I guess its very possible before the year end that btc price will be 2k. I don't have much Bitcoin on my stash but I'm on my way to gathering a lot of BTC by simply buying and selling. Its just not possible to acquire more for us if it continuously goes up without knowing the reason. For those who sold their btc at the price like 1070+ which they though its the peak already got burned already. They are probably buying resulting the price to skyrocket. I was tempted to sell mine on yobit earlier but it goes up more. Cheesy

Halving is years to come. We can wait but while waiting do yourself a favor, gather more.

the situation you are describing means bitcoin price will go to $20,000 not $2000!
the $2000 price is perfectly within reach of us in a couple of months, till the end of the year. and if there are the usual slow down obstacles as before we can see that price in early 2018. and that is less than 2x
but mass adoption will push price to 10x at least.

At this point there are 2 important things to look forward to. 1 - Next mont the possible approval of the Winklevoss brothers ETF. 2 - Albeit a low chance of happening, support for segwit reaching it's required support percentage. But we first have to reach the required support percentage to have Litecoin function as test base for segwit. But instead of only looking at the potential benefits, we should not underestimate the negative impact on the market when things don't go to plan.

I can't even see the price reach such levels this year with the ETF being approved. At this point there are still too many negative factors that might get the price to plummet heavily this year. China is one of them with the PBOC not being done with implementing regulations. Then we have the never ending block size debate which is more and more splitting the community into different sides/groups. Without an increased block size I doubt the price will ever reach $3000.

For many speculators this is more a question of when. I understand such optimism, since Bitcoin is something unique, which has worked very efficiently for most users. But I think at the moment what is important is that Bitcoin is able to consolidate at current levels, without sharp drops as we have seen different times since the beginning of the year.

When btc reach $1500, I can consider the hypothesis of bitcoin reaching $2000 for now I prefer not to dream much.

Yes indeed many predict bitcoin prices reach $ 2,000 this year and I am sure it will happen. But it will require a long journey because bitcoin fluctuations still occur so that the price can be kept stable and may even go down. Target end of the year will reach $ 2,000 I think it was the right and will certainly be going to see the development bitcoin now. The value of bitcoin is being decided by traders rather than actual demand. I mean to say, traders represent the demand of bitcoins in trading platform and hence deciding the prices of bitcoins. Similarly being optimistic and speculating the future prices will have impact on traders and investors in physiological levels.

In other words, the speculations are real trigger for hype which will do the rest of job.

That's true every post is really optimistic and all I can say is, even if we can't guess the price at least we knew the possible outcome when there were signs of price increase with a successive movement. If good these good track records of bitcoin from several months passed by will remain to climb up high, then it's probably be hitting to 2000$.

I remember when bitcoin first reached $1000 - it was madness, everyone was crying with joy back then. But now $1000 is not longer that exiting news, soon it will be standard floor price.
So yes, our next goal is new ATH, and when than happens $2000 won't be longer a dream. It is not a question "whether" bitcoin will reach $2000 but rather when than will happen.

We have no idea who is spamming the network with dust transactions, without serious proof it could be anybody.Maybe even some altcoin lovers trying to discredit bitcoin capabilities.
At this point I would rather have SegWit activated and upgraded bitcoin than waste time watching developers and community argue about scaling. Without solving this issue $2000 will never come.

i don't really think that the current issue about scalation can prevent bitcoin to grow in value, to at least 2k or even 10k, you just need few rich investors to rich that amount

surely worldwide adoption is not needed for a mere $2k in value, with worldwide adoption the value would be crazy high like 100k if not more

Anyone can easily predict that the bitcoin price will increase to almost 2000$ by the end of this year. The price reached to 1000$ in the previous year so it is easy to think like this. But as the bitcoin works is not controlled under a center bank or something like that so anything can happen anytime. I will not be surprised if the price falls in a huge amount. We all want that to happen. But we must be realistic here, 2000 is still to high to reach with a very short period of time.

There are a lot good things that is about to happen with bitcoin this year. But recent events, like too many unconfirmed transactions and too long confirmation time is putting doubt in my mind. I would be happy if we reach a new ATH and be able maintain it that way.

If you can believe what the main stream media says about bitcoin then the price would rally over $2000 but when and how that will happen is a big question as we have to see a stable price above $1000 for some time and if the price would sustain that value then we would see a growth from that untill it finds the next resistance value.

I think there is a possibility but it will be convincing if we talk about Bitcoin reaching $1500. Since the situation of Bitcoin atm is not that much. Activation of Segwit had been failing since lots of miners are still undecided about this issue. I cannot see anymore updates that will push Bitcoin price upward unless Segwit is implemented or alternative development towards Bitcoin Scalability.

ofcourse there is a risk for everything, if you buy a lot of btc and there comes an issue that will bring lots of bitcoin users to sell their coins and cause a panic selling to others, bitcoin price will drop and your "investment" will drop too but if you can hold it until the said issue is gone you might get good profit out of it.
