bitcoin cash paper wallets can be created in almost exactly the same fashion as bitcoin paper wallets - after all they share the same protocol !

Thanks for this post, I was wondering what Blockchain.info's stance was on the fork.   Did any of you get two different recovery seeds for your blockchain.info wallet?

I got one in the very very beginning when first started using blockchain.info.

Then a few months ago, when the mobile app upgraded to like (a version3 wallet I think?), I think I got another different recovery seed.

I have both of them written down, but I'm not sure which one I would use in this instance (to claim bitcoin cash).

The rest of my funds are safe because they are in cold wallets elsewhere...

You can try both and see which one works. My guess is that the second one works.
What I would do is try them in a BTC client, then transfer them in a new BTC wallet, and after that transaction clears and is comfortably confirmed, then import them in a BCH client, and send them in a new BCH wallet. That way the original wallet will be empty from both BTC and BCH and you won't have any risk on either of them being double spent. (You will have the new wallets with BTC and BCH separately).

I contacted the support of blockchain.info
They answer was clear
If i use the key word on a wallet that support Bitcoin Cash i will be able to see my BCC and use it, which means, yes you own the Bitcoin Cash that are in Blockchain.info but you can't see them there, you need to use a different wallet
Thanks for that final clarification of this issue. I was wondering about it for a while,
And here is my question, have you successfully managed to export your private keys to other wallet and use both your BTC and BCC?
I am still scared to dump BCC because I heard that this altcoin possibly has weak reply protection, yet to be seen in action.

You control your private keys with blockchain.info, why are people sdtating otherwise? I think it best to hold and wait for a few more days, when things cool down, there will be enough recources online detailing how to split your coins.

If someone would be nice enough to take the time to write a step by step on how to export your private keys from a blockchain.info wallet into a different wallet to be able to claim their bitcoin cash, in sure a lot of people would find it very useful.

I don't know how to explain it nor have I tried it yet from that wallet so I don't know if it's possible or how easy it is to do.
I'm trying to find those step by step with images on how to claim Bitcoin cash as long you do have your private keys before the fork you will surely get your bch. I would update once I would find that one and I would say It would really be helpful. I'm not quiet sure if it would work on blockchain since that one is based on electrum steps. I didn't hear on anyone regarding on bch on blockchain.info wallet.

No, you won't.
You'll need to import your private keys in a compatible wallet after the fork, so that you'll get your BCH.
How to do that ?, which compatible wallet ?

There a lot of articles online already that are detailing ways to claim your bitcoin cash, but many of them are suggesting to wait it out for a bit if you can.

I still have some with blockchain.info. With those funds I'm just gonna sit on the sidelines and see how this develops

What is the best wallet to get BCC automatically?

Electrum. They already made an announcement that they will be supporting Bitcoincash. They also have made a fork of the Electrum wallet called Electroncash. Hold your coins there and you can import the private keys later.
Don't confuse between similar names. Electrum and ElectronCash are made by different group of developers. Electroncash is very new and there maybe many bugs in it, who knows. You may also be at the risk of losing all your coins. Simply wait for the fork and watch how others react upon this wallet, then decide if you want to import your keys there.

Yes sir, my bad. Electrum does not support BCH. But the real point is if someone wants to claim his share of BCH later then it would be best to store his Bitcoins in a wallet where he controls the private key.

WTF people?! If you dont have a clue, DONT SPREAD FALSE INFORMATION! = At least 5-7 people here wrote a total bull$hit about Blockchain.info wallet!

SO HERE THE FACTS ABOUT BLOCKCHAIN.INFO WALLET:
1) YOU OWN THE PRIVATE KEYS IN THIS WALLET = just generate the 12 word seed...
2) THEREFORE YOU WILL HAVE/GET BCC INTO YOUR BLOCKCHAIN.INFO WALLET, even if not directly supported...
3) IN CASE, THAT BLOCKCHAIN.INFO DEVELOPERS DECIDE NOT TO SUPPORT BCC IN THEIR WALLET, YOU CAN EXPORT THE BCC TO ANY BCC SUPPORTED WALLET BY USING THE 12 WORD SEED.

