Bitcoin is not completely belong to US, there are some people are buying and selling the bitcoin, US Government is not controlling the bitcoin may if supports means definitely there is an increase in price, but bitcoin is tradable coin so it completely depend on people all parts of world who are using it. But coming to my speculation if trump really supports bitcoin, it is going to be a big bump for bitcoin community.

I don't think he is ever going to support Bitcoin because that would basically mean that he refuses to support the official currency of the US, the dollar. In my view, many Americans might think of this as some kind of high treason. So it is hardly possible that Trump would show his open support for Bitcoin even if he was in fact quite friendly toward this coin. Though I'm not sure if he ever heard about Bitcoin.

Trump has this America first motto.
Most of the mining farms are not in America, but in China.
For the moment bitcoin is too small for him to think about it. He has bigger fishes to fry. That's why I don't think his election will have any impact on bitcoin the next two years.
But if bitcoin would really start an enormous rise during his presidency, he would take counter measures.
Maybe regulate the american bitcoin market, maybe built subsidized mining farms in America, maybe declare bitcoin to be illegal. Who knows...

I do not know, what people can expect from trump about bitcoin. Personally i will not think and expect he can anything to btc. If price increases its all because of adoption, demand and supply.
We have sudden market shifts because of political events and decisions - for example Brexit earlier this year.
Trump election is one of this events - it seems totally indirect way to influence Bitcoin but the waves are here.

There is a big problem with the OP picture, bitcoin has always been great, so theres not need to make bitcoin great again at all that is why bitcoin will keep growing and to become even stronger.

The Trump's presendicy will crash the US dollar. So the bitcoin price in terms of the US dollar will rise a lot.
so true . impact trump became the current president is an increase in the price of bitcoin. perhaps this is a positive value, many who once thought that trump will create chaos in the world financial system.

And how come trump can contribute the price growth of bitcoins? Do you have any articles where saying that trump has adopted bitcoin in his country? Well if yes can you share it here so i can read it, but totally i dont believe that he can give huge contribution to this not unless if he file a law that legalized the bitcoins to be used as currency in the US, But for now truly believe that its all a fud and i can't see realistic thoughs on that.

Trump hasn't yet become a President of the US, he is still only a President-elect, so we should have patience for the next two weeks, in the very least. That said, he may not have to contribute to Bitcoin in a direct way to make its price rise or fall. His economic and foreign policies will affect Bitcoin in higher degree than his open support or aversion toward Bitcoin.

Trump being the president of US doesn't make big impact. In my view each and every country have dependence. So his thoughts upon foreign policies won't be working as planned, somehow loop holes will be created. Price variation happens during the starting days of his governing, which will soon stabilize within weeks.

Well, bitcoin is constantly growing this days. maybe that is cause of Trump or maybe just the demand to bitcoin grown. Only experts can say you directly the reasons.

i don't think the price will reach to $1000 after he got elected and as many people know that his current policy only how to make America great again and before Trump elected he has promise to many entrepreneurs at there that he would be the saviour for them because the negative impact from free trade is there are many factories went bankrupt in US so in my opinion for the time being he won't focus for cryptocurrency because his main priority is only for America now and how to solved many problem at there

Trump had made numerous teams to make US better than ever. After he gets sworn as the president by the upcoming year start lot changes can be felt over the entire world because US has connection with every country directly or indirectly. Price recently decreased and now once again small variations were taking place.

I think bitcoin has already shot up in price over the last year - so you've got to be happy with the price increase already. Trump said alot of divisive things to get elected and he has already gone back on some of the policies that he ran his campaign on. He may have had the loudest voice, but I don't think he's going to change very much at all.

I dont think it will affect it either way.  Mass adoption will be the main driver, things like elctions that cause a price rise is not sustainable.  If you are talking pumps/dumps, etc maybe but im more concerned with long term growth which doesnt have anything to do with mass adoption/growth.  My 2 satoshis

Elections themselves as well as their immediate outcome may have little-to-no effect on Bitcoin price, but the economic policies of a new government will obviously have a grave impact on the economy for the simple reason that such policies specifically aim to change the economic environment in the country. And this may already directly hit Bitcoin adoption by the masses.

Since the Trump has become president of U.S the dollar value has been dropped a little bit and I think that traders are afraid that the dollar value/stock will drop more.

I hope that with Trump as president the crypto world will be more expandable and people will know what bitcoin is when they see the bitcoin logo.

About the price, we should hope that it will grow gradually and not pumping like the list time at 1.2k and then dump immediately.

I don't expect that price of bitcoin rises to 1000$ only because Trump election, it will depend on its decisions on international commerce, and monetary decisions that could affect the $ and other currencies, we will need to wait some months before to see witch effect has on bitcoin price.

Despite the fact that Obama did not support bitcoin, it still thrived. Which goes to show that presidents don't have that strong an impact on crypto.

