what do you consider decent ? offering anything less than 0.02$ per word (even to a beginner) is just your greed.you might find people from bangaldesh who would agree to work on that rates.
You're lucky to have someone to write an article for 37.66 usd. I'm into website content as well and some are asking $50 per article, I assume tarsua knows what his doing in terms of fresh contents and search engine optimized article. If you can ask for 1000 word article, which i can see you can, this should be worth.

That's not "really overpriced" or anything close to it; if anything, it's a medium price/maybe lower than the norm. I guess you guys are used to buying cheap labor; but you get what you pay for and some of us aren't willing to write for $5/hour.