Agreed. And Electron Cash is not endorsed by Electrum itself. I also read that it is a virus or something so just be careful about using it because you may lost all your bitcoins.

As per Electrum:

"Electron Cash" is a fork of Electrum for Bitcoin Cash. Electron Cash
is not endorsed by Electrum. It is open source, and binaries
(executables files) are available for Windows, OSX and
Android. However, when you run binaries instead of source code, you
have no guarantee that they match the source code. This is why wallet
binaries are usually signed by developers. A digital signature engages
the responsability of the person who signs.

The person who distributes the Electron Cash binaries has decided to
remain anonymous, and uses the fake name "Jonald Fyookball" in order
to sign Electron Cash binaries. Thus, if these binaries contain code
that is designed to steal your bitcoins, the author of the theft will
be anonymous and walk away safely with your funds.

https://electrum.org/bcc2.txt

I think Jonald is a regular of our forum but maybe someone is just using his name for all we know. Again, just be cautious of any wallet that says they are accepting BCC/BCH and you might get tempted to download it just to get this so called "free" coins but end up losing your bitcoin.

Blockchain and Electrum currently doesn't support Bitcoin Cash.

https://blog.blockchain.com/2017/07/30/bitcoin-cash-hard-fork-blockchain-users/

If you want Bitcoin Cash then you have to import your private keys to a BCC supported wallet like Coinomi or BTC.com wallet.

Quote
BCC wallets will require you to import your seed or your private keys,
which can be exported from Electrum. Doing so will expose all your
Bitcoin funds associated with that seed to the BCC wallet you decide
to use.

Quote
"Electron Cash" is a fork of Electrum for Bitcoin Cash. Electron Cash

Thus, if these binaries contain code that is designed to steal your bitcoins, the author of the theft will be anonymous and walk away safely with your funds.

This danger is exacerbated by the fact that the default behaviour of
Electron Cash is to silently copy all your Electrum wallets into its
own directory. Thus, if you run Electron Cash on a machine where you previously used Electrum, all your pre-existing wallets will be
available in Electron Cash, and you will only need to enter your
password in order to expose your bitcoins to potential theft.

https://electrum.org/bcc2.txt

Don't risk the privacy of your bitcoins by doing so. Move all your BTC to a new wallet with new private keys and import the old private keys to a BCC supported wallet to get free coins.

You can look at Blockchain.info CEO tweet: https://twitter.com/OneMorePeter/status/891406518561669122?p=v
This everything what they said about fork and you can interpret his words how do you want. It looks that you don't get Bitcoin Cash on blockchain.info automatically and you may need to make few additional steps to receive Bitcoin Cash. In your place, I would move my bitcoins out from Blockchain.nfo. You still have some time to do it.

You get automatically Bitcoin Cash because you own private keys, but Blockchain.info will stay with Bitcoin and if you want to move your BCC you'll need to use the proper client.

blockchain.info dosent spread BCC. Your coins in bitcointalk may be risky. You can store them in a hardware wallet or a paper wallet during the form. If bitcoin splits after the fork then you will recieve the equal share of BCC as you have in BTC. You will recieve BCC in exchange with your BTC on exchanges with BCC.

OP, if you only have a small amount of Bitcoins in Blockchain.info, I suggest you make a Kraken account and send them there. Kraken has expressed that they will be accepting and listing Bitcoincash in their exchange and would give all their users the BCH that is due to them.

Currently have 2.26BTC... is it too late to switch?

That is more than $5000 there. I will not and cannot advice you what to do with that much money on the line. I thought you had only something under $1000 in Bitcoins. Maybe it would be safer to store them in a wallet with the private keys you control.

OMG you're holding coins on blockchain.info? And you're holding them over August 1st?! You must really not give a shit about privacy, knowing your own private keys, owning your own bitcoins or anything. What a stupid wreckless pointless thing to do. Do you also use Fiat bills as window coverings? You're just asking for people to steal your bitcoins and/or rip you off.

What about the 12 word recovery seed that blockchain.info wallet offers?

You don't need to exchange anything, there is a snapshot taken on the day of the fork. There is really no work to be done. It's just like the stellar and byteball airdrops, all you need to do is to import a private key with coins in it on the snapshot time.

