I don't see bitcoin dropping below $200 in the short term. Long term $10,000+
Long term for me is a decade+, in a decade we'll be past 10K, but short term anything is possible in terms of low, this thing is still 0.10 in terms of official development for god's sake, just be happy you are even aware this soon.

we will see more of the sidewards trend, mostly in $200-300 channel. I don't think we should go much outside of that channel. So if you call a big drop going down from $290 to $200 then yes.

No. I dont think it will drop anymore. As it did at the end of the last year, the market will hold steady for most of the year. It might fluctuate again in the end of the year.

I doubt.

Fundamentals are good and we are rising even on weekend

It does seem to look like the end of the long drop
I'm wondering if there is one more downward trend or if we can expect to see upward movements back into the 500 to 600 range in the short run
Worth speculating

Hero members saying we could go to 0. How crazy is that? I think every prediction like that should be clarified by what are the odds of BTC reaching 0$.

Some speculate that even at current prices BTC is hugely overvalued. Quoting SilkRoad/Mtgox as the only reason for the explosion. Then those same pple quote the S curve showing the 1200$ peak as the peak of BTC adoption. Those two arguments dont go well together.

Others feel its hugely undervalued and oversold, seeing strong signals for a 2015/2016 strong rally.
https://twitter.com/chamath/status/557595490192089088 - this guy makes a good point.

For me the question comes down to this - are more people going to use bitcoin technology in the future or not? Since supply is limited and predictable (well, that is unless Satoshi shows up and starts selling) the use cases and adoption are obviously the driving factor. Many here see adoption as failed, security as being clumsy and ease of use as nutty. Personally I feel all of this will improve dramatically in the next 3-4years. Many uncovered use cases will emerge, many other innovations will be made possible on top this breakthrough technology. Security and ease of use will be superior to any other 'traditional' alternative we are currently using.
Now I am just newbie account on a troll forum, but it seems a lot of deep pocket VCs agree with this sentiment.

well, the answer is no, the price is rising slowly, no sigh of any dump for now, i think they want it to rise, manipulation is really strong here

No.

170 was not the bottom, we had a 156-or so down peak at that has been the bottom for now, so we dont know if what we are saying is a small dead cat bounce or a legitimate recapitulation on an up and coming up trend.

I think it will drop, but not so soon
Maybe in March there will be another dump Roll Eyes

I think the opposite. I don't think we will see a dump coming, but rather the price would remaing stable for a while.
This is because of all the good news coming in, people are also aware that it might actually go up soon.

bitcoin going to see 150/120/85, we need that por new massive buy and rally to high levels

I'm thinking it could go lower too. A few more giant dumps could really hammer the price down. There's not that much support left.

For now we are cruising pretty low
It might drop a bit lower but at roughly 70 to 80% down from ATH we are hanging out in a low price range
Although one could argue that we are near the top of the 90 to 250 rally range from a few years ago so how much is foundation based support becomes a question.

Prices determined by mood whales, by mood hacker and ponzi site owner.  Smiley

I don't think ponzi site owners at a time would have more than 1000 BTC to dump and bring the price to a very low level.
I see this as a big problem. But doing that if this happens, patience.

we are stable now, like 300-400 zone, it will remain there for a bit

the price is already bad we i don't need another drop

fixed it for you

After all the bloodbath we've seen last days there is no certain stop before 2013 levels, around 120. But many [....]
200$. The hype is blown off too. And when the dust settles all that's left are some bitter bagholders looking for someone or something to blame it on.

+1

I agree, to be honest I would like the price to drop, not so much that it destroys the game. The drop in price will kick out the large mining farms that have raised the difficulty to an unfathomable height, allowing the general public a chance. Large mining farms are not good for Bitcoin, all they do is create a form of centralisation capable of manipulating the Blockchain.

Second, once the price does drop, as it’s only a matter of time, coins can be bought by everyone from all varying levels of financial background.

It’s like Bitcoin is self-sterilising itself, whining out all the greedy coin dumping bastards.

If I am honest, I can see this cycle happing over and over, extreme highs followed by extreme lows.

Why should it not go lower than 2013 prices? Back then coins were hoarded and bought. These days nobody hoards them and everyone shorting it and there are more coins than there were in 2013 - i could see it dip below 2013 prices tbh.

Bearmarket is as active and running as before the crash. Market did not change a single bit with the drop. Low demand and bad properties in value store makes me think we are still way too high. Bulls won't win the bottom at 200$. The hype is blown off too. And when the dust settles all that's left are some bitter bagholders looking for someone or something to blame it on.

I don't thinks so. I think the worst is over. It will remain steady though for a while. Hopefully it gains some speed in the mid year.

Many people have tried to predict the bottom and failed.

could drop to zero  Smiley

Yes of course , it can drop to zero... and when it will drop to 1 $ I will buy "more" (that's sure).

Hmm I remember the times above 1000$, where bulls told everyone that they would buy a crazy if the price would be again 700$. After the price droped, only a few bought coins, the rest of them just waited for cheaper coins.

The same happens now. No real buying pressure. It looks like 200$ is not particularly cheap...

At this point the whales are just playing and teasing with a few large buys and dumps from time to time.

The thing is..... That we don't know if curren't price is high or low.

I think 99% of the people never expected Bitcoin to go below $200 ever again. But it did.

It looks stable and oversold. But let's see what the next months will bring.