He may not have supported Bitcoin, but at least he wasn't meddling with it either. Let's be honest, this doesn't tell us anything about what his actions might have been and what impact they might have had if he had been openly hostile toward it.

It's days like this when I wish the ocean was warm enough to swim to Mexico.  Or Granada.  We got a little bitcoin pump, probably due to THE KNUCKLEHEAD winning, but I doubt it's sustainable.  The stock market got a big pop, too, but traders don't have any clue what's coming.  It's gonna be Nazi Germany circa 1940 all over again.  Fuck Trump.

Trump is the opposite of Hitler. Their outward similarity of being showmen has nothing to do with their inner workings. Hitler was a fanatic of a rare kind, Trump is a rascal and swindler without doubt, which unmistakably shows through, but he is in no case a zealot or committed extremist.

also i want to add that we are already on the way up to $1000 price and all these things like Trump, Brexit and other political stuff are only helping the rise to get there with a smooth transaction.

Stock markets are actually doing much better than predicted, so I don't think there will be a huge influx of dollars into Bitcoin.

The original movement into bitcoin happened because of events in Europe (Cyprus in 2013) and events in Europe remain the best hope for bitcoiners. The United States is too diverse and hence too self-regulating and stable to be a source of demand for bitcoin, no matter who is president.

If the stock market stays stable and Trump is actually able to reduce the national debt, the dollar could actually become stronger.

People will only shift to bitcoin if they are afraid. But there is nothing much to be afraid of in the United States. The transition is going smoothly because both sides are determined it will be smooth. There is no challenge to the result, there is no instability. No-one will be seizing people's savings and it is likely that interest rates will rise.

All point to a rising dollar.

The pump was so weak when he won the elections, Trump hype is over. Nor gold, nor bitcoin have reached to the moon because of Trump and it will never happen. Bitcoin only rose 20$ when Trump took the lead in the numbers. Gold rose only 50$. I believe it will reach 1000$ one day but it won't happen because of Trump.

it can only if Trump goes ahead and publicly and positively starts supporting bitcoin! then yeah you can say because he was elected president bitcoin price will go to $1000

but which politician or government you know who supports bitcoin and gives up on their own fiat?

None would ever do that, only those who who have a much broader view of bitcoin and all the technological innovation it's brought along. Seems like the Chinese have a much progressive take on bitcoin.

Yeah, we cannot expect that much from trump or the us government. We should watch more on how the chinese government will take bitcoin. They will have more positive effect to bitcoin.

That is right. There will be no fundamental changes in the US. There will be no tax cut as the cost is too high.

Both bitcoin and gold rose after his election - and then both sort of subsided.

He won't get inaugurated till January 20th for a start, and that is more than two months away. After that, it depends entirely on the strength of the dollar. If the dollar is strong, bitcoin will rise, if it weakens it will fall.

If they do, bitcoin's price will stall against the dollar. If they hold off, bitcoin might rise.

Nothing will really change now when Trump become the president.
Cryptocurrency is the least of his worries. So if you expecting some kind of regulation or official statement you will be disappointed.
Latest minor Bitcoin's price spike was caused by slight panic on the stock exchanges due to Trump's victory but this is only temporary.

I'm sure he has at best a very vague understanding of what bitcoin is, so it's definitely at the bottom of his priorities. He's got other way more urgent matters to take care for the time being and in the foreseeable future. I would be surprised if his office releases any coherent statement re tech in general by the end of the year.

Trump being President may/may not affect the price of Bitcoin. I think time can only tell. Maybe, if Trump goes out in the open and supports BTC in a large scale, it might grow to $800-$850 fast. $1000 might be very difficult. It all depends on the fact of whether he knows about BTC or not and whether he will support BTC or not.

Implementing protectionist regulations basically means that the US is going to shut itself out from the Chinese exports, the thing that Trump had been constantly reiterating during his presidential campaign. If he lives up to his promises, that would mean that the Chinese government will have to find new markets for their manufactures by making their goods more competitive. Devaluing national currency is one of the ways of doing exactly that, and exactly that they have been doing for the last couple of years. But it will also lead to a greater demand for Bitcoin from the Chinese public with Bitcoin prices evidently going up.

Sounds like whatever he does to follow through on what he said during the campaign will be a boon for bitcoin. That is, if he does anything  Wink

this election may have a good ending and a lot of good and positive hype for bitcoin and its price but in the end the $1000 mark is a big target and it wouldn't be easy just to get there because of a simple election that may or may not be positive for bitcoin.

besides don't forget that many people think of $1000 as a point where they should dump!!!

I remember people saying that everyone was going to dump their coins right after the halving. But the price topped a few weeks before the halving. So I think that a lot of people will start selling bitcoins before the price even touches $1,000. But if the bullish sentiment is high the price may shoot right through that resistance level.