Stellar and Byteball airdrops were different. They just neeed a signed message from your Bitcoin wallet. But BCC is going to be different. It requires the private key of your Bitcoin wallet to be imported in to a BCC-compatible wallet.

So here is the best way to claim BCC: Move your coins from your primary Blockchain.info wallet to another wallet a few days after August 1. Once this is done, import your private key from your primary wallet to any of the BCC-compatible wallets. In this way, you will get the BCC and there will be no risk for your Bitcoins if something turns out bad.

HI NETNOX

I have some Bitcoin in an offline Multibit Classic Wallet, After the fork if I import its private key into one of the compatible Bitcoin Cash Wallets will I receive Bitcoin Cash ?  Reason Why I am asking is if these BCCoins are going to be worth something I may as well avail of them or cash them in for bitcoin Huh

If you have the private key you will always be able to retrieve the bitcoin cash, at the end of the day the private keys for bitcoin and bitcoin cash are identical.

Will I receive bitcoin cash automatically or will there be an option I have to choose? Also, do I keep both bitcoin and receive bitcoin cash or will I have to EXCHANGE bitcoin for bitcoin cash? Thanks in advance fellow bitcoiners.

With blockchain.info you hold your own private keys, therefore you can claim the airdrop on August 1st. I think that it is more appropriate to call bitcoin cash an altcoin rather than a fork.

However blockchain.info will probably only have support for one coin. It is likely that you have to download the actual bitcoin cash client or using another supporting wallet to claim your bitcoin cash tokens.

After the fork, your address will have both BTC and BCC/BCH/Bcash.

Blockchain.info will most likely only show you the BTC balance.

You will be able to access BCC by importing your private keys to a BCC supported wallet post fork.

You can sell the BCC on exchanges for $$$  Cool

First of all you must not rely to blockchain.info in giving you this BCC if fork happens because the safest and most reliable wallet is the one who you holds the private key and this is the offline wallets, if you really value your Bitcoin protect it by yourself and don't just wait for something bad to happen.

I do not believe that you will be getting BCC if you have BTC on a blockchain.info account with Bitcoin deposited within it at the time of the fork. You likely need to have it in a desktop wallet for you to have access to BCC and BTC, otherwise you will likely not be given any BCC, nor will you be able to access it if you do not have the private key.

As for why you would want to have BCC is beyond me but if you're trying to grab it and dump it then I respect the hustle.
I don't necessarily want it either, but I also have a crappy blockchain wallet (don't ask), and I'm interested
to see what's going to happen.  Blockchain was not on that list of good wallets Theymos listed, so I said screw
it, I'm buying Dash for the time being.  I'm OK with that.
Any BCC acquired will be sold or spent, though as of right now I won't be getting anything at all.  Sure is a weird
situation with this.

Blockchain certainly doesn't give you control over your private keys, unlike better wallets.  Think it's probably a good
time to switch to something better.

No you won't get any BCC from blockchain.info as they didn't give any statement about it.

Until they say something, it means they don't support the hard fork (i.e, they won't add it to their wallet).
They might be waiting.

Just use myceilum. It's better.

There is no private key on blockchain.info wallets, so he can't export or import private keys that never exist.

It used to have the option to export private keys. Did they remove that feature ? That would be so weird and why ? (I mean since they used to have it as an option before)

At the moment Blockchain didn't announced if they will support the fork.

But even if they don't, you can export your private key from your Blockchain wallet and import them in a wallet with proper instructions on how to "cashout" your BCC. But remember that it would still be better if you move your bitcoins to an offline wallet like Electrum before the fork.

You will not be receiving any BCC on your blockchain wallet. Some said that they did not support the fork. It is better to keep them on a the suggest wallet from the post of Theymos like Electrum and Mycelium since I store them in my android phone.

If your coins are saved in blockchain.info, I don't think you will be getting a bitcoin cash. Theymos suggested some wallets that is ok and may give you the some BCC based on the bitcoin you saved there. And also, saving BCC is your choice, for me I will be treating it as another altcoin.here is a link of the post of sir Theymos.
