Maybe it will be called COVID 2.0 in 2021 , Because the new Form of Virus from covid 19 is now in the Spreading , and seems like this is faster and easily to be acquired so The World is looking serious in this one.
While the vaccine is just starting to be distributed this Breed of Virus started and another Problem to be faced.

The coronavirus infection is named Covid-19 because it caused a global pandemic in 2019. I think this name will not be renamed every year.

^^ Correct.  It was first discovered in 2019.  Science does not generally rename (or upgrade lol) such things.

The new variant of 19 may be named Covid-20 if they feel it's different enough, but it can also be known as a "19 variant".

(Personally, I prefer the new variant.  It causes clots, which I am protected from)

With something that happens in the UK, I think the Covid-19 was upgraded, and maybe the name will be upgraded to become Covid-20 in 2021. If the government can not stop spreading the virus, maybe we will see another panic from people because the virus got mutations gen and still attack people out there. So be careful when you are in public.

unfortunately the covid19 virus has already mutated there is a new version called the English version which seems to be 70% more contagious than the previous version but it seems that the vaccine will work anyway

Normally virus mutate themselves for their survival so the virus identified in Sep 2019 by China may nit be completely same in 2020 and already two different and most agressive strain of covid identified in UK and South Africa.

No, there is already supposedly a mutated strain of covid-19 in the UK. They are saying it’s no more deadly but is a lot more transmissible. We will see what develops but expect covid-19 to be around for at least another 6 months sadly.

It wouldn't get deleted for no reason by the mods. Maybe it's off the topic or somebody reports your post with valid reason.

In the UK it's named covid 2.0. In other tweets that I've seen, they're naming it covid20.
