I think theymos stated he didn't want to implement this, but what about now that images are proxied?

Would the forums benefit from spdy now?

It's just a chrome thing for now I believe.

Fully read the wiki.

Also, if a browser like opera does not use spdy, even though the site provides the new protocol, the site will be very well still usable.

If it ever gets standardized maybe. It's just a chrome thing for now I believe.

Edit: looks like Firefox has support now too.

One of the requirements for the new forum is that it works without JavaScript. Adding AJAX and similar functionality doesn't play with this requirement well. It's looking like there are going to be at least 2 front ends for the new site (if my bid ever gets in and accepted, that is)
