thoughts Grin

I voted no

Paypal is a payment system not a currency they are 2 totaly different things, and besides that  Bitcoin has way to many problems doing transactions as it is and the fees are stupidly high.

I think that paypal will soon implement in their software to have a capability of holding bitcoins since earning bitcoins today is very popular in different wallet and if paypal will implement that function then i think it will be a huge advantage for everyone because it will be more secured.

I see Bitcoin reaching the volume of PayPal, but I don't see it overcoming PayPal. Entirely based on PayPal's buyer and seller protections. Unless a company steps in as a middle man to offer similar protections I don't see Bitcoin overcoming PayPal.

First of all bitcoin is a currency and Paypal's not so we can not compare them that way but yes if you are comparing them in their mode of transaction then on current situation paypal is much bigger thing then bitcoin but with this speed of growth, may be there come a day when bitcoin will overcome paypal.

once adopted by the governments and is accepted worldwide, then Bitcoin will not only overcome but also replace pay pal, as long as none of the Bitcoin policies are replaced or modified. especially the safety and privacy policies. PayPal isn't a bad platform , just that Bitcoin will come ,with another level of efficiency and speed.
Although there are many cryptocurrencies can provide better service to transfer money.
But the fact, the number of users using Paypal did not decrease too much.
Just panic user and new user give up this service.

I'm afraid not. Though BTC is new and famous in the crypto-currencies, it still has gap between the virtual world and real world. Paypal is used for shopping everywhere. If you ask someone, they would mention this while BTC is an investment instead of a currency from point of view. Though it has many pros to beat Paypal, it still has a long wat to go.

In the future can be bitcoin get rid of PayPal just like Google get rid of Yahoo. But there needs to be further development on bitcoin to give better Feature of the other crypto, if Bitcoin is not currently repaired then most likely can not get rid of PayPal.
Although bitcoin do not have any competition with payapl, because paypal is not a currency but only a medium transaction, while bitcoin is a currency just like other fiat currency which we can use for shopping in shorts, in fact it do not require any medium and conversion but it can directly be use for shopping in any country of the world, in this sense i think that bitcoin is really going to overcome paypal, because people will surely like to use bitcoin for shopping online instead of paypal.

We can't predit but this is kinda impossible paypal offers charge back, but bitcoin is used by most of hackers and darkweb. That's why  both have their users.
Bitcoin is used primarily by hackers and dark web? Because of this conviction is so widespread among non-bitcoin users we can't rich higher levels of adoption.
I can tell you that ability for users to initiate chargeback and open a PayPal dispute is overused and something needs to be done with it.
Did you know that merchant who is using PayPal as a payment method in his shop needs to pay money to PP everytime someone starts a dispute?

Well, dispute is a double-edged sword for retailer and Paypal. Everytime, the retailer always have risk to meet this issue when someone take this function to get refund. Althought some cases did not refund for whom created dispute, but it took much times of retailers for those disputes.

I don't think so. Bitcoin was very famous but they can't beat paypal yet. Paypal is being used for money transfer and sometimes it is being used for shopping. Those are two things that bitcoin can't do yet. They can but its not that convenient compared to paypal. What other people doesn't know is that paypal is being used for salary. My company was using it since they started and I don't think btc can do that. Maybe in 5 years btc will be able to do that. Let's wait and see.

It seems to me bitcoin is competing with fiat money.

On another note, check out the ICO for RLCoin, an enterprise solution for loyalty: www.rlcoin.io.  The product has traction with 250 clients and partners in Europe and Asia.

As time passes by, I believe the number of users who will use Paypal for sending and receiving money will decrease gradually, Bitcoin is obviously the better option to use for sending and receiving payment online as the transaction fees is much more cheaper than Paypal.

The bitcoin community is still small so for now bitcoin doesn't have enough chances to overcome PayPal

BTC still has a long way to go if we are talking payment methods. The main problem right now is the confirmations that take too long. So it cannot be used as a better payment method over paypal. As an asset, is a different story, It's pretty sure that will overcome gold real soon, because is easier to save and easier to exchange.
We should fix the confirmation time of bitcoin and also improve its network so the overall time of payment will not be that long so the people will not be going to wait for a very long time just to get a confirmation so their transaction can be complete in just a very short time which is the best thing to expect for a mode of payment.
Bitcoin should learn the Ethereum and Ripple technology. Ethereum and Ripple really have good technology to get confirm fastly with cheap fees. Not like Bitcoin, it takes so much money for a transaction with long time to get confirmation. 6 confirmations with few hours (can take up to 72 hours) for a safe transaction, do you think it is better than Ethereum and Ripple with few minutes Smiley?
