Electrum is an SPV (Simplified Payment Verification) client.

No. it uses special servers and only scans the blockchain and downloads block headers only. It uses very little space compared to wallets that download the entire blockchain.

No, it will not  Grin

It's a HD wallet, it won't download the full blockchain, so it'll be really small.
Just remember to write down your seed words!

I used the Windows Bitcoin app     https://bitcoin.org/en/download  to store send and receive my bitcoins. Now that I am on Linux I have downloaded Electrum.

I wasnt too happy with my Widows Wallet. It took forever to get up to date and used Tons of Hard drive space..


Does Electrum do the same...