Well, the election may has good impact to bitcoin if Trump really support bitcoin and regulation also rearrangement to help widely spread of bitcoin in entire states but it could takes a long time to do. We can't just hope that happen as we know bitcoin is decentralized and government can't do many things to interfere bitcoin price to rise $1000. With or Without Trump victory Bitcoin will hit $1000, though Trump victory could accelerate it, this all depends on him implementing those policies that could catalyse this rise

That is true bitcoin is more stronger and will remain like without any politics. That is why I'm also agreed this will cross $1000 very soon. Maybe before end of this year.

This has nothing to do with Bitcoin price. There will be effects on US dollar but not Bitcoin. And Trump himself will do nothing about the Bitcoin itself.
Since Bitcoin is decentralized and independent from governments politics just don't have that big impact on it. So, the current price has nothing to do with elections.

It seems like a lot of people are terrified that he's the president so yes I'd assume people will be looking to get their portfolio out of USD.

Just no. If the price happens to go to that level (at whatever time frame), then it will more or less be for the exact same reason as the price has always gone up.

It's a combination of hype, speculation, good sentiment, maybe some sort of actual demand, and the list goes on...

Either way, it's the Chinese pumper team that will be leading us to whatever price level they seem to be happy with.

It has always been like that. We can only follow their path, and feed ourself with the crumbs that they leave for us to pick up.

I would say that there is no doubt about it.

It's only a matter of when... not if!

It was quite surprising to see Trump wining the election, everyone have speculated clinton will win for sure and i am feeling quite sorry to those who have betted all their money into clinton wining for small odds. Failed to book profit betting on Trump...

We may have to wait for Trump statement regarding bitcoin regulation, limitation to see another boom in bitcoin price.

It is all just speculation for know, even if he really said he will support Bitcoin it doesn't mean it will come true, also one country's government won't affect the price of bitcoin in a big way, And if you notice in the recent weeks Bitcoin's price is gradually going up and I think it is just a mere coincidence that Trump won the U.S. Elections we must now monitor our Assets closely in the coming days.

In my view, it is perfectly fine if he will just stay away from meddling with Bitcoin in any way. Besides, Bitcon price hasn't been gradually going up recently, we already heard rumors of Chinese authorities establishing Bitcoin capital flow controls, which dragged the price down a few percent. And if some government is going to affect the price of Bitcoin big time, it will be the Chinese government for sure.

With or Without Trump victory Bitcoin will hit $1000, though Trump victory could accelerate it, this all depends on him implementing those policies that could catalyse this rise

With the falling the value of dollar, btc still increases but I think it is an another bubble after all, this is just an extreme movement of excited people of bitcoin. Waters will be settled down when this has become normal.
it's indeed the dollar is now about to fall because of trump's effect and it could make bitcoin's price even higher because some people may saving their wealth in form of bitcoin to avoid the falling value of dollar however if trump could make a suprising move which give good affect then they will restore the dollar's value

is the election over or is because of the initial number of votes?

anyways i believe that when election is over there will be some rise in price, and this is what we are already seeing with today's rise but i doubt that price can go up to $1000 just because Trump won the election, not unless he as his first order of business announces support for bitcoin or announce bitcoin as an official money!

Trump would do anything to try and boost US economy and therefore I think he will support btc as it an outsider to the establishment, just like him. btc could be his ace in the hole

I think Trump can do that. He is a businessman so i guess business world will get a boost including the price of bitcoin. We dont know what will happen to bitcoin yet until Trump elected as president. But i hope this is a good a news to us. Trump is little bit ahead from Clinton so i guess Trump is gonna win this election.

On the question of OP: Probably no. The impact of the election will be negligible on long term. Bitcoin price is rising atm because many traders probably cashed out from stocks and invested in BTC since its a great "loophole" for now, because most of the international stocks are crashing.

Bitcoin price has started to grow and may grow more. Same happens with gold.
I expect this to be only a speculation bubble, but it may still grow more. 1000$ is a bit too big, but you never know. 850-900$ sounds more like it though.
When the bubble will pop, I can't tell...

And I really like that cap in the picture Cheesy

As most have speculated that Trump will support bitcoin and may loose the regulation and restrictions regarding bitcoin in America. Obama used to think bitcoin as criminal currency which was completely wrong description and now Trump may start supporting bitcoin which will sure boost the price of bitcoin, we may see $800 by time we see official result and confirmation about Trump being next president. Price have already reacted and reached around $750.  Shocked
I agree on this  one , if  trump would  win  on  the current  presidential elections   and he  intend to  support bitcoin then  for sure we could really expect the bitcoins  price would  boost  up  even  more because adoption would  surely arises and  that's  a good thing   for  bitcoin  but as of now  we still don't  know the results  on which  one  would really win,  I agree with you  bitcoins price Is  now  on  uptrend.
