IBM began implementing blockchain education at National University of Singapore (NUS), arguably producing the best post-grad devs, last year. Not only are they one of the leading corporate companies looking to embrace blockchain tech, but are investing in blockchain for the next-gen workforce.

You should remember that Blockchain technology does not only support cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and others but has the ability to revolutionize the markets and transfer/save data.
But I think NASDAQ is the first to support this technology since 2013 by developing methodologies in financial transactions.

In the days when Bitcoin was a hot topic and governments were still deciding what to do with this technology, IBM was one of the first companies that shown interest. As time went by and Banks got involved, they shifted their attention to create their own Blockchain based technologies and Bitcoin was dumped like a turd.
The big companies will always find a way to "steal" the technology and to make it their own. Bitcoin is one of those technologies that gave it to them on a plate.
